Kunlun Void
The Queen Mother Of The West quietly lowered her gaze, a faint smile hanging upon the corner of her lips.
“Master Mother, that girl possesses such ferocity, to actually be capable of slaying the Zhuyan so easily.” Wu stood behind her, watching the projection in the air.
Even if she had seen formidable Divine Generals previously, the extraordinary aura that Qi Qi exuded still caused her to stir.
“That weapon is not her Divine Weapon either. If she obtains that weapon, she will perhaps shock you even more.” The Queen Mother Of The West gently said.
“This…Is this not a Divine Weapon?” The girl was stunned.
The girl then asked: “Master Mother, just who is this young man, why was the Zhuyan’s ‘Seeing The Great Soldier’ ineffective against him.” Seeing The Great Soldier was one of the Zhuyan’s extremely formidable abilities. Its four eyes were able to see in all directions, and any sentient creature caught in its gaze would fall into a state of extreme hostility against every living thing around them, thereby sowing chaos and internecine strife. It was from this confusion that the Zhuyan absorbed power.
The Zhuyan had received the Kunlun Mountains’ essence, and its Seeing The Great Soldier and Primordial Infant Realm Divine Intent were impossible to block.
“Can it be that the Destiny of that young man’s Divine General is able to resist the Zhuyan’s powers?” Something like this could explain it.
“He has the protection of the Holy Beast that is head of all beasts, the heavenly Qilin. The Zhuyan’s powers naturally are unable to confuse its mind.”
“A heavenly Qilin Child.”
“TO think there actually is something like this in existence.” Wu was very surprised.
“Heavenly Qilin, a giant among men. His future prospects are limitless.”
“Master Mother, are you preparing to receive him?”
“If he actually passes the Nine Divine Gates, This One actually wishes to see him.” The Queen Mother Of The West said.
“Wu, go greet them.”
“Wu obeys.”
The girl vanished without a trace.
The Queen Mother Of The West ruminated.
…
Two days later, Hou Yi’s party indeed did not see the Zhuyan any further, so they increased their pace. Without the Zhuyan’s disturbance, the Nine Divine Gates were increasingly close, as expected.
As the snow mountain spruces increased in number, the scenery also became even more magnificent.
Just as they were finally about to reach the the Nine Divine Gates, everyone was excited.
Chang was a bit worried and sick, showing little interest in the spirit grasses they passed along the way. Shi Xuan knew she was worried about Qi Lin’s safety and said a few words of advice.
Xuanxuzi disagreed and scornfully said that Golden Core cultivator died a worthy death to help lure the Zhuyan away from them. As a Golden Core Realm, to be able to cross the Weak River and be interred at a spirit leyline like the Jade Void Peak was a kind of blessing.
Chang bit her lip and sighed.
“Then Your Servant is truly honored by your kindness.” All of a sudden, a cold voice came from above them.
Everyone was startled. They raised the heads and looked at the cliff above. In front of the Divine Gate was a man, imposing, showing an extraordinary bearing as he kept his hands behind his back.
Who else could he be but Qi Lin.
“Big Brother Qi Lin.” Chang happily ran up.
Xuanxuzi and Gan Man were shocked while Shi Xuan and Hou Yi glanced at each other, all of them very surprised.
“You actually survived?” Xuanxuzi did not dare believe this.
“Thanks to everyone’s care, Your Servant still lives.” Qi Lin grinned.
Xuanxuzi’s expression became very unsightly: “Are you playing tricks on us, how can a Golden Core cultivator like you possibly be able to avoid this calamity.”
“Qi Lin, just what is happening here?” Hou Yi was also a bit displeased and wanted an explanation.
“I was chased by the Zhuyan and just happened to run into other cultivators. While the Zhuyan was entangled by them, I seized the chance to escape.” Qi Lin found an excuse.
“There are others here?” Gan Man said.
“So many people are making pilgrimages to seek an audience with the Queen Mother, there was bound to be some able to cross the Weak River.” Qi Lin said matter-of-factly.
“Is your luck so good?” Xuanxuzi did not dare believe him.
“How could Your Servant escape with his own strength otherwise.”
Xuanxuzi indeed could not surmise of other explanations. Even Divine General Hou Yi was at wit’s end dealing with the Zhuyan. Unless a Golden Core cultivator had an Earlier Heaven magic treasure, there would be no way to escape. However, even then, a Golden Core cultivator did not have the qualifications to use one.
“Then how did you arrive here before us?” Shi Xuan curiously asked.
Qi Lin naturally would not divulge he had a treasure the likes of the Kunlun Map. He found a random excuse that they were unable to refute.
“Senior Hou Yi, the request Your Servant made earlier is still valid?” Qi Lin sincerely asked.
Hou Yi answered: “Since we have already arrived at the Nine Divine Gates, it naturally is valid.”
“Many thanks, Senior.”
Afterwards, everyone’s attention was shifted back to these Nine Divine Gates.
The void of Kunlun spanned eight hundred li and reached ten thousand ren in height. Upon it was a tree five xun tall and five wei wide. In front of it were nine wells with jade as fencing, as well as nine gates all vast in appearance.
The Nine Divine Gates were an enormous palace gate, engraved with patterns of divine birds that were lifelike. Spirit Birds from Heaven and Earth flew about inside, appearing calm.
The divine gate was like a mountain made of jade and gold.
An enormous beast relief on the gate grasped the doors with its claw, crouching with an expression of contempt. Its mouth was open, inlaid with gold essence; it had a tiger’s body and a human’s face, showing a cruel form. It glared at Kunlun Mountain, intimidating to all spirits.
“How magnificent.”
Everyone already felt shaken just looking at the gate.
The gate was shut tight, impossible to open with human power. Even Gan Man’s boundless brute strength could not budge it. Xuanxuzi wanted to use a flight art to leap past the Divine Gate, but no matter how high his Escape Technique went, that Divine Gate’s dimensions seemed as endless as his power, as if there was no opportunity for him to exploit at all.
“How do we cross?” Everyone was shocked.
Hou Yi and the others placed their gazes subconsciously on Qi Lin. They had unwittingly treated this young man, whose cultivation was the weakest, as the leader.
Although unhappy, Xuanxuzi had to acknowledge that this young man was unfathomable to him and truly so. “Should we be unable to enter this Divine Gate, then your condition is null.”
Qi Lin carefully scrutinized this giant, imposing Divine Gate. His gaze was on that Divine Beast relief upon the gate, in particular.
“This should be the legendary Kaiming Beast, guardian of the Nine Divine Gates. This beast is a spirit of Kunlun itself, one that even High Ancient Divine Realm cultivators1 are unable to control.” Shi Xuan obsessively stared at this relief.
The Kaiming Beast was very famous in Western Kunlun, yet it had never been seen in Primordial World.
“Since the Kaiming Beast is the guardian beast of the gate, there must be a principle behind it.” Xuanxuzi felt this place hid some kind of mechanism.
But no matter how they looked, they did not find anything abnormal. “Enough of that. If it actually is the Kaiming Beast, I fear we won’t be able to face it.” Qi Lin said.
“Then what do you say we should do? How should we cross the Nine Divine Gates when we are already unable to cross the first right now.” Xuanxuzi was displeased.
Qi Lin sat crosslegged.
“Wait!”
“What?”
Qi Lin said: “We wait for it to open, just like this. Since it is a gate, it will open at some point. Otherwise, this gate is just a trap, and I presume that the Queen Mother Of The West wouldn’t do such a thing.”
Since it was a door, it would open.
Everyone was flabbergasted to hear this explanation. In truth, this was just fengshui geomancy.
Unable to find a better way, they could only follow Qi Lin in sitting crosslegged for dedicated meditation. During this time, they did not speak or eat. They did not even breathe.
For the sake of entering the Kunlun Mountains, everyone had squandered decades; they had the patience to wait for a door to open.
After a long wait, after who knew how many days, at last, that tightly shut gate creaked open.
Everyone opened their eyes. They saw a young woman delicately walk out from inside the light.

Screw it, NTR Chang!!!!
I mean, Chang isn’t really attached to anyone right now, so…
