Qi Lin followed Chang back to her party’s resting location. The surrounding woods encircled the open space they had carved out. The men and women were either meditating or chatting.

Hearing movement, they opened their eyes from meditation.

Upon seeing him, Qi Lin felt a heavy, unfriendly air press down upon him, as if to crush him. Though Qi Lin had just received Chang’s treatment, his body was somewhat weak, his pace suddenly faltering. When Xuanxuzi saw this scene, he disdainfully smiled.

“Why is it you again, we really can never be rid of you.”

“Are you following us?” The Divine Name of the team, Ancient Arrow Sovereign Hou Yi, opened her eyes, her gaze heavy as a mountain.

“Chang met with trouble while collecting herbs, and I happened to be helped by Big Brother Qi Lin.” Chang hastily explained. The girl actually was also very aware that Qi Lin’s cultivation was too weak. The team of cultivators were all Primordial Infant Realm. Even she was valued highly only because of her incredible medical skills. Put nicely, everyone had their own role to fulfill. Put bluntly, they were mutually exploiting each other.

Xuanxuzi naturally despised a cultivator without any distinct quality.

“Him again…Are we sure he did not bring this trouble upon us?” Xuanxuzi amicably smiled.

Chang was a bit embarrassed. “Big Brother Xuanxuzi…”

“You actually reached this place on your own?” Shi Xuan walked over at this time. She appeared to get along very well with Chang, and her smile was very gentle.

“Oh, yes. I also plan to try paying a visit to the Queen Mother Of The West. Of course, if you are unwilling to travel together, that is also fine.” Qi Lin replied with great magnanimity.

Shi Xuan furrowed her brow. Xuanxuzi also was taken aback. Only then did he carefully examine Qi Lin.

The place they had arrived at was already near the Nine Divine Gates, practically the depths of the Western Kunlun Mountains. An ordinary Golden Core cultivator could hardly reach this far on his own. Let alone the myriad ferocious Strange Beasts dwelling on the mountain, just the countless confusion arrays and clouds of miasma were sufficient to leave a cultivator dizzy and lost.

Xuanxuzi then looked at Qi Qi. Right now, Qi Qi was in her super innocuous personality, wholly “ordinary” from head to toe.

“En…Since this is the case, there is no harm in traveling together.” Shi Xuan smiled.

“Really?” Chang happily tugged Shi Xuan’s arms.

“En…Hou Yi, Xuanxuzi, what do yo think?” Shi Xuan asked.

Hou Yi did not say a word. She was very grave and stern, but she tacitly approved.

Xuanxuzi was unwilling to be the sole dissenter when he saw that they had all agreed. Furthermore, Qi Lin was currently very weak, completely not a threat. Perhaps they would encounter danger on the way to the Queen Mother Of The West. When that time came, those siblings were the best shields, not a bad plan. Thinking of this, Xuanxuzi put on a smile: “Then Your Servant shall not spoil the mood.”

“Where is Big Brother Gan Man?”

Chang asked.

“Gan Man went to find a route. We are waiting here for him.” Shi Xuan replied.

“What?” Qi Lin asked and finally learned that it turned out there was a dispute between them on whether to go to the main peak of Western Kunlun Mountain. Thus, they made Gan Man go path find. He was of the Great Shaman Clan and was very knowledgeable about mountain forests, having stayed at Western Kunlun for many years. Qi Lin also learned that this team was formed on the island; he was under the impression they had known each other for a long time.

They did not seem secure from this perspective.

Very quickly, Gan Man lugged a deer back to camp. That deer was quite large, its pelt soft and its antlers young and tender. Seeing this deer, Xuanxuzi and the rest swallowed back their saliva. Western Kunlun’s Spirit Beasts all cultivated on this immortal mountain, and its succulent and delicious meat emitted a thick spiritual power. Even ordinary beasts with incomplete Realms were not only delicious to cultivators, they were also very helpful in cultivation.

Chang explained the situation to Gan Man. This man whose expression seemed etched by blade simply nodded but did not say a word.

Then, everyone roasted this deer, splitting a portion for everyone to eat.

Western Kunlun’s Spirit Beasts were relatively difficult to pursue. Qi Lin had tried before, but his quarry ran like the wind, making use of this place’s mist to easily hide, particularly the deer. Despite this Gan Man’s large and stocky build, that he was able to catch this nimble Divine Deer, it appeared he was hiding his skills.

Everyone praised the flavor as they ate.

“How was it, did you find the exit?” Shi Xuan was concerned about this.

Gan Man shook his head.

“This place’s topography is too complicated, so I cannot be sure. I will need a few more days. If the obstruction array is dispelled, perhaps we can find the way out.” Gan Man gazed into the distance, into the thick white fog through which no figures could be seen.

“Then we will have to trouble you, Gan Man.” Shi Xuan was also aware that the Kunlun Void was not that easy to find. After all, it was the Divine Palace of the Queen Mother Of The West, one of the Ten Patriarchs. Even if it was right before them, the distance between them was still vast.

Qi Lin had the Kunlun Map, and there were actually feasible routes on it. However, he was disinclined to speak up. He was currently not yet fully recovered, and he feared the others would add Qi Qi and himself to the team as cannon fodder. It would be better to take advantage of the next few days to recover.

Everyone chatted as they ate roast deer. Xuanxuzi, Gan Man, Hou Yi, and Shi Xuan took advantage of every second they could to cultivate, yet Chang appeared very relaxed and leisurely.

On the second day, Chang sought out Qi Lin and invited him: “Big Brother Qi Lin, I’m going to gather medical materials. Do you want to go together?”

Qi Lin could not turn down this gentle expression.

After they left, Xuanxuzi pensively said to Shi Xuan: “Shi Xuan, do you not feel that Chang treats that Golden Core cultivator awfully well?”

Shi Xuan hid her smile: “This is not strange. According to what Sister Chang says, this young man has helped her twice, so of course she would feel safe around him. To a girl, it is simply cheating to meet a hero who saves the beauty.”

Xuanxuzi was not interested in the passions between men and women. He was honestly displeased to see the sole physician on the team treat the Golden Core cultivator with so much care and concern. A physician was a very specialized type of cultivator. Unlike normal cultivators, the worldly spiritual power they trained with could not be cultivated internally, though physicians were able to turn their spiritual power into qi that could heal.

Every wound on a cultivator’s body would leak the True Qi inside their body. Pills and medicines were merely a stop-gap; only physicians were capable of rapid healing. Whether in battle or otherwise, to have a physician was often very comforting.

Xuanxuzi’s cultivation was the highest among the team; he was a cultivator who had refined to Four Star Primordial Infant Middle Stage. By all rights, he should be receiving great adulation in every way, but that Chang had always treated everyone equally.

“Big Brother Xuanxuzi, do not mind him. Did you not see that Qi Lin was injured and very weak? Chang looks after him, as she should. If Big Brother Xuanxuzi is injured, would Chang not also care for you the same.”

“Hmph, how can I, a grand Primordial Infant, be as useless as that feeble young man.” Xuanxuzi said self-conceitedly.

Shi Xuan chuckled.

“I truly would like for this mist to hurry and disperse.” Xuanxuzi was impatient.

“Today, we will look at other places.” Shi Xuan said: “Sister Hou Yi, would you like to go together?”

Hou Yi stood up and walked into the mist on her own without so much as a word.

Seeing her rebuffed so coldly, Shi Xuan stuck out her tongue at Xuanxuzi: “Ancient Arrow Sovereign Hou Yi is a Divine Name of the Immemorial Royal Family. Big Brother Xuanxuzi, if we are unable to seek an audience with the Queen Mother, would you not say this was a wasted trip without killing a Divine Name and seizing her Destiny?”

Xuanxuzi’s brow rose as he forced a smile: “To think of raising your hand against Divine Name Hou Yi, Shi Xuan, you certainly are bold.”

“Shi Xuan does not believe you have never thought of this, Big Brother Xuanxuzi.” Shi Xuan grinned. The Destiny of a powerful Divine Name was a feat countless cultivators dreamed of.

“Who has not, but I know some things are better left unsaid.” Xuanxuzi flatly said.

Shi Xuan ruminated.
