When the young girl heard Qi Lin utter her name, she was like a startled rabbit.
“Your Servant is indeed.”
Qi Lin looked over Yu Shiqie. The young girl had voluminous hair adorned with a floral wreath. Her skin was white as snow, and she wore a silken white long robe, the collar of which sagged a bit, revealing her cleavage, while a jade ring acted as a button. The girl’s skirt was slit at the waist, revealing her long and slender jade legs. Two snake-shaped earrings hung from her ears, the left snake being green while the right was red. The Classic Of Mountains And Seas had a Yu Shiqie Kingdom as well as a god named as such, but she was not very famous. Qi Lin wondered how the two were related.
“Thank you for saving Your Servant’s life, Young Lord.” Yu Shiqie covered her cleavage, blushing slightly.
Seeing Hou Ji’s gaze was disdainful, only then did Qi Lin realize the girls thought he was leering at her chest.
The woman in Qi Lin’s dream guided him to come to Yunmeng Lake to search for “Knower Of All Things” Bai Ze, but to be honest, he had no clue at all how to reach Yunmeng Lake. Now, Yu Shiqie was pursued by the Heavenly Decree Palace, who claimed she knew the direction to Yunmeng Lake. He wondered to himself whether or not this was some mysterious coincidence.
“You are being pursued by that whatever Heavenly Lord of the Heavenly Decree Palace. I fear he won’t let the matter rest. It would be better if you travel with us.” Qi Lin thought for a moment. No matter what, he needed to keep the Yu Shiqie at his side for the time being; perhaps there would be some turning point going to Yunmeng Lake.
“Your Servant has no need…” Yu Shiqie hesitantly said, not at all feeling safe as she looked at the beauties and girls accompanying Qi Lin.
“Relax, you’re very safe staying near me.” Qi Lin winked at Hou Ji.
Hou Ji understood Qi Lin’s intent, “I am Hou Ji of the Ki Kingdom, servant of King Yu. Little Sister need not worry.”
“The Ji Kingdom’s King Yu.” Yu Shiqie was astonished, “So you turned out to be Elder Sister Hou Ji. Your Servant has been rude.” The girl promptly curtsied. The matter of Yu The Great helping control the Northern Primordial’s flood had already spread throughout the Northern Province. Many people knew that a Divine Name of the Shaman Clan had been toiling away for years to control the floods. In the minds of compassionate, Yu The Great was considered a wise ruler the likes of Yao and Shun.
“We are on orders from King Yu to go to Yunmeng Lake and search for clues on how to control the floods. If Little Sister Shiqie is willing, why not travel together. It just so happens we can look after you. The Heavenly Decree Palace’s powers are vast, and the Daoist Heavenly Lord’s magic energy is limitless. They most certainly will not leave matters alone.” Hou Ji held Yu Shiqie’s soft hand and spoke gently.
“Your Servant shall trouble everyone.” Yu Shiqie assented.
Along the way, Qi Lin asked about the reason she was being hunted and finally learned that the Heavenly Decree Palace had been searching for the entrance to the Yunmeng Lake for the past few years. When she was very little, Yu Shiqie had briefly stumbled across the Yunmeng Lake, so they believed she knew the entrance’s location.
“Did Lady Shiqie actually go there?” Qi Lin nonchalantly asked.
“How should Your Servant know.” Yu Shiqie shook her head: “Back then, Your Servant was just a little girl who did not even know what a Divine Name was.”
“So that’s what happened.” Regardless, that she had at least entered the Yunmeng Lake was a good piece of information.
“Right, what kind of sect is the Heavenly Decree Palace. Is it so formidable?” Qi Lin asked.
“The Heavenly Decree Palace is the Northern Primordial’s number one sect, with ‘expounding’ as its purpose. The sect leader is the Daoxing Tianzun. They say she received the favor of the Yuanshi Tianzun, and she runs amok in the Great Primordial’s Northern Province.”
“That is a bit annoying.” Qi Lin frowned. He did not expect the Heavenly Decree Palace’s influence to actually involve a sage like the Yuanshi Tianzun.
“Yes.” Hou Ji had wanted tos ay this all along, but she did not find a chance to back then.
“The Heavenly Decree Palace were the first to be unreasonable in their conduct this time, we need not fear her.” Changxi said.
“En, let us go to the Yunmeng Lake for now. Controlling the floods is the priority.”
“Young Lord, what Spirit Beast is this peacock, she is so beautiful.”
Yu Shiqie looked in awe at the peacock perched on Qi Lin’s shoulder.
“Baibai” stood on QI Lin’s shoulder. Its body was of ashen plumage, and its long tail feathers dragged like a skirt. The bird was graceful and mysterious, particularly its eyes that were multi-colored, gorgeous to the extreme, able to outshine even a jewel.
“May I pet it?” Yu Shiqie could not help but be mesmerized by the peacock’s beauty.
“Go ahead.” Qi Lin smiled.
Yu Shiqie reached out to stroke the peacock’s feathers, but how could she have anticipated that it would glare at her, seemingly with divine might. Yu Shiqie was startled and withdrew her hand. Hou Ji was already used to seeing this. The peacock was extremely proud; other than Qi Lin, no one else was able to approach it. Not even Qi Qi could.
Northern Province, an old wood deep in the mountains.
There was a sudden boom of thunder, and the bright sky instantly turned dark with black clouds, threaded with lightning.
A girl emerged from the black clouds with a lightning-like halberd in her hand.
The girl cut a very sorry figure, and her heart was filled with terror. Seeing that no one was pursuing her, she urgently descended into the forest and leaned against a pine and some rocks, resting awhile.
“Those shameless Three Doctrines. Today’s humiliation must be avenged!!” Before she could finish, she heard a gentle laugh behind her.
“The Immemorial Royal Family really is filled with people oblivious to how wide Heaven and Earth are. All of you should have been killed long ago.”
The girl turned her head to look when she heard this. She saw a tall woman who was neither of the Dao nor a layperson. She wore a helmet and Daoist robes, and slowly walked over with a Devil-felling Pestle in hand. The girl’s face was ashen as she shouted: “Wei Hu, you and I have no enmity, why do you hunt me.”
“It is the era of the Register Of Deities. The Immemorial Royal Family cannot escape its tribulation. Tian Yu, you can only blame this on the misfortunate of your emergence.” That woman sneered.
The Divine Name of the girl being chased was Tian Yu.1 She was a branch of the Immemorial Royal Family, and the girl was enraged upon hearing the woman’s words. “Despicable and shameless. If not for you killing my Emissary, how could you be a match for me.”
“Tian Yu, you can only blame this on your own stupidity, like your own name suggests.2 You actually contracted with an Emissary.” Wei Hu jeered.
Hearing this insult, Tian Yu could not control her rage and thrust the halberd in her hand.
Two claps of thunder descended from the sky.
Wei Hu did not even look. She raised the Devil-felling Pestle in her hand. This treasure was light as grass in her hand but heavy as Mount Tai when it struck a person. Tian Yu had experienced its might; her Emissary was a full God Transformation Realm, yet he was killed in a single blow, unable to put up any resistance. She herself had nearly died.
The halberd transformed in midair, becoming bolts of lighting and thunder that echoed through the sky that intercepted the Devil-felling Pestle. Wei Hu unleashed the pestle, which had myriad transformations. Magic treasure and weapon clashed for a hundred bouts. Wei Hu then activated the pestle again, which suddenly let out a muffled roar, like a celestial deity had just descended into the world. This was a Destined Skill, “Devil-felling Heavenly King.”
Tian Yu promptly covered herself with black clouds and pushed her Divine Energy to the limit, but she was no match for Wei Hu’s magic treasure in the end.
The Devil-felling Pestle pierced through the black clouds. Struck, Tian Yu screamed miserably, her eyes wide: “Chan Doctrine, you commit evil. The heavenly way will surely destroy you.”
“Hmph, the Chan Doctrine acts on Heaven’s behalf, how could you Immemorial Royal Family members ever understand.” The woman was disdainful and killed Tian Yu with the Devil-felling Pestle.
Wei Hu was filled with satisfaction as she refined Tian Yu’s Destiny, her eyes agleam with malice.
“This Immemorial Royal Family’s Destiny is exceptional indeed. If I can refine a hundred of them, perhaps I can be like those natural emperors of the Immemorial Royal Family and possess the qualities of a sage.”
A moment later, several disciples of the Heavenly Decree Hall appeared.
“Commander Wei Hu.”
“En, what is it.” Wei Hu said.
“Tianzun has decreed that Commanders Wei Hu, Han Dulong, and Xue Ehu shall advance towards Yunmeng Lake together.”
“Yunmeng Lake? What matter is worth mustering the three of us together?” Wei Hu asked.
“The disciples tasked with capturing Yu Shiqie have returned and reported. Yu Shiqie was rescued by a Primordial Infant Middle Stage Emissary. The three disciples destroyed their corporeal bodies and have sent for the commanders to investigate.”
“To be humiliated like this by a Primordial Infant Middle Stage Emissary, they truly are trash.” Wei Hu sneered.
Yunmeng Lake was a legend of the Great Primordial’s Northern Province. Because not a single trace of it had ever been found, it drew the desire of countless sects and powerful nations. All this time, the Heavenly Decree Palace was searching for a clue to the Yunmeng Lake.
“Understood, I will go prepare for a moment.”
“As you command.”
Several days later.
A white fog appeared at the end of the Guzhong Plains, thick and pervasive.
Qi Lin sent his thoughts into the fog, but it was like sending a clay ox into the ocean; he received no response at all.
“Is this place Yunmeng Lake?” Qi Lin asked.
“This place is not, but it is said that one can reach it by passing through this mist.” Hou Ji answered.
Yu Shiqie added: “This mist is rumored to be the ability of a powerful Star Name. There are many traps within, and the average Divine Name will find it difficult to pass through.”
“Lady Yu Shiqie, would you like to go in together with us. Perhaps you can recall how you originally entered Yunmeng Lake back then.” Qi Lin thought. This fog was too thick, and he was unable to even expand this thoughts. Since Yu Shiqie had passed through before, he was certain there was a reason.
Yu Shiqie looked at everyone and was about to answer.
All of a sudden, “Baibai” the peacock, who had been perched on Qi Lin’s shoulder, flapped its wings and did not hesitate to fly into the fog, leaving behind a red trail of light.
“Let’s hurry after it.” Qi Lin dashed forth.
Qi Qi, Changxi, Hou Ji, and Nezha immediately followed behind.
Yu Shiqie hesitated for a moment. Her Realm was weak, and she did not want to enter the mist. But the moment she turned, she suddenly sensed something and immediately retreated back into the mist.
The first layer of mist was quite thin, and she was able to vaguely make out the others’ figures.
“Keep close, don’t wander off.” Qi Lin exhorted.
The peacock left behind a very striking red trail through the fog, as if it was a red string guiding all of them. “Young Lord, it would be better to not follow the peacock blindly, otherwise things will be too dangerous.” Yu Shiqie worriedly said.
“I think this peacock seems to have come to Yunmeng Lake before.” Nezha inferred.
“In short, we follow it for now.” Qi Lin said.
The white fog swallowed their tracks. Not long after, a group of people also hurried into the mist-shrouded lake. They were none other than the Heavenly Decree Palace’s Three Great Commanders, led by Wei Hu. Behind them, there were also a hundred God Transformation Realm cultivators.
“Yu Shiqie and that man have already entered the fog.” A glum-faced woman said, her expression seemingly covered in dark clouds. Her voice was sinister and bone-chilling, making anyone who heard her sense ill intent.
She was “Fortune-increasing Divine General” Han Dulong. As her name suggested, she was not one to be trifled with.
“We shall follow behind them. Wait until after they enter the Yunmeng Lake to kill them, and then we can finally see just what this Yunmeng Lake conceals.” Another fierce-looking woman said.
“What Little Sister Ehu said is sensible. With the Register Of Deities active, it is time to see just what this Yunmeng Lake has.” Wei Hu nodded in agreement.
They all entered the mist and also spotted the string-like red light that remained in the mist. The white mist was thick, obscuring everything. Wei Hu and her party stuck close and followed the red line.
Meanwhile.
Qi Lin continued following the red line, but soon, the figures of Qi Qi and the others were already completely gone. He was unable to even sense their breathing. He could vaguely sense Changxi and Qi Qi were close by, owing to their contracts. Qi Lin knew this fog was a trick, however, so long as he followed the red line that the peacock left behind, things were fine.
Walking awhile, QI Lin noticed that this white fog was a bit special, like dried glue. Although the mist would disperse as he moved through it, if he did not move, space itself seemed to freeze.
All of a sudden, the fog abated at last. It parted, and a path through was revealed.
Qi Lin was taken aback and stopped.
A man and woman walked out slowly from the path. Upon seeing them, Qi Lin was shocked.
Surprisingly, they were the first Divine General and Emissary duo he encountered when he came to Primordial World, “Great Emperor of Eastern Hell” Huang Feihu and Pang Bi.
An illusion?
Qi Lin held his breath.
Huang Feihu expressionlessly stared at Qi Lin. In her hand was a long saber; surprisingly, it was the Divine Weapon “Shattered Hell.” Without even thinking, Huang Feihu raised her long saber and hacked at Qi Lin. Pang Bi also saw his opportunity and took action. He wielded the Asura Devil Shield and pointed his fingers repeatedly; this was the Nine Fingers Of Hell.
If he had faced such teamwork originally, Qi Lin honestly would have faced slim odds, but now, Qi Lin had defeated the Yin Shang, crossed Kunlun, attacked the Eastern Sea, and achieved great martial success. No longer the same as before, he did not need to fear Divine Names here.
“Who cares if you’re an illusion or not, I’ll destroy you first.”
Qi Lin used the Dual Modes Seal, suppressing Huang Feihu’s saber-qi. Then, he switched to the Heavenly Vertical Earthly Horizontal Escape to dodge Pang Bi’s Asura Devil, but the Nine Fingers Of Hell struck Qi Lin, its “demons and monsters” perfected.
Qi Lin counterattacked. He had cultivated the Sun And Moon Essence and the Heaven And Earth Fortune Body to Four Yins Four Yangs already.
How could Pang Bi be a match for the Nine Fingers Of Hell that Qi Lin wielded. Pang Bi’s figure became a cloud of black qi and dispersed. At the same time, an immense pressure slammed into Qi Lin’s face. He cast a sidelong glance and saw that Huang Feihu had already activated the Weight Of Mount Tai, furiously slashing down at his head.
Qi Lin leaned to the side and grabbed the Meteoric Iron Divine Staff.
The staff clashed with Shattered Hell hundreds of times in an instant. Qi Lin’s staff techniques were increasingly proficient, forcing Huang Feihu into retreat step by step. He then used the “Direct Cover Yellow Dragon” technique, smashing the iron staff straight down into the woman’s head like a meteor.
Instantly, her figure also vanished.
“An illusion?” Qi Lin noticed this was not like an illusion. The Holy Beast Qilin’s heart was within him, so it was difficult for the average illusion to deceive him. Qi Lin saw that the red line yet remained and immediately followed it.
Not long after, small paths opened one after another in the mist, like gates swinging open one after another.
Countless figures emerged from these gates, including many never-before-seen Demon Beasts. These Demon Beasts poured out endlessly, making Qi Lin curse under his breath as he brandished the Annihilation Pearl.
The Annihilation Pearl unleashed its black light, destroying an enormous swathe of Demon Beasts.
But immediately after, the white mist above opened like a window.
Several hundred figures flew out from these windows, and these figures were all ethereal immortals who had cultivated and attained enlightenment. These True Immortals were far thornier to deal with compared to Demon Bests, and their hands emitted countless sword-lights, pouring down into this frozen time and space like a torrential rain.
Qi Lin’s hands formed the Dual Modes Seal: Birth And Destruction, dispelling the sword-lights, but immediately after, the ground beneath him caved in. A series of pits formed like bloody maws, and unspeakably malevolent phantoms crawled out from these mouths, their long arms reaching out and grabbing his legs.
“What are these things.”
Qi Lin grit his teeth and stomped, smashing apart the demonic hands. He soared upwards, but the surrounding mist endlessly parted, revealing windows, gates, and pits everywhere around him. As far as the eye could see, there were despairingly large holes.
Demon Beasts, True Immortals, and phantoms continuously scuttled out from these openings; they were endless.
Qi Lin was surrounded, yet he was more worried for Changxi and the others’ safety. He was inwardly furious and was about to activate the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banners.
“Use not the banners, that wastes magical energy.”
A voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
“This treasure is the ‘Mirror Of All Ghosts, Demons, And Immortals.’ The more you entangle, the more futile your efforts.”
Mirror Of All Ghosts, Demons, And Immortals!
Qi Lin was delighted and depressed. He was delighted because the Mirror was the legendary magic treasure of Bai Ze, which demonstrated that Bai Ze was most certainly at Yunmeng Lake. He was depressed because he was basically unable to extricate himself from the Mirror Of All Ghosts, Demons, And Immortals.
This magic treasure was too formidable, and he thought it was perhaps Approaching Heaven-level.
Qi Lin brainstormed and fished out his Dark Heaven magic treasure, loosing an arrow into the depths of the white mist.
The Cloud-piercing Arrow shot forth. All of a sudden, the Mirror Of All Ghosts, Demons, And Immortals let loose a bloodcurdling shriek.
