The endless Western Sea.
An enormous ship broke the waves.
When it entered the furthest reaches of the sea, a vast despair was increasingly perceptible. The churning waves were like roaring dragons and tigers, able to easily rip apart the large ship. More and more formidable Fierce Demon Beasts also lay hidden at the bottom of the sea at all times, waiting for prey.
Qi Lin stood in a magic circle at the top of the boat, using his Divine Intent to sail the Chang’an.
Every day was like this, yet he did not tire.
Chang’an cut through the sea on its lonesome, and neither brother nor sister ever showed signs of exhaustion. As their route penetrated deeper, the Western Sea became increasingly desolate while signs of the other occasional ship also gradually vanished. However, this kind of solitude gave Qi Lin a sense of security, on the contrary. Desolation and solitude also signified safety.
On this day, Chang’an was still sailing through the water. As Qi Lin researched the Green Satchel Book, he also took the time to refine the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner. Suddenly, the innocent Qi Qi became a bit savage. The Great Sage Equal of Heaven lifted her head to gaze at the horizon, her expression demonic. Qi Lin grunted, his forehead tightly creased. No way.
A shining light approached from the horizon. That light tread upon clouds, moving extremely quickly, producing splashes of water on the ocean surface.
In the light was a woman. She had classical facial features and an awe-inspiring aura about her. She exuded power without fury and was clad in armor and robe. The boots on her feet stepped over the air, one bound clearing a dozen li. Chang’an was already very swift, and Wu Gu originally constructed this ship in order to evade the pursuit of marine Demon Beasts. It had a speed more than capable of clearing a thousand li in a breath. Even a Primordial Infant Seven Stars cultivator could not possibly catch up, but the counterparty was like a persistent leech after it discovered Qi Lin’s Chang’an, intensifying the pursuit. “Erlang Shen Yang Jian!” Qi Lin was shocked. After so long, this Erlang Shen surprisingly was doggedly keeping up the pursuit.
Erlang Shen stood on one of her own Eight Treasures, the Cloud-treading Shoes, all along the way like a meteor catching up to the moon. The woman spotted Qi Qi and called out, “Sun Wukong, do you dare not fight This God again.”
Qi Qi was a bit impulsive, but Qi Lin held her back. “Ignore her.” Qi Lin’s Divine Intent moved. The boat’s cannons thundered, and meteor-like cannonballs were launched. Chang’an had formidable range and defensive capabilities. The defenses it was outfitted with were sufficient to fend off even a Primordial Infant cultivator.
Several dozen cannon shells shot towards Yang Jian, exploding into sparks midair.
Yang Jian sneered, her tri-tipped spear easily breaking the shells. She thrust the spear in her hands, the spear-lights like rain. Chang’an activated its defensive arrays and intercepted this wave of ferocious attacks, but Qi Lin clearly sensed the domineering and merciless nature of Yang Jian’s assault. The defensive array immediately was drained of ten percent of its magical energy.
“Yang Jian, what hatred is there between us, that you actually would pursue us to such an extent.” Qi Lin shouted.
“The Register Of Deities is active. Does This God need hatred to justify my killings.” Yang Jian sneered.
These words left Qi Lin speechless. Even if there was no enmity between Divine Names of the Register, they would need to slay other Divine Names out of self-preservation.
“I never imagined that even the famous Erlang Shen would take advantage of another’s difficulties. Why not wait until my little sister obtains her Divine Weapon to openly battle.” Qi Lin was still unwilling to give up. Yang Jian was too strong, and he could only use this type of stalling.
Yang Jian hesitated for a moment, her eyes recalling something. She shouted: “This God can ignore other Divine Names, but only this monkey cannot be spared.”
Cannot be spared? Qi Lin cursed to himself. Just what did the previous Great Sage Equal Of Heaven do to Yang Jian that she could retain a grudge for ten thousand years.
Yang Jian attacked with all her might, her tri-tipped spear’s killing intent repeatedly battering Chang’an‘s defensive wards. The calm seas were already surging with heaven-shaking waves.
When Wu Gu originally constructed Chang’an, she never could have imagined that it would withstand the might of a High Ancient Realm Divine Name. Even if she did, she would have been powerless. However, Chang’an was indomitable, and Yang Jian would not break it so easily.
“Big Brother, let me at her. This Old Sun is not scared of her.” Qi Qi grit her teeth, hating this Erlang Shen was bullying them. Qi Lin currently was Golden Core Middle Stage while Qi Qi’s Realm had also received an ascension. She was no longer practically powerless like she was before.
“Don’t be rash.” Qi Lin was aware of Yang Jian’s might.
Primordial Dragon Slash!
Yang Jian did not want to waste time. Even she had great trepidation for the furthest reaches of the Western Sea, fearing there would be more twists or turns. Ever since she was humiliated at Changliu by the White Emperor, she was already deeply resentful of Qi Lin, who had a close relationship with the White Emperor.
Her Ten Million-level Destined Skill attacked once again, the tri-tipped spear unleashing an ancient divine dragon. Even the surging tides calmed under its presence.
Qi Lin activated all of the Chang’an‘s arrays. The talisman script arranged layer by layer into an Inexhaustible Formation.
The Primordial Dragon Slash thundered against the Inexhaustible Formation. The divine dragon roared, and an ice-cold spear-light immediately broke layer after layer.
When Qi Lin saw that the defensive formation was unable to withstand her strike, he muttered to himself that this was bad. He immediately brandished the Dark Heaven magic treasure Cloud-piercing Arrow and Heaven-shaking Bow.
Four Yins Four Yangs power gathered on the arrow and was unleashed. The magical energy was formidable, for the Cloud-piercing Arrow punched through the Primordial Dragon Slash in a single go.
“What!” Yang Jian was shocked. Her Ten Million Destined Skill was actually broken. The Cloud-piercing Arrow’s surplus power was not diminished. Yang Jian flung her Divine Weapon to deflect it, but the arrow brushed past her armor, lightly cutting her skin.
“It seems that White Emperor Shaohao has treated you very well, that your magical energy would surprisingly be so profound.” Yang Jian was not aware Qi Lin was capable of the Nine Yins Nine Yangs Fortune Heaven ability, believing instead that he had been conferred something by the White Emperor. She could not help but become angrier: “Do not think that you share a good relationship with the White Emperor. She is merely exploiting me as an opportunity while I kill you. She deliberately spared my life so that I could chase you to the ends of the earth, to leave me unable to return to the Western Continent and inform the Founder of her matters.”
“Is that so. So you would rather let her have her way?” Qi Lin was unfazed.
“The Primal Chaos Heavenly Court period is long gone. No matter what tricks the Immemorial Royal Family has, they are foreordained to not be tolerated by the heavenly way. Indeed, This God wants even more to kill you.”
Yang Jian tightly gripped her spear. Her formidable determination showed no doubt. Her divine light glowed brighter, as if the form of an ancient god was possessing her. The golden light over her entire body shone across ten thousand li. Even the Demon Beasts in the ocean were shaken and swam into lower depths, letting out howls.
“This Yang Jian is honestly vicious, that she would actually use Billion Destiny.” Qi Lin was inwardly shocked that Yang Jian would engage in indiscriminate destruction.
Chang’an was already showing signs of collapse under her powerful Destiny. Even if they did not die, to lose Chang’an‘s support that could match Yang Jian’s power would leave them like fish on a chopping board.
“Since you are going all-out, is there a reason I should still fear you.” Qi Lin sneered. Anyone else would have been taken down by Yang Jian, but she was facing Qi Lin, a man bound to be extraordinary ever since he signed a contract with the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven.
Qi Lin thought quickly, to make Chang’an self-destruct to take Yang Jian down with it to oblivion. At the same time, Qi Lin brought out a phoenix xiao and indulgently played a tune.
The song of the xiao was like a phoenix’s cry, incomparably pleasant to listen to. The beautiful music could induce a phoenix to dance.
Yang Jian’s expression changed. She surprisingly heard an inconceivable Divine Energy within the music, something far more powerful than her Billion Destinies, as if it had reached the level of the primordial universe. This was something only a Divine Name that surpassed High Ancient Realm was capable of. “Impossible, how could you possibly have such luck.” Yang Jian could hardly believe this as she indignantly attacked.
Her entire person slammed against Chang’an, unstoppable.
Billion Destinies: Ancient God’s Wrath.
Qi Lin’s music had reached the climax; this was none other than Four Seas Seek Phoenix. Heaven and Earth seemed to shatter, and the self-destruction of Chang’an with Yang Jian produced a shocking explosion, blasting everything in a range of a hundred li. Countless Demon Beasts in the sea suffered calamity one after another. An immense hole seemed to be detonated into the sea itself, and under this frightening detonation, an absolutely beautiful phoenix died and was born in the flames. This beautiful phoenix ignored all the energy and flew further into the Western Sea, very quickly vanishing without a trace.
A long while after, the explosion finally subsided. The remnants of Chang’an were scattered all over the ocean. This boat that was worth tens of millions of Wu jade was already scrap in no time, however, it had already accomplished its mission. The force produced by the boat’s detonation was not inferior at all to a Billion Destinies attack. Yang Jiang floated above the ocean, her armor and clothes in tatters. She was covered in cuts and bruises.
Yang Jian appeared extremely weak, even unable to continue the pursuit. “I will definitely not let this go.” If it could be said that Yang Jian’s vision was focused only on the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven before, it was now already replaced by Qi Lin. Everything this man did ever since the Western Primordial was abnormal. This miserable defeat was already sufficient to leave Qi Lin’s damnable smile etched deep into her mind. Yang Jian looked around, left with no choice but to find someplace to begin mending her wounds.

Talk about a petty grudge….
It’s pretty lore accurate since Erlang Shen is Sun Wukong’s archrival of sorts.
