Zhen East, Mount Changyou.
The mountain was covered in strange, jagged rocks, devoid of vegetation. Rolling waves of heat from underground made the overflowing river seem to boil. This mountain was normally high in temperature and rarely visited by cultivators. Now that it was flooded, even fewer cultivators were here to train under these heated waters.
A woman appeared on Mount Changyou. She rode upon a luxurious carriage, wore a magnificent dress, and a golden mark like the sun was on her forehead.
The carriage was towed by several yellow dragons. Even the emperor of the Zhu Kingdom could have such a procession.
“Your Majesty, we have arrived at Changyou.”
A female bodyguard in front of the carriage pointed at volcanic cavern of Mount Changyou.
The woman on the carriage was none other than Xuanyuanshi. She opened her eyes that were like stars, twinkling with a cold radiance.
The entrance of this cavern rolled and jolted. A powerful Divine Energy emanated from inside, and this Divine Energy formed a barrier on the outside such that ordinary cultivators would not notice it. “It seems he was right.” Xuanyuan ruminated.
“Please allow Feng to slay this demon on your behalf, Your Majesty.” The woman requested orders.
“No need. It is a High Ancient Demonkin, after all. Today, We shall slay one.” Xuanyuanshi disembarked and drew a simple long sword out of thin air. With just a single step, she was instantly inside the mountain.
Inside Mount Changyou.
The rolling heat waves surged into the clouds. Xuanyuan ignored it as she descended to bottom of the chamber. The interior of Mount Changyou was a very large volcanic cavern, surprisingly reaching millions of degrees of heat, sufficient to easily evaporate the magical energy of a Primordial Infant cultivator. Very quickly, Xuanyuanshi noticed a Demon Beast inside the cavern. This Demon Beast had four ears and was covered in fiery fur. It stood inside an array; this array was arranged very peculiarly, with layers of mystery within. From Xuanyuanshi’s judgment, she could see the changes of the Heavenly Spirits and Earthly Fiends.
A page floated inside this array.
This page was blank, but it was evidently the array eye. The Changyou was casting a spell on the page, and characters endlessly warped and change don the page.1
“Demon, desist immediately.”
The woman spat. Her voice was very soft, but each word was full of thunder-like menace and pressure.
The Changyou raised its hackles and suddenly whirled around. When it saw Xuanyuanshi, it showed an astonished expression.
“The Eight Demons are sowing chaos. Dispatching you all will be one of Our feats, one that will name us emperor in the future. We shall take your head.” Xuanyuanshi said.
The Changyou bared its teeth and swung its long arms. Fierce killing intent shot forth as if it was substantial.
Xuanyuanshi casually waved her hand, dispelling its baleful ara. As lord of the Northern Primordial, a High Ancient Divine Realm Demonkin was nothing special to her.
The Changyou lunged. Its glowing red eyes made Xuanyuanshi feel quite surprised. Those two long arms wielded vast Divine Energy, and the creature firmly seized Xuanyuanshi’s arms. Xuanyuanshi attacked with her sword, “Is this all the legendary High Ancient Demonkin are capable of? No wonder you went extinct.” Xuanyuanshi pursed her lips.
The Changyou screamed and vanished into the void.
Leaving a red afterimage in this woman’s retinas.
Silently, a force that was powerful to the extreme was already descending upon her.
A gleam flickered through her eyes. She suddenly raised an arm to protect her front. Xuanyuan did not even dodge, for the air surrounding her body gusted fiercely, indicated she wanted to take this attack head-on.
“Bang!!”
Their energies collided. In an instant, two immense forces suddenly made a short exchange on her arms.
Red light flashed and exploded. The Changyou was knocked out of its void, retreating a hundred paces. Deep footprints were suddenly left in the hard volcanic ground in front of it.
The Changyou’s figure stumbled, unable to regain its balance. The demon’s expression was already extremely shocked. Those fiery eyes endlessly twinkled. It snorted, for a clear line of blood had already appeared on its chest.
“The High Ancient Demonkin are extremely rare. We originally wanted to capture you, but that man said that the Eight Demons are a scourge that must be exterminated…How truly vexing.” Xuanyuan sighed.
The Changyou frantically spread its arms and launched a wild assault.
Xuanyuanshi raised her longsword in response.
Woman and monkey exchanged swift blows in the volcano. Xuanyuanshi was extremely calm, as if she was on a stroll, leisurely wielding her sword in defense. The Changyou used all of its Divine Energy but was still no match. The glow of the sword in Xuanyuan’s hand began t change. Her Destined Divine Weapon, the “Xuanyuan Sword” was named after herself. Known to all in the Northern Primordial, one side of the blade was etched with the sun, moon, and stars. The other side was engraved with mountains, rivers, and plants. One side of the hilt recorded the art of animal husbandry while the other had strategies for unifying the four seas.
This Divine Weapon was born an emperor, seizing the fortune of the Immemorial Royal Family. The Ancient Demonkin sensed the divine might on the blade and already showed apprehension.
Seeing it was no match for her, the Changyou suddenly turned its head and began to flee. “Thinking of running?” Xuanyuanshi sneered. She stepped forward and used “Dragon-riding Heavenly Ascension.” Passing directly by the Changyou, the Xuanyuan Sword’s light was bright as day. The Changyou’s body techniques came to an abrupt stop. Its body had already been cleaved in two, dying in grief under the sword.
Having easily dispatched the Changyou, Xuanyuanshi lifted her gaze and watched that page magic treasure in the array. Having lost the Changyou’s support, the array immediately dimmed while the page fell into her palm.
“What is this magic treasure?” Xuanyuanshi could not make sense of it, but she sensed that this page contained unfathomable Divine Energy.
She looked around the volcanic chamber, and seeing no other Demonkin, she slashed with her sword, thoroughly destroying this cave before finally leaving Mount Changyou.
Feng Hou and the others were already at the cave entrance, respectfully welcoming her return.
“Rise, return to the palace. We are weary.” Xuanyuanshi propped up her chin with one of her hands. The other gripped that thin page, her thoughts unclear.
…
Li territory, Kan North.
Mount Yang. A terrifying Demon Beast was currently traversing the mountain stream. This demon had the face of a human but the body of a jackal. ON its back were two wings, and its locomotion was like a snake’s, squirming about. The beast’s voice was like a wailing infant, yet it was also like a woman uttering curses. Every time it opened its mouth, the surrounding floodwaters would surge like an army and emanate powerful divine might.
In it surroundings, a dozen women were rapidly encircling it. Very quickly, this demon was trapped.
When the Demon Beast was surrounded, its cries became even more unpleasant, but the towering waves that struck these women could not budge them in the slightest.
These women were all identical to one another, as if they were demons. With every step they took, the world quaked.
The Huashe curled into a ball like a frightened sheep when it head an apathetic voice come from the top of the mountain. “The Northern Primordial is This Lord’s domain. That a Demon Beast like you dares to stir trouble, This Lord shall take your Demon Core today for a snack.”
The dozen identical women were Chiyou.
The Chiyou threw themselves towards the Huashe, tearing apart its scales and flesh with brute strength alone. How could the Huasha be able to ward off such a terrifying demon god. In an instant, its flesh was rend apart, and under Chiyou’s trampling, it died in mere moments.
One Chiyou clone hefted the Huashe and walked towards the peak.
On the peak, a small figure could be seen from far away. Dressed in rags, she sat on the mountain and looked down upon the Great Primordial. Small as her figure was, her back exuded boundless might. Even the Chiyou clone was insignificant before her.
“Fuzhu…It would be for the best if you can kill it.”
She muttered to herself.
…
Zhen East, Li South, Kan North, Qian Northwest, Kun Southwest, Gen Northeast, and Xun Southeast.
Ji Yu, Yu The Great, and the other chiefs began to find and kill the Eight Demons one by one. Meanwhile, Qi Lin had encountered a problem.
Qi Lin had searched all over Mount Ao’an for days until he finally located the Fuzhu on a lake.
But the moment he first laid eyes on this beast, Qi Lin was a bit flabbergasted.
The Fuzhu had four antlers. At the center of its pure white body was a seven-colored pattern. The beast tread upon blue clouds, and its horns were particularly beautiful, sparkling like gems. The Fuzhu faced skyward while the lake had a magic formation erecting a barrier. A page floated in the air.
From head to toe, the Fuzhou brimmed with spiritual power, as if it was beloved by Heaven and Earth. It was no exaggeration to call it a Divine Beast.
If not for Bai Ze’s explanation that it was one of the causes of the flood, Qi Lin would have not dared believed it at all.
“Mortal, why do you intrude into my domain.” The Fuzhu stared at Qi Lin and spoke.
Primordial Demon Beasts all inherited the ability of the High Ancient Demonkin to cultivate human forms. That it was capable of human speech was not strange, but its voice was uniquely beautiful, giving off the feeling of a melody.
“You are the Fuzhu?” Qi Lin asked first.
The Fuzhu stared at him with multi-colored eyes.
Qi Qi was impatient: “Just die.” She grabbed the Jingu Bang and launched an attack on the Fuzhu. The Great Sage Equal Of Heaven showed no pity; she had come to Mount Ao’an solely to kill the Fuzhu.
But the Fuzhu stamped its foot, raising a curtain of water. A halo appeared in the air, surprisingly keeping Qi Qi at bay.
“This One is under the protection of Emperor Yao. Why do you wish to kill This One?” The Fuzhu calmly asked.
Qi Lin already saw it was utilizing the formation. He knew he could no longer hesitate and coldly said: “You are the reason behind the flooding in the Northern Primordial. You are the Divine Beast protected by Emperor Yao, but now that you have incited floods, inflicting suffering on the people, you deserve to die.”
“Deserve to die?!”
The Fuzhu’s tone was full of disdain for these words.
“Even the Northern Primordial’s Xuanyuan must be a bit humble when seeing This One. Who would dare to use the word ‘death’ against me.”
Qi Lin did not waste his breath on her. The multi-colored light on the Fuzhu was extremely enchanting, such that even uttering one more word risked bewitchment. He wielded the Heaven-shaking Bow and Cloud-piercing Arrow. He unleashed a Jian Destroys Six Kingdoms, and six arrow-lights descended upon the Fuzhu like shooting stars.
The rainbow barriers were broken in succession, slightly surprising even the Fuzhu. “Dark Heaven magic treasure?”
“Cloud-piercing Arrow!”
The six arrow-lights combined into one, and the Cloud-piercing Arrow shot towards the Fuzhu’s head.
The Fuzhu swung its enormous multi-colored antlers, surprisingly freezing the Cloud-piercing Arrow in midair. Qi Lin was shocked, unexpectedly sensing that his Divine Intent had lost its link to the Cloud-piercing Arrow. Already, he was no longer able to control the magic treasure. “This One is a Divine Beast under the protection of Emperor Yao. With what virtue or ability do you dare to be so impudent before This One.”
Having lost its spiritual power, the Cloud-piercing Arrow fell at the Fuzhu’s feet. Then, an enormous white light surged and struck Qi Lin.
“Hè.” Qi Qi brandished the Jingu Bang. Her figure leapt forward, and she used a Destined technique.
But an inconceivable scene appeared. The Jingu Bang struck at the Fuzhu’s body several times, only for its power to dissipate inches from the Fuzhu’s body. Qi Qi surprisingly was unable to muster any power, and even the Jingu Bang could hardly push another inch forwards. She was sent flying backwards by the Fuzhu’s Divine Energy.
“Huh?”
Qi Qi regained her footing, not daring to believe this.
“What is happening?” Qi Lin broke free of the Fuzhu’s power and felt bewildered. Qi Qi’s Divine Energy was sufficient to handle High Ancient Divine Realm, yet she was surprisingly unable to pose even the slightest threat.
The Fuzhu gracefully frolicked over the water, its hooves kicking up mist. It paid them no mind as it continued use the magic formation on that page with its eyes closed.
“This One has already said she is under Emperor Yao’s protection. You cannot bring harm to This One.”
“The Primal Chaos Five Emperors are formidable, as expected. With just protective Divine Energy, you can survive the millennia indestructible, rendering High Ancient Divine Names unable to harm you.” Qi Lin had broadened his horizons: “A pity that Emperor Yao’s wisdom was brought to ruin because of you. The Divine Beast it once protected has surprisingly inflicted suffering upon all things. If Emperor Yao were to emerge in this world again, she would likely rip you apart.”
“How can mere mortals understand This One’s intentions.” Fuzhu quietly executed the array.
Qi Lin did not care for whatever intentions it had. Unless he killed the Fuzhu, the floods would never quell, and all things would fall to an irreversible calamity. But he attacked the Fuzhu together alongside Qi Qi. No matter their tricks, there was an invisible barrier around the Fuzhu shielding it; He and Qi Qi were unable to fully wield their powers.
“Big Brother, this will not work. The Demon Beast is too strange.” Qi Qi scratched her ear, a bit at a loss of what to do.
“I actually want to see whether or not it can stop an Approaching Heaven magic treasure.”
Qi Lin grit his teeth and moved his intent. The twelve Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banners suddenly appeared out of thin air, arranging themselves in the twelve directions around the Fuzhu. The banners flapped, and primordial qi suddenly blanketed the multi-colored divine light.

So, who was that mystery lady?
Who knows, but I think it’s likely the peacock’s human form. That’s the trope for these things, anyways.
