Cultivators cultivated Primordial True Qi, circulating qi throughout their bodies. The first seven devas were like an eddy, but at the Eighth Deva, the True Qi needed to link to the Heavenly Spirit meridians.

There were two parts to the Heavenly Spirit meridians, one was a sea that governed the Yin meridians, and the other was a sea that governed the Yang meridians. When Yin and Yang interconnected, Primordial True Qi would become endless, and the eddy of True Qi in the body would become like a deva, hovering in midair. Only then was one genuinely Qi Refinement Ninth Deva. But this was the difference between Heaven and Earth. To link Primordial True Qi from earth to the “Heavenly Meridians” required a cultivator to train for many years, continuously attacking their own meridians, to make Primordial True Qi endlessly metamorphosize. Day after day, night after night of arduous polishing, a year at least, decades at most, one would finally forge the bridge to Heavenly Meridians and link their qi to the Heavenly Spirit meridians. It could be said that linking to the Heavenly Spirit meridians was the most challenging bottleneck that required massive effort for a Qi Refinement cultivator.

But under Prince Changqin’s music, that mysterious tune has pulled their True Qi around. The bridge to the Heavenly Meridians that seemed achievable only with time was created under the sound of her music. Their Primordial True Qi easily linked to the Heavenly Spirit meridians’ sea of Yin meridians. Shang Yangjun smoothly reached Qi Refinement Eighth Deva. Although Qi Lin was only Qi Refinement Sixth Deva, so long as he was able to breakthrough to Seventh, he could enter the Heavenly Meridian bridge at any time he wished and enter Eighth Deva Realm.

True Qi circulation would show on the body, but no longer like an eddy as before. Rather, it would be like layers of heavenly canopies that made the cultivator also appear as magnificent as a celestial.

“A close friend is hard to meet, a close friend hard to find. Your Servant shall give you a small gift…” The woman’s finger gently plucked the guqin’s strings, and with a twang, a spirit-light like a raging river shot into the flute. That originally ordinary wooden flute metamorphosized under the spirit-light, surprisingly adorned with an exquisite bird design over its body. The entire wooden flute had seemed to transform into a phoenix flapping its wings in dance.

“Your Servant bestows upon you this ‘Four Seas Seeks Phoenix Song.’1 If one day you encounter danger, blow it. Perhaps it can help you.”

Prince Changqin’s brows rose, and her graceful fingers plucked the guqin strings.

A tune like a flowing river trickled through their hearts.

If not for their rush towards Zhaoge, Qi Lin and Shang Yangjun truly would have wished to stay here to listen to this woman’s heavenly music for the rest of their lives.

A cloud of mist dispersed in front of the two, becoming an open gate.

“Many thanks, Sister Changqin. Let us meet again someday, Elder Sister.” Qi Lin cupped his fist.

Shang Yangjun also bowed.

“Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin, should you be interested, Your Servant can continue playing with you at the Northern Diyao Mountain2 in the Western Wildlands.” Prince Changqin strummed the guqin strings and issued an invitation.

Qi Lin and Shang Yangjun respectfully saluted. Then, they entered the gate of white mist. Following the gate closing shut, the white mist completely abated. This place once again was without other silhouettes, leaving only lingering music and phoenix dance.

The mountain forest was serene, the guqin music lasting.

“Your Distinguished Self has listened for so long, perhaps Your Servant’s ‘Flowing Waters’ has moved you?”

Prince Changqin closed her eyes, plucked the strings, and softly asked.

A girl’s figure walked out from the mountain mist. She was very young, and an ordinary animal pelt wrapped around her body. Her eyes were bright and full of expression.

She bared her cute fangs, showing an expression that disdained to appreciate music.

“This Old Sun is unable to understand this.”

“It seems Your Servant’s music is not yet proficient enough.”

“Enough talk. That you caused my big brother trouble has upset This Old Sun very much.” Qi Qi was eager to battle.

“He has already gone to Zhaoge. If you wish to go, too, that will depend on whether or not you can listen to Your Servant’s song until the end.” Prince Changqin pressed a finger on her guqin, pushing the string, producing a clear note.

Two notes like wind blew upon Qi QI’s body.

Puff.

The guqin music stopped.

Qi Qi did not budge at all, but two bloody gashes surprisingly appeared in her palm.

“Great Sage, be careful. Her Realm is very high.” The white ape hid and warned her.

The Great Sage Equal Of Heaven had an iron body. So long as the weapon did not surpass her Realm, it would be very difficult to harm her, but this opponent merely used music to produce a wound on her. It was plainly visible her Realm was higher. Prince Changqin was very surprised. Her guqin music was sufficient to disintegrate a ten thousand ton boulder, yet it hardly moved the girl.

“Perhaps you have the qualifications to listen to this song.” The woman faintly grinned.

“Hè!”

Her ruthless qi exploded. Qi Qi stomped her foot and shook the earth, shocking the animals in the forest into fleeing, interrupting the flow of the waterfall.

Prince Changqin’s fingers plucked the guqin strings. The strings of silver light released resplendent rays of light, producing a melodious sound, note by note, starting and stopping, yet there was a sort of sad, downpour-like prelude that dimmed Heaven and Earth.

The great wind became blades, cutting one after another at Qi Qi.

The wind blades were even more terrifying than those used against Qi Lin before. Contained inside was Divine Energy. Even a cultivator’s magic treasure could be cut apart with this. Sun Wukong brandished her fists, and her iron fist and bronze body surprisingly resisted the incoming blades, using brute strength to break the guqin music.

The flying blades were shattered by Qi Qi’s iron fist, but Prince Changqin was not flustered. Her plucking posture was still graceful, neither rushed nor slow, more natural than running water. Her slender fingers plucked the strings, and the staccato notes began to fiercely release thundering booms, like a bird flapping its wings.

The guqin music was born from the ground. The melody trapped Qi Qi’s pace, and these notes whirled around her, bringing enormous pressure crushing towards her.

“Dammit, dammit, dammit.” Qi Qi covered her ears and ruthlessly howled. She pounded the musical notes entrapping her.

Prince Changqin was completely merciless. Her ten fingers plucked the strings with increasing speed. The music that at first sounded like an endless downpour now sounded like a collapsing mountain. While the tune was beautiful, it carried an intent that flooded the heavens, “Yao-yao goes the bugs in the grass, hop-hop go the numerous grasshoppers;  having not seen my lord, my heart is sick and restless…I climb the southern hill, gather up the bracken; having not seen my lord, my heart is worried and uncertain…”

The woman softly sang, her music becoming manifold, every note piercing the heart more sharply than a blade.

“Huh?”

Qi Qi was in incomparable agony listening to this music.

Prince Changqin’s hand suddenly and gracefully pushed forth. The note surged like a tidal wave and swatted Qi Qi.

The girl was knocked back by the musical wave.

“Having not seen my lord, my heart is sorrowful.”

Prince Changqin’s “Wind of the Grass and Bugs” could be said to have reached a sublime level. The invincible music and wind continuously attacked, and the clothes and armor on Qi QI’s body were torn with numerous cuts. Under the assault of the music, Qi Qi could hardly approach Prince Changqin. “Dammit!!!” Qi Qi’s eyes flared with malice. Her figure stretched, inconceivably crossing the more than hundred zhang distance between them. The guqin wind music was instantly ripped apart, and her iron fist hurtled straight for Prince Changqin’s beautiful forehead.

This punch seemed to contain the might to break a hundred thousand celestial troops and generals. The mountaintop was about to disintegrate under her punch.

Hundred Thousand Heavenly Soldiers Break!

“Hm.” Prince CHangqin narrowed her eyes. Her hand posture changed, and her fingers plucked the guqin strings, producing the Shao music from a moment ago. The perfect tune surprisingly put an end to this Destined power. The woman’s slender fingers plucked and played the ending notes.

With a crash.

The string sliced against QI QI’s body like a blade, repelling her.

The waterfall once again crashed with splashing waves, and the wind began to blow again, too.

Qi Qi picked herself up. Her wounds were not serious, but the several dozen gashes were very appalling to see.

“You are Great Sage Equal Of Heaven Sun Wukong??” Prince Changqin raised her brow and stopped her music.

“Hm, so what if I am.” Qi Qi wiped the blood from her mouth. This woman is a bit formidable.

“I never imagined His Distinguished Self Qi Lin’s Divine name contract would actually be with the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven.” Prince Changqin sighed. She was not in the mood to play music.

“Hmph.”

Qi Qi threw a punch.

Prince Changqin’s finger flicked a string. A note sent the girl flying away.

Qi Qi landed on the ground. The flesh on her hand seemed to have been sliced open by a blade.

“Sun Wukong, you do not even have your Divine Weapon, the Ruyi Jingu Bang. You are not match for Your Servant right now.” Prince Changqin’s finger rolled her black hair flowing over her shoulders. She smiled: “The previous Great Sage Equal Of Heaven caused quite the ruckus, which made Yuanshi Tianzun make a considerably ugly face. You are also considered one of the reasons the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court fell in such a short time. The Great Sage Equal Of Heaven is without karma, naturally born from the fortune of Heaven and Earth, but not an Invested Deity. Countless people wish to seize your Destiny, Sun Wukong. I never thought that my close friend would surprisingly have a Divine Name like you. This truly is anything but reassuring.”

“I will not let them hurt Big Brother.” Qi Qi grit her teeth.

“Your Divine Name has only just awakened, you are too weak. You not even a match for Your Servant. Who could believe such words.” Prince Changqin pursed her lips: “If not for the fact Qi Lin is Your Servant’s close friend, I should have seized your Destiny, Sun Wukong. By refining that Heaven And Earth Fortune Spirit Stone Divine Nest3 Destiny, Your Servant presumably can also break free of the Register of Deities.”

“Come and eat it if you can.” Qi Qi sneered, releasing her ruthlessness.

Prince Changqin smiled, “Your Servant prefers my close friend compared to your Destiny, but in the future, it would be for the best if nothing happened to him because of you.”

“Where in the world can I find my close friend.”

The woman softly sighed, her tone lonely and melancholy. Her fingers plucked the guqin strings, and the phoenix danced beside her.

Thereupon.

The white mist wrapped around and covered the area.

The guqin music in the mist grew increasingly faint. By the time Qi Qi charged through the mist, Prince Changqin’s figure was already gone from the peak, leaving only a clear and cold echo of her guqin.

“You were reckless, Great Sage. It is fortunate that Great Sage’s big brother is her close friend. Otherwise, this would have been dangerous.” The white ape had lingering fears. This Prince Changqin’s Realm was clearly already far above Middle Ancient Divine Realm.

Qi Qi expressionlessly looked at the cuts on her hands. The open injuries slowly healed under her Divine Energy, but she was nevertheless unable to wipe away the unreconciled feeling in her heart.

If she had her Divine Weapon, the “Ruyi Jingu Bang,” how could this trifling guqin music ever injure her.

Qi QI listened to the guqin music in the mountains and rivers, slowly calming down.

The echo lingered in the mountains for another decade.

  1. Y’know. As much as I like Qi Qi… I’m actually glad she got steamrolled since Sun Wukong is so stupidly OP by default. But, does the harem grow!?

    1. I don’t know if there’s going to be a significant harem aspect to this, but it was refreshing to see Sun Wukong get thrashed a bit. It’s not usually the case that a hero gets their ass handed to them…
