“Sister Wu Gu, if I may ask you a question?” Qi Lin abruptly inquired.

“Speak.”

“Does Sister Wu Gu have a mask that can conceal a person’s appearance.”

Wu Gu immediately understood his plan, “You are afraid someone will recognize you?”

“I refined the Five Flavors Soul Returning Powder, after all. My cultivation, as Sister Wu Gu has seen, is merely Golden Core Early Stage, First Gua Realm.” Qi Lin matter-of-factly replied.

Wu Gu was indifferent. It was not strange at all for medicine refinement masters to hide their true appearance for various reasons. Everyone in Primordial World knew this. “This is very simple.”

“Many thanks.”

After two days of preparation, Qi Lin gave QI Qi a few instructions before going to the ruin outside the Fog Spirit Sea together with Wu Gu.

Days later, far outside the Fog Spirit Sea.

A small white-hulled boat pierced through empty space. Then, a black shadowy textile shuttle followed behind it. A woman was on the little boat, a dot of cinnabar decorating her brow as she dully scanned the surroundings while dressed in silverthread blacksnow robes. The man on the shuttle had a young and delicate appearance, but his eyes contained the profundity of great experience.

The pair stood on their magic treasures and looked at a distant clump of fog.

The fog was thick, practically impenetrable.

The young man looked at the woman: “Sister Wu Gu, is this the place?”

“Yes.” The woman nodded.

The pair were none other than Qi Lin and Wu Gu.

In order to prepare for the concoction of the Earth Origin pill, Wu Gu had led Qi Lin to this remote place outside the Fog Spirit Sea. This area was already outside the range of the Shaman Spirit Kingdom, so there were few signs of civilization while danger abounded. However, thanks to Wu Gu’s guidance, they could be relatively at ease.

The two of them ingested Five Flavors Soul Returning Powder. According to Wu Gu, there were still remnants of power from the Primal Chaos period inside the ruins. This power flowed endlessly in the ruin, and it could affect a person’s mind. They needed to ingest a soul supplement pill every few hours, otherwise they would go insane and die.

The two of them continued on into the fog.

The endless white fog was frighteningly and deathly silent, as if frozen eternally in the past. Each breath was heavy and filled with pain.

Just entering the fog, Qi Lin immediately sensed that this place was very abnormal, not a place the average Golden Core cultivator could stay in.

“What kind of ruins are this place?” Qi Lin asked.

“This place is known as ‘Changliu.’1 It was once a place to offer sacrifices to White Emperor Shaohao.” Wu Gu replied.

“White Emperor Shaohao?” Qi Lin was shocked.

The Primal Chaos Imperial Court’s Donghuang Taiyi controlled the Primordial, and her five sisters assumed responsibility over the Five Continents. These five were the Immemorial Royal Family’s strongest Divine Names, and each assumed command of one of the five. They were known to the people as the Five Heavenly Emperors. White Emperor Shaohao was the ruler of the Western Primordial, its highest authority. Even Western Sea God Yan Zi heeded her orders.

Back then, White Emperor Shaohao grew the Fog Spirit Sea with a wave of her hand and established here a place to offer hundreds of herbs.

Later, along with the end of the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court period, these ruins slowly became history. The White Emperor’s power endured through time and still protected this place. Because this Changliu still retained an ancient breath, one could vaguely sense the White Emperor’s divine might.

“Is it fine to take the White Emperor’s things?” Qi Lin frowned.

“Changliu has many levels. We are only on the periphery. Many ‘Luan Pill Cauldrons’ are left over from the sacrifices back then. These cauldrons are exceptional treasures for medicine refinement. Back when the Ten Shamans came to Changliu, Wu Xian had obtained one, which is why she can have her current position as the head of the Ten Wu.” Wu Gu mentioned this past event with some derision. Qi Lin nodded, saying nothing, knowing Wu Gu would continue.

Wu Gu said: “Where we are going, you may be able to obtain a cauldron, given your medicine concoction capabilities.”

“En.”

It was unclear how long they had been penetrating deeper into the thick white fog. Qi Lin even doubted whether or not they had been already frozen by time when at last the endless mist parted, and a gorgeous, spectacular mountain appeared in front of him.

A ridge extended from north to south, appearing like dragon spines, imposing enough to shake the heavens. Sheer cliffs towered ten thousand ren, high above other peaks. The summit had a series of drops that went down to the bottom of the mountain, forming a waterfall that stretched a thousand zhang. The mountain was filled with ancient forests, a lush and evergreen wood.

This place’s fengshui was exceptional, a feeling of “true dragon hibernation,” surprisingly.

“What?” Wu Gu saw that Qi Lin’s expression had somewhat changed.

“Oh, nothing. I never expected Changliu to actually have such splendor.” Qi Lin composed himself and faintly smiled.

Wu Gu also slightly grinned. She was also awestruck for a long while when she first saw this.

“Let us ingest another soul supplement pill and enter. However, the deepest level is the place for sacrifices. In the past, it was the place where White Emperor Shaohao rested. We cannot disturb it.” Shaohao had a very intimidating quality about her in the Wu Spirit Kingdom, and Wu Gu was relatively fearful of the White Emperor’s power.

Qi Lin did not want side issues to arise either.

However, upon seeing this magnificent mother, he feared obtaining this cauldron would be very difficult.

Just as expected, while the two were still on the magic treasure, just as they approached Changliu, they heard a screeching blood-shadow attack from the sky.

Seeing clearly, they were blood-red shadows with fangs and claws bared.

That blood-red shadow was very sinister, possessing long, demonic claws and a body that seemed crooked. Blood-red sinew and muscle were exposed as if the creature lacked skin, and it had a pair of grotesque fleshy wings. It was a bit like a monstrous, skinless bat.

“This is a ‘Vampire Bat,’ a Golden Core Early Stage Strange Beast, be careful.” Wu Gu’s tone was filled with concentrated loathing. To be able to make her feel so hateful, it could be assumed that other than its disgusting appearance, this creature’s strength was also a problem.

“Won’t you prepare to intercept?” Qi Lin noticed she apparently did not have any intentions of acting against them.

Wu Gu shook her head, “Vampire Bats are Strange Beasts that live together in colonies. In the past, Shaohao had left the power of the Hundred Herbs to raise them. They are very bothersome, and there is no way we can kill them all.” As expected, those blood-shadows grew and grew in number. In the end, they surprisingly became a rolling mass, as if they were snowballing, an avalanche. Very quickly, the sky was covered in blood-light.

“Do not fly in the sky.” Wu Gu moved her Divine Intent and pointed her finger.

A crimson light enveloped the pair. Qi Lin’s magic treasure Escaping Heavenly Shuttle was sucked into her white boat, and Qi Lin smelled the serene fragrance of the woman’s body. His eyes were blinded as they rapidly charged into the blood-light.

From up close, these Vampire Bats were even more disgusting. Wu Gu was quite familiar with them, and after she manifested a spirit-light, these bloody bats veered away one after another, screeching.

More and more of the bloody bats approached at this time, forming an intense storm that swallowed the two of them.

Wu Gu’s crimson light could not hold out.

“The sun and moon rise and fall, shuttling through space.”

Wu Gu shouted.

Space suddenly split open, tearing a hole in its fabric. The white boat darted into this crack and instantly vanished from this place.2

At the same time, outside Changliu, several monster bird boats showed blood-light changes at a different location.

“Fuyunzi,3 what has happened?” A sinister cultivator asked from atop the boat.

“Seems someone has intruded into Changliu.” Fuyunzi’s eyes turned cold.

“Our Lord God is currently recuperating in Changliu, could it be Yang Jian or the Ten Shamans have seized the chance to enter?” The sinister cultivator’s tone dropped.

“What do we do?”

“We will go take a look first. Now that the Register Of Deities is active, we must be wary of other Divine Names that intend to harm our Lord God. Fuyunzi, the two of us will look. The others will continue to monitor this place.”

“Good.”
