Under everyone’s stares, Qi Lin walked before the Gan’s Fang Sword and closely examined this Divine Blade.

As expected, it was a sword. Though it had a serrated blade, it was incomparably sharp. The ferocity of this Immemorial Demon Beast could be vaguely seen. The blade was heavy, engraved with layer upon layer of decorative designs, like essence steel. When wind blew over the blade, the edge, resonated, issuing a tiger-like roar, as if it was a forest tiger god. With this roar, the earth shook, the wind gusted, and everyone sensed an intense aura.

“This ‘Gan’ was an Immemorial Demon Beast who dominated a territory under the Kunlun Mountains, and it dared to clash with the ‘Kaiming.’ This fang still retains the ferocity it had from those days, be careful.” The middle-aged man kindly warned. If Qi Lin was careless, the Gan’s Fang was strong enough to bring mortal danger to a Golden Core cultivator.

Qi Lin nodded and reached out to grab the hilt.

The moment he grabbed the hilt, Qi Lin immediately sensed this blade’s might. A murderous aura flowed from the hilt into his meridians, and it felt like a sharp wind was flaying his skin and breaking his bones, astonishingly terrifying.

If he had been a cultivator without any skill, perhaps he would have been injured just grabbing the blade, rendered unable to pick it up.

Qi Lin inwardly grinned, and activated the Dual Modes Seal.

Strength and gentleness in harmony, blended perfectly.

The ferocious strength upon the sword instantly became a flowing stream under the Dual Modes Seal’s power, and the pain completely vanished.

This seemingly heavy to the point of stifling Gan’s Fang divine blade was lifted light as a feather by Qi Lin.

“What?!”

The middle-aged man was astonished while the people below were also dumbstruck.

They had seen many cultivators challenge Gan’s Fang. Even Golden Core Late Stage cultivators in the end had suffered the consequences of their overconfidence. The cultivators able to lift the sword had not done so as easily and as relaxed as this young man had. This action was so casual, natural as breathing, without any pressure.

After Qi Lin lifted the broadsword, his arms vigorously exerted power, turning gentleness to strength. He swung the sword towards the sea. All of a sudden, a deep split appeared in the surface of the sea, as if it had been sliced open. For a brief moment, the sea surprisingly did not converge. Qi Lin lifted the blade again. With a slight point, the tip of the blade aimed at the horizon.

Amidst everyone, some were extremely skilled cultivators. Even the Kunlun slaves in the village, who all possessed Divine Energy, could sense a powerful spirit exude from the top of the blade when Qi Lin pointed it. As of this moment, man and blade were one. Qi Lin seemed to have become that Immemorial Demon Beast, the “Gan.”

Qi Lin possessed the “heart of the qilin,” and he had grasped the quintessence of the Nine Yins Nine Yangs Fortune Heaven. The Dual Modes Seal had already reached a state of perfection. Although this Gan’s Fang was indeed exceptional, this Immemorial Demon Beast did not reach the level of a Holy Beast. Handling a Divine Blade crafted from a fang naturally was well within Qi Lin’s reach.

“Good!!”

“Amazing, no one would ever think this Little Brother’s talent would be so abnormal.”

“He actually took hold of it so easily.”

Everyone gushed with compliments.

Qi Lin flourished the sword and set the weapon down.

The middle-aged man recovered his calm, stepped forward, and praised Qi Lin: “Little Brother, what should we call you?”

“Your Servant is Qi Lin!”

“Qilin? A splendid name, you truly live up to it. Qilin, qilin, a qilin of the Heavens, I am very impressed.” The middle-aged man took out a plaque. Written on it was the ‘Wan’ character, “Lord Wan Xinyi has other arrangements to make. We invite you tonight to the village’s Western Wan Abode. Lord Wan Xinyi henceforth is eager to discuss matters with everyone.”

“Very well.”

Qi Lin accepted the plaque. Only then did he depart with Qi Qi.

Nightfall. Qi Lin brought the plaque to the indicated Wan Mansion. In this small village, its construction was particularly grand. This luxurious mansion was the only one of its kind, so it was very easy to find. The residence was similar to the Tang dynasty style, whose wooden construction style had a very distinct “left-right symmetry along the central axis.” It appeared very beautiful, but other than this, the Tang dynasty’s wooden construction gave a first glance impression of: structurally simple and plain yet grand and stylish.

This Wan Xinyi appeared to be of high status. At least his livelihood in this village was very good.

Entering the main hall, there was a complete set of golden thread cedar wood furniture. It had a fretwork totem, and it was very exquisite.

Because Qi Lin had been cultivating the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner, he was a bit late. There were already four people in the hall who were waiting impatiently. These four had cultivation that was at least Golden Core Late Stage, and two of them were astonishingly Primordial Infant Realm.

“What the fuck? We waited all day, and the newcomer is actually some brat fresh off the teat? Your Servant cannot abide by this.”

“Hmph, I had thought it was some master that he would arrive so late.”

“Truly disappointing Your Servant.”

As they say, the less capable a person, the more arrogant they were. Qi Lin arrived late, and the Golden Core Late Stage male and female couple echoed one another. They spoke with mockery and derision, while the other two old men were calm as dry wells, expressionless.

Qi Lin promptly apologized.

“Hmph.”

Seeing that Qi Lin’s cultivation was clearly weaker than theirs, the others had no interest to mind him.

Qi Lin’s gaze moved to the Primordial Infant old men. One of them was an old man with a face like an aged crane, weathered by hardship. The other old man had yellow hair and a stooped back. Although both had already refined their souls into Primordial Infants from Golden Core, Qi Lin could smell the air of a dying flame from them; clearly, they were at the end of their life spans. Even with their Divine Intents refined to be like newborns, this was not enough to reach immortality; it was only able to extend their lives by a century. But to a cultivator, this honestly was too insignificant.

“Lord Xinyi has arrived.”

A servant announced this, and the curtains inside the hall were pulled open. Two men confidently stepped forth. One of the two was the middle-aged man who Qi Lin saw convene the blade trial. The man beside him, though, was not obese as he had imagined. The man was unusually tall. In Wan Village, the residents cultivated Kunlun Mountain’s spiritual qi, refining it into Divine Energy, with which they could contend against Divine Names. Their auras were extremely subdued like gods descended; they could not be underestimated.

This Wan Xinyi’s countenance was as still as mercury, and all the qi-blood in his body was stable. It appeared he was not one that Qi Lin could underestimate.

When the middle-aged man spotted QI Lin, he faintly smiled and whispered something into Wan Xinyi’s ear.

Wan Xinyi nodded and cupped his fist towards everyone.

“Apologies, everyone has waited a while.”

“Your Servant had gone to find some information regarding Kunlun Mountain and was delayed.”

Wan Xinyi was also polite.

The reason he summoned them was to be able to quickly and expediently ascend Kunlun Mountain, to pass through the trials to meet with the Queen Mother Of The West. Rumor had it that going to the Kunlun Void in order to meet the Queen Mother was very dangerous in of itself. Let alone Primordial Infant Realm, even God Transformation Realm cultivators were not guaranteed to return alive. Since this was one of the Five Great Divine Mountains, everyone was clear that this Queen Mother’s reward was not so easy to obtain.

“We heard that Your Distinguished Self Xinyi is the rich family of Wan Village, that you once entered Kunlun and even dove beneath the Western Sea. This Old Man has specifically come for this reason, and I hope you do not disappoint me.” The crane-faced old man spoke slowly, with a voice that was steady but resonating.

The others felt the same.

“But of course. We naturally cannot be impolite when we go greet the Queen Mother at Kunlun Mountain. We must be careful.” Wan Xinyi exhorted. Then, he waved his hand, and the middle-aged man spread his arms, unfurling a breathtaking picture scroll of Kunlun.
