The wind gusted in the dark night. The moon was bright, and the stars were clear.
Qi Lin sat cross-legged on the ground. He opened his eyes, and a revelation came upon him. “Shang Xuan…So it turns out I’m possessing this body.” Qi Lin finally finished absorbing those explosive memories, piecing together what had happened.
Shang Xuan, a Shang tribesman of the Seven Dangerous Mountains. The identities of his parents were unknown, and it was rumored he was raised by wolves. Later, he was discovered and returned to the tribe by other Shang tribesmen, where he was ridiculed by others as the child of a wolf.
Though Shang Xuan’s cultivation of Primordial True Qi was extremely slow, his natural strength was extraordinary, and he possessed extremely swift speed and agility. Even the average cultivator could not last under his sneak attacks. In the tribe, he was described as someone astonishing. Shang Yangjun,1 the daughter of a clan elder,2 also fell in love with him and even planned to elope. This embittered Shang Ci, who suddenly activated a magic treasure to kill Shang Xuan during a hunt in the forest.
Unfortunately, the will of Heaven toyed with man, and Qi Lin ended up possessing the body.
Sensing the grudge lingering within, Qi Lin was deeply sympathetic, “Rest easy. I will definitely help you achieve your revenge.”
Taking in the moonlight and starlight, Qi Lin found that the serious injuries on his body were much better. His stomach growled, yet he was unable to move.
The birds in the forest scattered, and a shadow walked out.
Qi Lin’s heart tightened. Another of Shang Ci’s lackeys?
That large figure drew close. When the moonlight shone upon it, Qi Lin was taken aback. It was sturdy, with its entire body covered in white fur. Surprisingly, it was a white ape. That white ape’s face was plain, its brow white as snow, and it had quite a senior air about it.
A wisp of True Qi emerged from Qi Lin; he did not dare be careless.
“The Great King has bade me bring you something to eat.” The white ape spoke.
“You can talk?” Qi Lin was flabbergasted.
“All creatures have spirits, and they all have language. So long as we devote ourselves to cultivation, even human speech is not very difficult to learn.” The white ape was like a kindly old man. Seeing Qi Lin lower his hostility, only then did the white ape slowly approach. He opened his palm, revealing a few red fruits and a full cup of water.
Seeing Qi Lin was still a bit vigilant, the white ape straightforwardly said: “You are the Great King’s Invested Deity Emissary, I do not dare harm you. These are Pure Yang Fruits and Great Yin Cold Water. They can help you recover.”
Qi Lin glanced around. On a faraway mountain peak, a girl sat atop the summit, gazing up at the moon.
Qi Lin believed in her and immediately accepted the Pure Yang Fruit. The fruit was extremely fresh, red as blood, as if it was about to bleed. On its surface was a faint aroma. Qi Lin took a bite and kept it in is mouth. The tip of his tongue faintly burned, but this was not too uncomfortable.
Under such extreme hunger, regardless of whether the fruit was poisoned or not, he chewed only a few bite before wolfing the rest down. The more than thirty Pure Yang Fruits that the white ape brought vanished in the blink of an eye like clouds blown away by a storm. His hunger finally sated, a warm heat circulated around his dantian. This heat coursed through his meridians, and Qi Lin sensed his skin burn, as if he was in a sauna.
Qi Lin immediately entered meditation. This warmth flowed towards his injuries, which seared with pain, then turned warm. His wounds surprisingly healed quite a bit. This warmth and True Qi actually intertwined with each other in a mixture.
But just a moment later, the warmth became an intense, scorching pain. That heat in his belly became a fire, and the inside of his body burned. His organs were on the verge of melting. Qi Lin broke into a cold sweat from the pain. The white ape seemed to have known this would happen, for it passed another lotus leaf cup. “Quickly drink this Great Yin Cold Water.”
Qi Lin had eaten so many Pure Yang Fruits. The blood in his body seemed to become lava, already heating his bones to the verge melting. To see this cool springwater was like how a parched traveler would see an oasis in the desert; he immediately gulped the water down, draining it in a single gulp.
His body grew hotter and hotter, yet the pathways the water traveled through his body grew colder and colder. Cold and heat intermingled, surprisingly forming a primordial force in his dantian, a battle between Yin and Yang.
At times, Qi Lin’s body was as frozen as an ice sculpture, and at others, he was hot as the sun. Between Yin and Yang, a powerful force was unexpectedly released.
“Shit.”
Qi Ling felt his soul endlessly temper in the Yang-fire and the cold Yin, a pain so great he wished he could die. Qi Lin stared at the white ape, unsure what it had given him to eat. That white ape slightly pursed its lips, its gaze nervous.
Just at this moment, a Star Crest glowed on Qi Lin’s forehead. His entire body was covered in a golden light, and the light of the stars and moon entered his pores. Two streams of vital energy, one black and one white, one clear and one turbid, entered the Yin and Yang. The chaotic battle of Yin and Yang were refined by these two vital energies, and after the clash, they leisurely separated, surprisingly. The Yang Qi flowed upwards and sublimated into his skin, sensory organs, and blood. The cold qi sank down, permeating his marrow, bones, and meridians; the black and white vital energies slowly harmonized, producing an odd path of neutralization.
By the time Qi Lin finally recovered consciousness, he felt his body had been reborn.
“Congratulations, Emissary. Your Yin And Yang Fortune Body3 already has a foundation.” The white ape said: “As long as you ingest Pure Yang Fruit and Great Yin Cold Water everyday, you will be able to practice the Five Elements within half a month.”
“Just what is this?” Qi Lin’s expression sank, and his tone turned cold.
“Emissary, do not be angry. Since you are the Invested Deity Emissary of the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven, these dual mode fortunes can help Emissary strengthen your build, cultivation, and magical energy. Only by doing so can you protect the Great King.” The white ape said.
“And what is an Invested Deity Emissary?” Qi Lin asked.
In Primordial World, there was a name for females who, at a young age, were able to inherit legendary names from antiquity. The names did not exist in and of themselves, but these girls were able to bear these names and inherit the power of these legends. In the Primordial Continent, these girls were called “Divine Name Star Generals.”
“Divine Names” were a type of system that stood above and beyond cultivators. They were lofty in Primordial World, for they possessed extraordinary powers, immortality, indestructibility, and could very well possibly last for eternity.
Even so, even Divine Names had a tribulation.
At the beginning of every Star Era, Primordial World’s “Register of Deities”4 would appear. At this time, all Divine Name Star Generals would announce their name. Altogether, the Register of Deities had nine tribulations, each one posed significant danger to the Divine Name Star General. Those able to pass would experience enormous growth in their Realm, and those unable to would have their Star Name destroyed, to be reborn in the next era.
An Invested Deity Emissary was a cultivator who signed an Invested Deity Contract with a Divine Name Star General.
After a cultivator contracted, they would help the Divine Name Star General ward off the consequences before every impending tribulation. The greatest achievement in a tribulation was to protect the Divine Name Star General herself. For this reason, Invested Deity Cultivators would correspondingly also receive the Divine Name’s Innate Skill and a portion of their power.
Great Sage Equal Of Heaven Sun Wukong’s Star Name in Primordial World was universally known. Legend said that she was born from a magical stone, that she possessed a formidable destiny, and that she was without karma or the Five Elements. Countless Divine Name Star Generals and cultivators wanted to kill her in order to obtain her powerful destiny.
Sun Wukong’s current Realm was at the weakest Middle Ancient Stage. Qi Lin, who had just entered the path of cultivation, would find it very hard to protect her. This Yin Yang Fortune Body was something the white ape learned from within an immemorial cavern. Not only was it outside the Five Elements, later cultivation could produce double the results with half the effort. However, the Invested Deity Emissary and the Divine Name Star General shared fortune and misfortune, health and harm. Until the Register of Deities descended, they would be destroyed if his strength was insufficient.
Of course, if they could pass the Register of Deities, Qi Lin could create for himself an Eternal Star Name.
After hearing the white ape’s words, Qi Lin was silent.
Qi Lin healed his injuries and leapt to the summit. The girl hugged her knees, gazing up at the sky by herself, a lonely feeling.
Was she intentionally keeping her distance out of fear of involving him?
Qi Lin smiled and stepped forward. He sat down at the edge with her.
The wind gusted. Qi Lin’s body was unsteady, threatening to topple into the abyss below.
“Brother, look out.” The Great Sage Equal Of Heaven grabbed the hem of Qi Lin’s clothes in a panic.
Qi Lin looked back and smiled, and the girl realized she had been fooled.
“…” The girl puffed her cheeks.
Right now, Qi Lin did not dare believe this girl was the legendary Great Sage Equal Of Heaven, that troublemaker of the Heavenly Palace, that jaded monkey.
However, what else could he do. Seeing that girl look so nervous and wronged, how could Qi Lin remain unmoved.
He stroked the girl’s head: “If you’re done enjoying the view, we should cultivate to join the Register Of Deities.”
“You aren’t afraid of me?” The girl blinked, asking in a small voice.
“You’re my little sister, why should I be afraid of you.”
The girl lowered her head and thought over these words.
“Right, when Star Generals inherit Divine Names, they all have their own names. Wukong, you don’t seem to have a True Name?” Qi Lin felt that calling her Sun Wukong was quite strange.
“No.” Sun Wukong shook her head.
Qi Lin remembered that the name his parents gave him had the meaning of “qilin.” He had an elder sister named Qi Qi,5 and so this was the case.
“I’ll name you Qi Qi.”6
“Qi Qi?”
“Qi, as in jade.”
“Oh.”
Dimples appeared on Qi Qi’s face, and even her fangs were smiling. From this moment forth, she was not alone.

Huh.
In the first story, Su Xing was isekai’d.
In the second, Chen Mo was reincarnated.
And in this one, Qi Lin was transmigrated.
But, yeah. I’m REALLY liking this one a lot. Hopefully it stays strong throughout its whole run.
I wonder what other Divine Name Star Generals he’ll contract….
Great chapter!
