Penglai, Yingzhou, Fangzhang, Kunlun, and Beiming.
As the five Divine Islands in Primordial World, they floated in the furthest reaches of the oceans trillions of li away from the Great Continents. Because they were isolated, it was rumored they were created at the same time as the heavenly way and that there were still remnants of worldly spiritual qi from those times at the Five Divine Mountains. Later, top-notch Divine Names used them as their own personal cultivation grounds and set up obstacles. As time passed, traces of the Five Divine Mountains vanished from the seven seas like a rumor. All except Western Kunlun.
Western Kunlun was located at the edge of the Western Sea and was known as the head of the Five Divine Mountains. Even the Yuanshi Tianzhun had snooped about it. The Queen Mother Of The West was Western Kunlun’s master, a Divine Name that was conceived and nurtured here for tens of thousands of years. It could be said that the mountain and her blood were one.
Although Western Kunlun had a barrier, it was not completely lost like Yingzhou or Fangzhang. Only cultivators who entered the Western Sea and kept traveling towards the periphery, kept on moving towards the end of the Western Sea, could see a winding ten thousand li long chain of mountains. These mountains were like an immense coiled dragon. At the peak of Kunlun Mountain, a multi-colored cloud spurted forth and descended into the endless Western Sea before vanishing from sight. According to legend, the Queen Mother Of The West established a rule that so long as a cultivator was able to pass the Nine Divine Gates after they entered Western Kunlun, they could gain an audience with her.
Over the course ten thousand years, countless cultivators had come to Western Kunlun Mountain, including Truth Return Four Symbols cultivators, but few had returned satisfied. A majority of people had even vanished after entering Western Kunlun. Add on that Western Kunlun Mountain was at the edge of the Western Sea, a distant journey, over time, even God Transformation cultivators rarely came.
However, Primordial Infant Seven Stars Realm cultivators were still willing to embrace a mentality of fortune favors the bold. Cultivators of this Realm, where “thought formed Primordial Infant” ran afoul to “the heavenly way is eternal,” would suffer significant damage to their vitality; it was the most critical pitfall in cultivation. Many cultivators would finally cultivate to Primordial Infant, but their lifespans would oftentimes be at an end. Thus, they had no choice but to find ways to prolong their lives in order to continue cultivation, and the Jade Lake Peaches of Western Kunlun were said to be the greatest.
Primordial World had many spirit medicines and elixirs capable of extending one’s lifespan, but most were ineffectual. On the other hand, the Jade Lake Peaches were classified as a Divine Fruit from the times of primordial chaos. Even the best Divine Names all pursued it, and many Primordial Infant and even Golden Core cultivators were willing to brave danger for it.
After learning the whole story, it was not difficult for Qi Lin to explain the excited and impatient expressions of Ancestor Three Truths and the group after they stepped into Western Kunlun Mountain.
“Is this place really Western Kunlun?”
Looking into the distance, several pavilions towered in the mountains surrounding them. Light green streamers connected the eaves of the pavilions, and when the wind blew, the streamers floated gently like the sleeves of fairies in dance. Upon closer scrutiny of this illusory scene, he could almost hear the faint echoes of fantastical music from the pavilions.
Thick spirit qi permeated Heaven and Earth. The green mountain stood lofty, with a series of sheer drops and cliffs that towered like precious mirrors. Waterfalls sprayed, their sparkling mist falling like pearls. Under the sunlight, they formed innumerable rainbow bridges that were spectacular beyond compare. Divine deer grazed grass at the foot of the mountain, gazelles darted about, and from time to time, small, white-furred, hare-like creatures rolled to and fro. Multi-colored cranes stretched their wings and soared through the sky, their distinct and beautiful cries improving the group’s mood. Particularly of note, this peak’s trees were gargantuan, like evergreens, yet the view was not monotonous. Amidst the green trees, there were large, blossoming flowers of every color, with countless bees zipping about.
Potent worldly spiritual qi assailed them, and even just breathing gave Qi Lin a sensation of being fresh and clean. A cool breeze caressed his face, and he seemed about to float away with the wind, making him feel carefree and relaxed.
Qi Lin had visited every secret wonder on Earth, and he had stayed at every beautiful landscape in the Western Primordial. But he had never experienced a place that could give one the pleasure of having time stand still as this.
All of Earth’s beautiful sceneries combined could not compare to this corner of Kunlun Mountain…Indeed, this was only one corner.
“Correct, Western Kunlun has 9,999 peaks. This is just one. Rumor has it that the Kunlun Void’s main peak, Jade Void Peak, is a Primordial Immortal Realm that has every kind of Holy Beast.” Ripples appeared in the air, and Wan Xinyi walked out. He retracted his arm, and that ripple’s center gathered itself into the treasure map and fell into his palm.
“They say that even cultivators must expend significant energy to cross the undulating Western Kunlun Mountains. They could even spend their entire lifetimes without having found an entrance. I never imagined we could enter Western Kunlun so quickly.” The black-robed old man named “Min Lao” was in awe.
Everyone’s lines of sights landed on that picture scroll in Wan Xinyi’s hand.
“Brother Wan’s Kunlun Map is truly a treasure. To think it can actually pass through the obstructions of Western Kunlun Mountain…I wonder where it came from.” The male cultivator was named “Kuang Wengong.” From his appearance, he appeared to be a very bold person, and he made no attempt at all to hide his thoughts.
His question was on everyone’s minds.
“For generations, the Wan Village has served the Queen Mother Of The West. This is a memento of our ancestors. Even I am not very sure of the details.” Wan Xinyi answered.
“Fellow Wan, can it be that you have never thought of going to pick Jade Leak Peaches with other cultivators before?” Qi Lin suddenly asked.
“Ha, ha, is this young man afraid that This Wan has ulterior motives?” Wan Xinyi laughed. He appeared very kind, and he spoke bluntly: “We previously recruited cultivators who came to Western Kunlun to search for treasures together, but they never went to search for the peaches.”
“Not the Jade Lake Peaches?”
“Why?”
“Has everyone forgotten? The Jade Lake Peaches need at least three thousand years to ripened. This time, because of the Register Of Deities’ activation, heavenly law has changed. On Western Kunlun Mountains, a large portion of Queen Mother Of The West’s Jade Lake Peach Tree grove is said to have ripened early. It is also said that she is preparing to reconvene a ‘once in ten thousand year’ Peach Banquet. I want to go see it this time.”
“En.”
Everyone saw his response concealed nothing, and they did not ask any further.
Qi Lin glanced at him but did not say another word.
“How do we proceed from here?” Min Lao asked.
Wan Xinyi opened the Kunlun Map, unfurling the scroll. A beautiful scene appeared before them. Then, as if put under a magnifying glass, their location on the mountain was clearly revealed, “We follow along this mountain range. In probably about five days, we can reach ‘Mountain of Little Xian, River of Goose Gate.’ That landmark has a place called ‘Valley of Two Burdens.’ We can find the other Jade Lake Peach Tree there.”
Hearing their clear route, the group all was at ease.
Mountain of Little Xian, River of Goose Gate, Valley of Two Burdens.
These words leapt into Qi Lin’s mind. Qi Lin’s brow slightly rose.
“Fellow Qi Lin, what is the matter?”
Wan Zhongnan asked with concern when he saw Qi Lin was somewhat apprehensive.
“Nothing.” Qi Lin smiled.
Wan Zhongnan grunted. At this time, he recalled something and said: “Right, for the sake of everyone’s safety, Lord Xinyi has prepared a few items for when we go to the Valley of Two Burdens. Just in case.”
Saying this, his Divine Intent moved. Light emerged from his bag, and several items appeared.
