“Big Brother~”
A lazy voice interrupted Qi Lin’s self-consolation. Qi Qi finally roused from her slumber. The girl stretched her back; Qi Lin’s qi of core formation had circulated over her body quite pleasantly.
“Little Sister, you’re finally awake. I was going to bring you to a doctor if you kept on sleeping.” Qi Lin smiled.
Qi Qi was a bit listless. Usually, she was energetic and very fierce, but looking at her right now, she seemed like a frozen eggplant, very out of sorts.1
“Are we still at sea?” Qi Qi asked.
“We’re already in the Shaman Spirit Kingdom. What a coincidence that I’ve also reached Golden Core Realm. Let’s go out and walk around in a moment.” Qi Lin smiled.
Upon hearing she finally did not need to float inside a giant wooden box anymore, Qi Qi finally regained a bit of vigor. She spread her arms, hinting to her big brother to hug her. Her appearance made Qi Lin recall the first time he saw her. At that time, she had not revealed her identity as Great Sage Equal of Heaven Sun Wukong. Her fawn-like innocence then was so honest.
Qi Lin’s heart warmed, and he picked her up.
Since he had already formed a core, he did not need to linger in this Heavenly Paradise. Three thousand Wu jade for a night was too exorbitant a price. Right now, Yang Jian was still in the Shaman Spirit Kingdom, and Qi Lin did not want to get involved with her. It was for the best that they departed. After leaving a message, Qi Lin then walked out of the Heavenly Paradise. Upon exiting, he saw that cultivators had crowded together outside of the room. They were speaking amongst themselves in hushed but spirited whispers.
When they saw Qi Lin walk out, everyone stared at him, their expressions a bit incredulous.
“May we ask for your name, Brother. Did you just enter Core Formation Realm?”
“Congratulations. Brother, are you truly so extraordinarily gifted?”
Qi Lin had also sensed something different during his core formation, but he did not think to pay too much attention to that. He half-heartedly nodded and walked down the stairs with Qi Qi.
“Congratulations, Fellow, on entering Golden Core Realm. This shop has specially prepared a ‘Return To Form’2 as a gift.” The owner of the True Intent Hall had completely changed from his contempt for Qi Lin when they first met. He was wearing a grin to curry favor, and while the bottle of Return To Form in his hand was not expensive, it could solidify the foundation of a cultivator who had only just stepped into Golden Core Realm, which was to say it was pretty good.
Qi Lin had no choice but to admit that while this True Intent Hall was expensive, its service was indeed very thorough.
Qi Lin accepted this medicine and turned the jade key over to the shopkeeper with instructions to leave it for Wang Jian.
After he left, those cultivators all crowded around to ask about Qi Lin’s background.
Because he had an absolutely beautiful wife, everyone thought he was some highness from one of the nations outside of the Shaman Spirit Kingdom. Every year, there were many geniuses who would attend the Immortality Banquet, and it was not strange for these nobles and royals to produce phenomenal giants among men. Everyone was sure this was the explanation. Only the shopkeeper muttered to himself: “Ten days, huh…He stepped into Golden Core Realm in just ten days. Those dragon and phoenixes among their highnesses may as well be sparrows compared to him.”
…
“So it turned out this Green Satchel Book was this incredible.” Qi Lin used his Divine Intent to scan this book, finally discovering that this magic treasures was simply miraculous.
The Green Satchel Book documented a plethora of precious medicines, and it was able to nurture spirit medicines and refine pills. Because the Green Satchel Book had a qi that was humane and extremely beneficent, the green light it unleashed could even mend wounds. However, what excited Qi Lin the most was the ability of the Green Satchel Book to produce and refine pills and medicines. Because this green light’s nurturing method and Primordial World’s pill concoction were completely different, pill and medicine refinement was extremely pure, much moreso than in general.
The Fog Spirit Sea had hundreds of thousands of islands, millions of spirit medicines, just perfect for the Green Satchel Book to refine. Perhaps he could even break through to Primordial Infant Seven Stars Realm. If he did enter Primordial Infant Realm, Qi Qi’s Realm would also increase. By that time, going to the Eastern Sea would be as easy as turning over his hand.
“These recipes are quite valuable.” The Green Satchel Book not only recorded Hua Tuo’s lifetime of recipes, there were even some breathing cultivation techniques.
However, Qi Lin himself did not know a single thing about medicine refinement. For the time being, he could not make random moves; he would have to find an opportunity to go and comprehend it. Qi Lin brainstormed a plan.
Qi Qi wrapped herself around his neck and blinked her big eyes. She could sense the excitement in her big brother’s heart.
“But Master must still find a place to cultivate at.” The white ape jumped out.
“We’ll need to stay inside the city for the time being.” Qi Lin recalled the Fallen Soul House that the shopkeeper mentioned previously seemed a bit suspicious. “Let’s go take a look.”
“I’ll listen to Big Brother.” Qi Qi yawned, for she was drowsy again.
…
Wang Jian returned to the Immortality Boat and sat on the side of the boat in frustration. She gazed at the distant sunset, the desolate golden light sprinkling over her body illustrating a portrait of “loneliness.”
“Jue’er, why are you so preoccupied?”
Xu Fu was in the middle of discussions with other people when she saw Wang Jian behaving oddly and thus walked over to tease her a bit. In her recollection, the Vermilion Bird Divine General was but a fiery and unyielding character, someone indomitable who would never have such a girlish expression. “Didn’t you go look for the Qi siblings? Could something have happened?” Xu Fu looked aroound.
“Nothing.”
Wang Jian’s heart was a bit empty. Although she knew the reason why Qi Lin left, she was not sure why she nevertheless felt angry that this man had left of his own accord.
“Right, you’d better not associate too closely with them.” Xu Fu hesitated a moment but still advised her as such.
Wang Jian frowned: “Xu Fu, you don’t strike me as someone nosy.”
Xu Fu said: “Of course I’m not too nosy, but I just heard from Wu Peng that Erlang Shen Yang Jian has also arrived at Shaman Spirit Kingdom. She will attend this Immortality Banquet.”
Wang Jian was not surprised that Yang Jian would appear here.
“Her Highness Xue Sha cannot help him any further. If Yang Jian were to find out the Qi siblings’ identities, things will be troublesome. We are here to seek the Immortality Secret Medicine for Her Majesty. We cannot offend Erlang Shen, at all costs.” Xu Fu was well-meaning. She feared that Wang Jian would ruin Her Majesty’s matters for this man.
“I know, Qi Lin is already gone.” Wang Jian flatly said. She left the railing and straightened her back. At this moment, her heroic air was peerless.
Xu Fu sighed, “Good, but I hope Qi Lin and his sister can manage on their own.”
“En.”
“Xu Fu…” Wang Jian’s gaze stared at the boundless horizon. Someplace faraway, there was a vast sky, a wide ocean, a place where birds flapped their wings freely through the sky and fishes swam as they pleased through water, a place with an elusive kind of freedom.
“What?” Xu Fu turned around. She was a bit astonished to hear Wang Jian’s tone so gentle.
“You’ve been at sea for so many years, haven’t you ever wanted to go to the other Great Continents, to see the lands beyond the Western Sea?”
Xu Fu was taken aback: “Oh, I have, but it’s impossible. The Western Sea is endless, too distant. Our cultivations are insufficient, too.”
Pausing, Xu Fu promptly dissuaded Wang Jian: “Jue’er you wouldn’t be thinking about leaving Her Majesty’s service, would you? Ancient Qin cannot be missing any one of its Four Great Generals…You can’t be having such thoughts. With the Register Of Deities open, the outside is honestly too dangerous for us Divine Names who have to to enter Divine Realm.”
Wang Jue nodded. She knew.
But she also wanted to know.
If she was free together with that man, what would that feel like.3

WANG JUE! DO IT! BE QI LIN’S RIDE OR DIE CHICK!!!!!
And yes, I like stoic romantics like her.
Qi Lin dipping put without a word ‘seems’ like a dick move but, unlike Su Xing or Chen Mo, he’s pretty much totally alone AND homeless. Well, he’s got Qi Qi but….. she’s ALWAYS SLEEPING!
Oh, if I remember right… Hua Tuo was a famous physician who invented some early form of anesthetic called ‘mafeisen’, yeah?
I read his research notes were lost but accounts vary on how and why though… Oh, and something about being imprisoned by Cao Cao for something?
Anyway, I only remembered this bc of another CN WN that had a genderbent Hua Tuo… who also happened to be Zhang Jue too….
