Chi Xuzi’s Divine Intent moved. The Yin Yang decoration on her forehead released a chilling light.

Black stars fell like rain, hurtling towards Chen Mo.

The black pieces filling the sky were endless, reaching as far as the eye could see, practically covering the cosmos.

Chen Mo brandished Northern Dipper and used the Qiankun One Qi. The white qi coiled around Northern Dipper, and then it released a white glow. This bundled Star Energy’s white killing intent fell around Chen Mo’s surroundings like white chess pieces, closely protecting it.

The black shooting stars one after another exploded with terrible power that could disintegrate a person’s meridians in an instant.

Chen Mo moved forward step by step, using the intertwined Northern Dipper and Qiankun One Qi to hold off the opponent’s attacks.

“If this is all, then you will certainly die very wretchedly.” Chi Xuzi wore a slightly regretful expression. Her Weiqi Ten Commandment’s Third Commandment, “Take Care Of Oneself When Attacking The Other,” appeared to be an absolutely powerful attack, an attempt to completely smash the enemy, but in truth, these black meteors were all part of a profound theory. Each black star was like a chess piece with a regular position.

If they merely defended blindly, then the best chess sages could only be defeated. The sole solution was to find the gap she arranged. But to find a fleeting opening in the middle of such harrowing danger, even a chess sage would be very challenged to do so. Chi Xuzi did not plan at all on giving Chen Mo a chance. Since this man chose to forcefully obtain the Ancient Chess Star Field’s ancient Star Energy, then he must pay the price for his own choice.

“Pity, what a pity. After several millennia, there is finally a cultivator able to intrude into the Ancient Chess Starry Void. You must pay a heavy price for your stupidity and shortsightedness.” Chi Xuzi said: “You only needed to stay in this place a thousand years, then you could have obtained everything you ever wanted.”

“I don’t need charity, I’ll use my own abilities to obtain it.” Chen Mo yelled. He vigorously advanced, the Northern Dipper like the Five Sacred Mountains. Countless white lights endlessly followed him.

Chen Mo endlessly warped, encircled, expanded, and attacked in the cosmos.

The black shooting stars covered the boundless cosmos, practically denying any way out. Chen Mo’s white qi could barely expand.

“Gateless Heaven And Earth!!”

Chen Tuan pointed her finger. Her Star Weapon “All Things Omnipresent Stars” chess pieces formed the shape of a gate in the void world, stopping all of Chi Songzi’s Star Energy outside the gate.

Chi Songzi’s vast Star Energy slammed against the Gateless Heaven And Earth. Even Chen Tuan felt taxed.

The girl was unfazed. Her snow-white pupils were particularly bright. The gate shut, dispelling Chi Songzi’s power.

“Ancestor Chen Tuan, you should know when to stop.” Chi Songzi’s gaze was ferocious. “That man is already destined to become a piece of this Star Field’s Star Energy. To make enemies of us right now is not a wise choice at all.”

“Chen Mo is My disciple. I have a duty to bring him back.” The girl’s voice was extremely flat. There was not a shred of fear in her heart as she faced this unknown, ancient Star Name.

“Other than through obtaining the acknowledgement of the ‘Ancient Chess Ten Commandments,’ he need not think of leaving.” Chi Songzi said.

“The Ancient Chess Ten Commandments is the ultimate path of the ‘Chess School.’ Even if Chen Mo possesses talent surpassing the average chess sage and is able to understand the meaning of these Ten Commandments, do you two Fellows not feel a bit that you are forcing him to pass?” The “Chess School” was one of the Hundred Schools, but they were a path dedicated to exploring chess skills. Among the Hundred Schools, theyw ere considered a weak existence.

However, this Ancient Chess Star Field’s Star Energy was nevertheless incomparably powerful, owing to the generations of Chess School Star Generals. To pass this Ten Commandments, even if he could understand them completely, the trial was not only limited to weiqi. Chen Mo’s cultivation and Realm were honestly too low. Even Chen Tuan herself did not have certainty.

The trial that Chi Songzi referred to was undoubtedly a kind of slow death.

“This is something he brought upon himself. It is beyond the control of an outsider.” Chi Songzi glanced at Chen Mo. At this moment, Chen Mo was already trapped by Chi Xuzi’s chess prowess. The black stars already filled the space. The white qi that Chen Mo attacked with was disjointed, unable to survive.

Although he was still doing his utmost to resist the black pieces’ engulfment, the result of being devoured was only a matter of time.

“Take care of yourself when attacking the other. Then allow me to help him.” Ancestor Chen Tuan’s eyes were determined.

All of a sudden, the gate glittered with countless white lights. The lights became dragons that rushed towards Chi Xuzi’s black pieces. Chi Songzi spared no effort to stop them. The All Things Omnipresent Stars changed, manifesting a nine-layered space.

When Chen Mo saw this scene, he knew intuitively to swing Northern Dipper’s might towards the incoming white lights. Ancestor Chen Tuan’s lights were just like white pieces embedded into the game, and Chen Mo deftly forced his way through. Both sides launched a close quarters assault. A swathe of black stars were already densely packed, their increasing numbers harrowing. In contrast, Chen Mo’s white pieces were hardly visible. However, Ancestor Chen Tuan’s attack broke apart the layers of black stars. The outer boundary was not thick at all, so it was very difficult to attack Chen Mo.

Both sides seemed to play chess. Chen Mo decisively pulled out on the six millionth move. At this time, all the white qi linked together into one, rolling like a giant dragon in the sea of black. It struggled, attempting to charge through the black sea’s cage.

Chi Xuzi used the black stars perfectly. The black sea endlessly surged, becoming chains that trapped Chen Mo’s white dragon.

In battle against black, Chi Xuzi’s black pieces naturally could not allow Chen Mo to escape. If she let Chen Mo easily break through here, then the black pieces would completely collapse. It would be tantamount to yielding this game to him.

“Yellow Rank, Ice Breaker Snow Slicer!”

Chen Mo turned Northern Dipper into a saber and was truly like a dragon baring its fangs.

Snow-white saber-light appeared extremely blinding in the world of endless darkness as it slice open space.

“Petty tricks!”

Chi Xuzi resolutely cut it short, but the black pieces’ outer boundary was too thin. She had no forceful methods at all, therefore, during the seven millionth move,1 she took a leap and attacked the white dragon.

But during this attack, Chi Xuzi abruptly discovered the black sea that she created was suddenly beginning to ebb. Unable to keep the dragon contained any longer, Chen Mo soared into the sky, rocketing up as an already unstoppable force.

“Not good, this is Pieces Extended By A Foot Will Live On Without Eyes!!”2

Chi Xuzi was astounded.

Since ancient times, the way of chess always had a saying, “pieces extended by a foot will live on without eyes.” Even if a piece did not have an eye space, if the pieces linked together, they still were a living group. Because the lone pieces were linked, the larger the space, any random “knight’s move” or “jump” was a living group. As a result, one did not need to worry about being attacked even without an eye space.3

Since this not a question of life or death, he could be relaxed about the opponent’s attacks. After becoming strong, the opponent would appear weak, and likewise, your attack power would increase.

Just like this, “Take Care Of Oneself When Attacking The Other” collapsed.

Chi Xuzi did not foresee that this man would surprisingly have such a trick to deal with the Third Commandment. It was known that in chess, a “dragon” represented risk. If it was attacked by the opponent, it was thoroughly incapable of surviving the first blow.

If it was just himself alone, Chen Mo would have been unable to pull this off, no matter what. But if he had the assistance of someone else, then he was absolutely safe.

Chi Xuzi looked at the refined girl. Her eyes emitted an intensely ruminating glint.

“Chen Tuan!!!”

  1. Well, it’s not like those ridiculous numbers aren’t everywhere in Chinese novels; as a bit of trivia, if you were doing speed-chess and it took you half a second to do a move, and you did not stop to eat or drink or rest or sleep, you would make the six millionth move near the end of the fifth week of nonstop play, and the seven millionth about five or so days later… 🙂
