Qi Qi’s evil and demonic aura was wicked as her staff swung towards them.

Guiguzi Wang Xu was unperturbed.

The Meteoric Iron Divine Staff stopped a mere inch away from her forehead. Qi Qi smirked, “You’ve got guts, to actually show no reaction at all.” In the prior battle, she naturally saw that Guiguzi Wang Xu and Su Qin had taken her side. This attack was just to see just how bold these two women were.

Although Su Qin had been scared pale, Guiguzi’s calm indifference caught the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven off guard.

Qi Qi snorted. She looked around; Wen Zhong, Di Xin, and the rest were already gone. The girl took a deep breath and slowly dispelled her evil qi. The qilin’s Divine Energy on her body also gradually faded. “Big Brother.” Qi Qi skipped over in front of Qi Lin.

“Are you hurt?” Qi Lin asked, concerned.

Qi Qi shook her head. The power of the qilin’s blessing just now made her feel exceptionally great, an insufferably arrogant power.

“Were you gone so long because you were forging a staff??” Qi Lin felt something was different about the crimson iron staff in Qi Qi’s hand.

Qi Qi twirled the Meteoric Iron Divine Staff, a proud grin on her face.

Su Qin was still in shock. She watched the two chat and asked in a bit of disbelief: “Junior Brother, I never thought you were actually an Invested Deity Emissary, and is this Divine Name that Great Sage Equal Of Heaven?”

“Her name is Qi Qi.” Qi Lin introduced her.

Qi Qi stowed her staff and glanced disapprovingly at Su Qin.

“Long have I heard of your fame. Thank you for your intervention, Great Sage. Otherwise, it truly would not have been easy to sort this matter out.” Su Qin had some lingering fears. Even with all their planning, they did not consider that lingering remnant roped in by the Great Zhou, Wen Zhong, would also reckon that the Holy Beast would appear in the western regions. They had no power to counter any actions the imperial tutor took; fortunately, an even stronger Divine Name arrived to check her.

Recalling the Holy Beast, everyone turned their gazes to the qilin.

The Holy Beast Qilin was on its last breaths, and the divine light over its body had dimmed and faded. That jewel-like scale armor seemed more like ordinary rock. This was the portent of dissipation in a Destiny. This Holy Beast’s Destiny was originally drawing near, and having been critically wounded by the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner in addition to also using its Divine Energy to protect Qi Lin, it was now already too late.

If one were to kill this Holy Beast now and consume its Destiny, then their Realm would explosively increase. Su Qin thought Qi Lin would do this, but Qi Lin asked: “Is there any way to to save you?”

The Holy Beast growled, “Why do you want to save Me!”

“My true name is Qi Lin. You and I are connected. You are the fortune of Heaven and Earth, the Holy Beast that watches over the Center. And killing isn’t easy for me. Of course I want to save you.” Qi Lin matter-of-factly said.

“Qi Lin?” The Holy Beast’s eyes glimmered: “I sensed My aura from thy body. I indeed am connected to thee, otherwise, I would not have used My Divine Energy to protect thee.”

Qi Lin smiled. In the past, he and his senior sister had excavated the remains of a suspected qilin from Emperor Wu’s ruins. At the time, he and his senior sister had spent a lot of effort to finally reinter these remains at the “Auspicious Clouds” treasure grounds. To speak of aura, it could only be this.

“You two really are connected.” Su Qin said in astonishment.

“If you want to go to the Western Province, I can help you.” Guiguzi said.

“Even if I go to the Western Province and seek out a saint, that would be no more than a struggle at death’s door. Instead, I would rather return to primal chaos.” The Holy Beast proudly raised its head.

Hearing its decision, everyone was helpless.

“I shall give thee something, and I hope that thou dost cherish it.” The Holy Beast spat out a greenish jewel. This jewel was like a crystal, glimmering and lustrous, magic clouds lingering about it. This qilin core entered Qi Lin’s forehead, instantly submerging in his mind. Very quickly, it disappeared without a trace.

Then, the Holy Beast turned and became an escape-light that fled far into the Western Primordial.

“Then could this be the Holy Beast’s inner core?” Su Qin asked in astonishment.

“Not quite.” Wang Xu shook her head, “Do you feel unwell anywhere?”

“No.” Qi Lin sensed that qilin core was already gone without a trace in his mind, as if it had vanished into thin air.

“It wouldn’t have hurt Big Brother, right?” Qi Qi frowned.

Qi Lin patted her head: “Little Sister, you’re overthinking. The Center’s Holy Beast won’t do such a thing.”

“Yes, since you were able to receive the qilin’s protection, it must be something good, ai.” Su Qin enviously said. A Qilin Child, an existence as rare as phoenix feathers in Primordial World.

At this time, Qi Lin walked over to Shang Yangjun’s side. The girl was very weak, her consciousness hazy. He lifted her up, and Shang Yangjun felt a familiar warmth, and her hands subconsciously wrapped tight around his neck, “Let’s get out of here first.”

“En.”

Black clouds rose up, rolling in the sky. The birds and beasts in its way dodged away in a panic.

Amidst the black clouds, Wen Zhong rode the Mo Qilin; she had recovered her poise. Feilian and Di Xin were beside her, their expressions serious.

“Elder Sister Wen Zhong, you must avenge This King.” Di Xin’s face was dark with fury. Not only did her qilin hunt fail to produce any bounty, the strongest magic treasure in Yin Shang, the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner, had been stolen by that boy. This was the greatest humiliation of her life, a complete turnaround from when she had destroyed the Great Zhou back then.

Feilian remained silent.

Wen Zhong narrowed her eyes, her hand clenched tight around her whip. “This One has miscalculated. Just who is that young man. He was unexpectedly able to obtain a contract with the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven as well as receive the Holy Beast’s protection…”

“Feilian, did you not want to make him your Invested Deity Emissary??” King Zhou sneered.

Feilian bowed her head: “Subordinate was blind, unaware he was an Invested Deity Emissary.”

“Speak about his background.” Wen Zhong inquired.

“He is a disciple of the barbarian Pixiu Tribe. Now, it seems that should not be the case. He merely wanted to use this identity to collude with Guiguzi to ruin the Great King’s plan.” Feilian said.1

“How can the barbarians produce a Qilin Child!!” Wen Zhong coldly said.

Heavenly qilin were all born in the beloved land of Shenzhou,2 They were geniuses who gathered the fortune of Heaven and Earth, who were born doted upon by the sun and moon. Barbarian lands could not produce them.

“Elder Sister Wen Zhong, you must help Ye Xian retrieve the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner, This King wants that boy to beg for death.” Di Xin pitifully pleaded.

“This One is indeed no match for the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven’s Divine Name. That Divine Name is beyond the Three Worlds, not among the Five Elements. The Five Elements arts that This One has mastered are useless against her, and we are injured right now. We have no choice but to return to Zhaoge for the time being.” Wen Zhong said. She feared that insolent monkey would move to attack Zhaoge, and by then, they would be completely wiped out.

“Can it be that This King must suffer in silence?” Di Xin was unresigned.

Wen Zhong smiled and consoled her: “Ye Xian, there is no need to worry. The Great Sage Equal Of Heaven’s Destiny is so enticing, countless Divine Names would all want to consume her. This One will go seek out Yang Jian3 at Five Dragons Mouths to take action. This One has faith that Yang Jian will be very willing to kill her. This insolent monkey is not yet in peak condition. Without her Divine Weapon, the Ruyi Jingu Bang, Yang Jian can kill her as easily as turning over her hand.”

“Oh, Yang Jian!” Di Xin’s eyes gleamed.

This was but a very famous Divine Name in the Great Primordial Western Province. Such Divine Names already felt that dealing with True Ancient and Middle Ancient Star Names like themselves would dirty their hands; they were exceedingly arrogant.

“If Yang Jian takes action, then we can certainly kill that insolent monkey.” Di Xin happily said: “Elder Sister, let us go find her right now, so as to avoid that monkey escaping.”

“Yes.”

Wen Zhong also did not want to delay. The news of the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven’s emergence would inevitably be spread quickly by the nobles, and soon, there would be many more formidable Divine Names hurrying over to kill that monkey. By then, it would be very difficult for them to get a piece of the action. Now was their best chance.

The woman’s fingertip gently tapped the Mo Qilin. It raised its black clouds and changed course for Five Dragon Mouths.

  1. Hopefully this inference can take heat off the Pixiu Tribe.
  2. 神州, lit. “divine land,” also, an ancient name for China.
  3. 楊戩

    1. They’d be cool additions, but I have my doubts. Tang Sanzang hasn’t been foreshadowed prominently, and I feel that unless the monk is going to appear, the other two won’t show up either.
