That Gongyang Tu was capable of a Destined Skill was far outside of Qi Lin’s expectations. In his impressions, a Destined Skill was a type of ability wielded when a Divine General used her Destined Divine Weapon, one with enormous and unfathomable power that surpassed any other ability. The only way for a cultivator to control one was to refine that Divine General’s Destiny, and only by fully grasping that Divine General’s Destiny could a glimpse be made.
Qi Lin was also capable of Destined Skills, and in fact, he could wield Huang Feihu’s Weight Of Mount Tai, Wang Jian’s Jian Destroys Six Kingdoms, and Hou Yi’s Sun-chasing Arrow. Because Yu Yuan was slain by Qi Qi, Qi Lin did not refine her Destiny, but he did take possession of the Approaching Heaven magic treasure, the Blood Transformation Divine Blade. He comprehended a bit of its Nine Provinces Of Bloody Sobs, but it was still not as strong as a Destiny.
Qi Lin did not expect Gongyang Tu to surprisingly also be capable of a Destined Skill. Moreover, this Destined Skill far surpassed Qi Lin’s expectations.
“Depression!!”1
Countless wisps of blood-qi formed the “Chiyou Saber,” and red beams shot through space in a dense barrage towards Qi Lin, sudden as a thunderstorm’s downpour, unstoppable.
This time, Qi Lin was too late to run away.
Several slashes and saber-lights directly pierced through Qi Lin’s body, viscera, and organs in succession, leaving a series of bloody holes in a horrendous sight. For a God Transformation cultivator, damage to the corporeal body was somewhat of an inconvenience, but even if their heart was destroyed, that would not prove fatal. Once at God Transformation Realm, so long as the Primordial Spirit was not destroyed, the cultivator could one day reconstruct a physical body or incarnate in another person to rise again.
But Qi Lin did not want his corporeal body destroyed; he may as well just die.
At this time, the heart of the Holy Beast Qilin within shielded him, its auspicious light and qi flowing over his whole body, covering him with dragon scale-like armor. His entire person overflowed with the soul of the one that stood guard over the center. Astonishingly, this was a Qilin Body.
However, compared to what the original Holy Beast had bestowed, the Qilin Body that the “heart of the Qilin” had manifested did not reach such a degree of power. Still, it was sufficient to stop Gongyang Tu’s Depression.
“This is an ability that can only be developed from Truth Return Four Symbols, impossible.”
Gongyang Tu was overwhelmed with shock. The aura surrounding Qi Lin was something that a God Transformation cultivator should not have possessed at all, but what awaited him was an even greater surprise – or perhaps an even greater shock.
Qi Lin grit his teeth and drew the blade.
This was the Blood Transformation Divine Blade’s “Heaven And Earth Decree, Fury Of Man And God.”
Evil qi and blood-qi coiled around like two gigantic cyclones, leaving the Chiyou Blood Banner on the verge of being blown apart as the blood mist continually receded.
Other than poking dozens of bloody holes into Qi Lin’s body, Gongyang Tu was surprisingly unable to kill him or even put him on death’s door. This left Gongyang Tu in a bit of denial. When he killed cultivators previously, even a Void Return cultivator was undoubtedly dead once Depression was invoked.
“Just who are you!!” Gongyang Tu’s eyes widened: “You absolutely cannot be an ordinary God Transformation cultivator. Who is your master, just what is your background…”
Qi Lin activated the Green Satchel Book to heal his own wounds, “Brother Gongyang has also been hiding things, huh…To think you are capable of using a Destined Skill. Have you killed a Divine General?”
“Hmph.” Gongyang Tu sneered, a matter-of-fact expression. Given his ambitions for the Register Of Deities, killing a Divine General was only a matter of course.
“I want to see how many tricks you have, how long you can last.” Gongyang Tu repressed his fury and formed hand seals.
The Chiyou Banner increased in size again, and the blood-mist became even more expansive, covering a range of a thousand li. Gongyng Tu’s expression was even more sinister, his veins bulging, as if they were about to explode. Gongyang Tu brandished the Chiyou Saber, and he breathed in the boundless blood-mist, and a hundred zhang-sized Chiyou Saber-shadow swung downwards.
The two of them traded blows in the blood-mist, their figures crisscrossing.
All of a sudden, Gongyang Tu’s fire crossed Qi Lin’s ice.
…
The several thousand li Mount Tu.
Nezha and Qi Qi were walking on a small path. The Great Deity Of Three Altars And Seas ran her fingernail over the cauldron. This large cauldron was originally heavy as a thousand catties. However, after leaving the divine palace, it was as light as a sheet of paper such that she could fiddle around with it between her fingers.
“Is this Divine Cauldron actually an Earlier Heaven magic treasure? I really can’t fathom it.” Nezha assessed as she played with it. She had seen Earlier Heaven magic treasures before. Daoist Master Taiyi had an Earlier Heaven-level “Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover” that could reduce High Ancient Divine Generals caught in it to ash. This type of Earlier Heaven-grade magic treasure was different from normal magic treasures. Those with divine might could sense others’ in proximity.
It was said that Earlier Heaven magic treasures were all refined from materials or objects at the beginning of primordial chaos, and they came to possess innate spiritual power. Only Divine Names that had an innate brightness and strong Divine Energy could control it; it was not a toy that could be arbitrarily played with.
Qi Qi was not terribly interested in the Divine Cauldron. Since Big Brother liked it anyways, taking it with them was fine.
Right now, Qi Qi was searching around via contract to reunite with Qi Lin.
Nezha could not see any bit of power from this magic treasure and tossed it to Qi Qi, who deftly shrunk it and stored it in her bag. All of a sudden, Qi Qi stopped at a cliff a hundred meters away.
A person in black armor scaling the cliff with lightning-speed. She hefted one of the enormous Divine Cauldrons, bounding back and forth with the agility of a bird.
“Isn’t that one of the guards that man brought with him?” Nezha had a bit of an impression. Those four tall black-armored guards emanated a gloom that she was very repulsed by.
“En.”
“Oh, there’s more.” Nezha pointed.
Qi Qi looked over.
On the other cliff faces, she spotted three people in black armor dashing along the edge, similarly carrying large cauldrons on their shoulders.
The four armored people carrying four large cauldrons, bounding along the cliff, as if moving together towards a specific point. This scene appeared very unusual. “What’s over there?” Nezha looked in the direction they were running.
Qi Qi then noticed a dense crimson mist rise above a faraway mountain forest like morning clouds, but it did not have the vitality of the morning sky. Rather, it had a deathly aura.
Wherever that crimson mist passed, birds died.
Qi Qi looked at the absconding armored person then back at that stunning red mist. She immediately brought out the Jingu Bang and flew in that direction.
“Wait for This Great Deity.” Nezha shouted. She stepped onto the Wind Fire Wheels and hurriedly gave chase.
…
Mount Tu, another peak.
Nüba and Fenghou having escaped from death with their lives, breathed a collective sigh of relief. The subordinates that had followed her this time had all been wiped out, leaving only the two of them. Although the loss was very significant, they had fortunately avoided costing Mother face in the end.
“When I return, I must properly discuss Emperor Yao’s divine palace with Mother.” Nüba was pensive.
Fenghou agreed: “We must warn Her Majesty to be wary of that Qi Lin. His contributions were pivotal in obtaining the Divine Cauldrons this time, but this man is unfathomable, very comparable to Primordial World’s Four Dukes.
“His background is also unknown.” Nüba nodded.
The two of them were just about to set down the mountain when they caught sight of a red cloud a thousand li away. It was like blood, and even from far away, they could sense evil qi.
Upon seeing this scene, Nüba and Fenghou glanced at each other, for this was all too familiar.
“Chiyou Banner?”
“Why would the Chiyou Banner be here?” Nüba was perplexed.
“Can it be that Chiyou even sent such a precious treasure?” Fenghou did not dare believe that Chiyou would do so. The Chiyou Banner was a very formidable treasure of the Li tribe. With this treasure, Xuanyuanshi up until now had been unable to take down Chiyou.
But for such a treasure to unexpectedly appear in Gongyang Tu’s hands, Zhijing was honestly unable to figure out just what Chiyou was thinking.
“If this is the case, then it should be to kill QI Lin.” Nüba faintly grinned.
Zhijing was probably also able to deduce the reason. Qi Lin had recently become too outstanding, already surpassing Gongyang Tu and becoming a sort of threat. In truth, there were people in the Hong Tribe who suggested to Xuanyuanshi that they deal with Qi Lin, but out of consideration for Yu, Xuanyuanshi had refused to do so. However, what Fenghou did not understand was that killing Qi Lin right now was making enemies out of the Ji Tribe; this was not a very wise decision.
That Chiyou was smart, her shrewdness beyond measure. There was absolutely no chance that she did not understand the implications.
“Chiyou understands, yes. But someone else does not.” Nüba smiled.
Fenghou blinked.
“If Lord Gongyang can use this opportunity to kill Qi Lin, then he will occupy an unrivalled position in the Northern Primordial, and if he can obtain the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven’s Destiny, this would prove an enormous boon for Chiyou. In Gongyang Tu’s eyes, Qi Lin is merely a God Transformation Realm Emissary who is in possession of the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven. Killing him is not difficult, but the benefits after killing him are too great.”
“He is also the God Transformation cultivator that slayed the Fuzhu.” Fenghou reminded.
The Fuzhu was a Divine Beast. Even a High Ancient Divine Realm would not necessarily be able to kill it.
Thus, Chiyou not only lent him the Chiyou Banner, but she even assigned four of her doppelgangers.” Nüba raised her chin.
“Your Highness, shall we be the fishermen who take both snipe and clam?” Fenghou narrowed her eyes.
They had come to Mount Tu this time also with the intention to kill Qi Lin. This man was currently too great a threat, especially after what they had witnessed of his conduct in the divine palace. Heaven knew what Realm he would reach in the future, and Fenghou did not dare imagine.
“Now that the Chiyou Banner has appeared, we cannot interfere so easily.” Nüba pondered upon this and shook her head.
The Chiyou Banner was too formidable a magic treasure. Even if it was Gongyang Tu using it, combined with his Chiyou Martial Chant, Chiyou Saber, and the four Chiyou doppelgangers, this posed too great a risk to themselves. This Chiyou had placed incomparable faith in Gongyang Tu, with an abundance of destructive power.
Nüba did not want to wade into these muddy waters. Since they had already obtained a Divine Cauldron, they ought to return and properly study the Divine Cauldron’s mysteries.
Ever since the eight cauldrons had been separated, the Divine Cauldron’s Divine Energy had diminished considerably. She was unable to sense Earlier Heaven level power from it.
“But we should take a look first. Perhaps we can obtain other Divine Cauldrons.” Nüba said.
“As you command.”
…
In the blood mist, Qi Lin and Gongyang Tu were locked in a struggle.
Qi Lin’s Approaching Heaven magic treasure Blood Transformation Divine Blade’s fiend qi was boundless, unstoppable as it tore apart the bloody mist. This magic treasure was inherently unparalleled in handling God Transformation Realm. If touched by the blade, even a High Ancient Divine Realm would suffer enormously. But he never expected that Gongyang Tu’s Chiyou Banner magic treasure would perfectly inhibit the Blood Transformation Divine Blade’s efficacy.
The blood mist that the Chiyou Banner emitted could instantly mend any wounds that Gongyang Tu suffered, and even the Blood Transformation Divine Blade’s power could be dispelled by it.
Gongyang Tu relied on the Chiyou Banner to increase his Realm, to completely wield the Chiyou Martial Chant he had been cultivated for a century.
The blades’ domineering auras seemed to disintegrate them.
Maintaining the Chiyou Banner required powerful magical energy, and even Gongyang Tu should not be able to last too long. Qi Lin waited for this chance. Once Gongyang Tu was without the Chiyou Banner’s protection, he could easily kill Gonyang Tu.
No.
The longer Qi Lin tussled with him, the more he felt that the situation was very wrong. Although Gongtang Tu’s attacks were powerful and filled with oppression, he was holding back, not using full power at all. He apparently knew that it could not kill him and thus held back.
Qi Lin considered using the Immortal-slaying Flying Dagger, to kill him when his guard was down.
Then he heard Gongyang Tu say over and over: “Not bad, not bad.”
“Hm?”
Qi Lin knew that he was about to utter some arrogant proclamation.

…. I HATE these people so much…
Well, Gongyang Tu does have a personal vendetta against Qi Lin, so there was inevitably going to be a clash at some point.
