“Did you say Primal Chaos Heavenly Court?”
Along the way to Mount Tu, hearing Qi Lin’s question, Nezha cocked her head and pondered.
“Yes.”
After his discussion yesterday with Yu The Great, Qi Lin was currently in a rush to learn about that part of the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court’s history. Among everyone present, only Nezha had the most first-hand knowledge. She came from the Central Divine Kingdom, and she had studied at Jixia Academy; she would know far more than the Divine Names who were in the wildlands.
“Master indeed mentioned a few things, but didn’t I tell you everything already?” Nezha blinked.
“Isn’t there anything even more detailed? For example, what happened between the Donghuang Taiyi and Sun Wukong when she caused trouble in the Heavenly Court back then, what the Three Sages did to the Heavenly Court when they suppressed it, and why the Ruyi Jingu Bang ended up being gifted by Laozi to the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace.” Qi Lin inquired.
The other girls could not help but turn their gazes.
Nezha snorted, “This Great Deity just knew you wanted to ask about Sun Wukong. How could This Great Deity be aware of the precise details, and Master spoke curtly about it, too.”
Seeing that Qi Lin was a bit disappointed, Nezha then said: “If you’re really so interested in learning about the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court’s matters back then, go to Jixia Academy. The academy’s ‘Ten Thousand Scholars Hall’ retains many scrolls from the Primal Chaos period. Hm, there must be some records.”
“En.” Hearing that he could discover the truth, Qi Lin’s interest was piqued.
After a while, everyone was already at the foot of Mount Tu.
The Northern Primordial’s various lords were already assembled. However, news of Yu The Great’s use of the Divine King’s Blessing had already spread throughout the Northern Primordial. Regardless of whether it was a chief or someone else, they all cast strange gazes at Yu The Great, only short of pointing and gesticulating.
Mount Tu.
The lords took their seats. Only Li Yu and Qing Jie, who volunteered to go slay the Lingling, were absent.
Xuanyuanshi’s dragon carriage and canopy’s aura remained indomitable as ever.
Although the meeting of Mount Tu’s lords did not have a master of Zhuolu, she was even more like the late Emperor Yao, having become the center, but this time, even more people had their attention on someone other than Xuanyuanshi.
“Qi Lin, Yu The Great. We all have followed your instruction to slay the High Ancient Demonkin, and We have already killed the Changyou.” Xuanyuanshi spoke forthrightly, making Feng Hou place the corpse of the Changyou atop the mountain.
The Changyou was a Demon Ape that had attained the Dao. Its corpse was split in two, but even in death, its sinister face and Demonic Qi still made everyone feel fear.
The High Ancient Demonkin was the force that the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court was most terrified of. Even now, the mere mention of their name still made everyone go pale.
Qi Lin saw that the Changyou was at least High Ancient Divine Realm cultivation or higher, which perhaps would not lose out to the Fuzhu, but Xuanyuanshi had slain it with apparent ease without expending significant effort.
Gongyang Tu also bade someone present the Huashe.
This man was absolutely calm, his eyes quite sharp as he gazed at Qi Lin with an expression that was already not too friendly.
Then, the others also brought out their spoils.
The Heyu, Shengyu, Leiyu, Manman…
All of them were just bodies and Demon Cores.
Finally, everyone’s gazes all stopped on Qi Lin.
Xuanyuanshi seemed to smile at this man: “The time has come, yet the floods show no signs of abating. Six of the Eight Demons have already been eliminated. We wonder if Your Distinguished Self was successful?”
“Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin spoke so righteously to make use unite and eliminate the Demons. Do not say that you yourself failed in the end and returned as a laughingstock all covered in dirt…” Gongyang Tu could not help but mock him. Originally, that Gongyang Tu was a man among the Northern Primordial’s chieftains allowed him to stand out and become the center of attention, but this Qi Lin came in and took that position, making Gongyang Tu very unhappy.
Qi Lin faintly grinned. His Divine Intent moved, and void space flashed above him. A pair of multi-colored antlers appeared.
Everyone was shocked, and Gongyang Tu’s smile vanished.
“These are…” Xuanyuanshi’s eyes slightly narrowed.
Everyone stopped breathing.
“The Fuzhu’s antlers!!”
All of the Divine Names present knew what these antlers were.
“I have already slain the Fuzhu.”
Qi Lin calmly answered.
Everyone gasped. None of them had imagined that the Fuzhu would actually die at the hands of a cultivator. The expressions they gazed at Qi Lin with became incomparably complex.
“Hmph, seems Yu The Great’s Divine King’s Blessing was not in vain.” Gongyang Tu pushed the words out from between clenched teeth.
“That Elder Brother could kill the Fuzhu proves he is worthy of Yu’s blessing.” Yu The Great was modest, as if this was only natural.
“Then it seems that the Ji Tribe shall enthrone Qi Lin as king from now on?” Gongyang Tu smiled/
“Only if Elder Brother is willing.”
Yu The Great was unflappable.
Hearing that she could hand over her position so easily, no one dared to continue their gossip.
“Can it be that King Yu and Qi Lin signed a contract? To surprisingly have such faith in him.” Gongyang Tu did not understand.
“Not at all.” Yu The Great answered.
“Enough. Gongyang Tu, you need not envy him. Even the lords present would admit to being unable to kill the Fuzhu, so We are very impressed with you.” Xuangyuanshi faintly grinned, supporting her cheek with one hand as she stared at Qi Lin with an expression brimming with interest.
“Have Chieftains Li Yu and Qing Jie of the Sheng River Tribe and Jiao River Tribe not returned yet?” Qi Lin did not wish to be entangled along this line of questioning any further. To them, slaying the Fuzhu was a matter of supreme glory, but in the end, that the Fuzhu knelt had left him feeling no glory at all.
“Send someone to check just what has happened.”
Xuanyuanshi ordered Feng Hou.
The fact very quickly became clear, as Qi Lin had feared – Li Yu and Qing Jie had not returned to Mount Tu. With their strength, it was impossible that they were unable to handle the Lingling. Given the locations of their tribes, it was extremely likely these two had betrayed them.
“Whether Li Yu and Qing Jie are dead or alive, or if they have betrayed us, it seems our efforts to control the floods have failed.” Xuanyuan mercilessly assessed: “Of course, to pursue this further is already meaningless.”
Flood control had failed.
These four words weighed heavily on Qi Lin’s chest.
Yu The Great sighed deeply. She had exhausted every means possible to control the floods, and just as they were about to succeed, they failed at the final stretch. The woman’s anguished expression made Qi Lin’s heart sting with a bit of pain. When they had joined forces to slay the Eight Demons, Qi Lin was already very worried this very situation would occur, but this mandate of heaven showed no concern for them in the end.
The atmosphere of the meeting reached its extreme. Flood control had failed, and all their efforts were for naught. Everyone felt that it had all been meaningless.
Gongyang Tu snorted and pursed his lips, “Your Servant just knew this was a complete waste of my lord’s time.” He stood up, and Chiyou also rose in preparation to leave.
“Everyone, do not be in a rush to leave.”
Xuanyuanshi’s faint grin still showed her easygoing attitude.
Everyone who had been preparing to leave turned around.
“Xuanyuanshi, have you something else to say?”
“According to what His Distinguished Self Qi Lin said, once the floods were completed, the disaster of the Northern Primordial was unavoidable. Will we now hurry back to devise countermeasures for our kin, or will we stay here and indulge ourselves in pleasure?”
“Xuanyuanshi, although I respect you, what she said is reasonable.”
The others were in a poor mood.
Xuanyuanshi lowered her gaze, the smile on the corner of her lips intoxicating like concentrated wine.
Qi Lin vaguely felt she wanted to say something.
“Which is why Her Majesty wants everyone to stay and discuss countermeasures for the flood.” Li Mu spoke, her voice very heavy as a discus, each word overbearing.
Yu The Great gasped and quietly watched.
“What countermeasure does Elder Sister Xuanyuan have?”
“The Eternal River has already become a disaster, and the Northern Primordial is already flooded. Although we have failed to slay all the Demonkin, we are the kings of our tribes. Should we not devise a way to rescue the people of the Northern Primordial from this calamity?” Xuanyuanshi smiled.
“Is there another way to control the floods? Unless a sage appears, these floods cannot be quelled.” One of the chiefs was very worried. Now that the Northern Primordial’s floods were already too immense, with half of the Eight Desolate Mountains submerged, even the most abnormal Divine Energy could not withstand this. Only sages, the most pinnacle existences in Primordial World, could quell the floods, but a sage fundamentally would never lift a finger for the Northern Primordial.
“Sage?” Xuanyuanshi scoffed. She did not have such a ridiculous idea at all.
“We can count only on ourselves.”
“Xuanyuanshi, whatever you want to say, just say it.” Qi Lin suddenly said.
Xuanyuanshi beamed.
“Then We shall speak forthrightly. We cannot depend on a sage, but we can rely on ourselves.”
“Elder Sister’s meaning is?” Yu The Great also sensed what her intent was.
“Her Majesty’s intentions are very clear – it is time to decide the ruler of Zhuolu!” Li Mu finally spoke the crux of why Xuanyuanshi attended this Mount Tu conference.
Ruler of Zhuolu!
Whoever controlled Zhuolu controlled the Northern Primordial.
“Xuanyuanshi, we are all on the precipice of disaster, yet you actually still want to fight for control over Zhuolu even now?” One of the chiefs was somewhat angry.
“Currently, only Zhuolu is the safest place in the Northern Primordial. Everyone who wants to protect their tribe will inevitably seek refuge at Zhuolu, but a group without a leader will fall into disorganization. We will become queen of the Northern Primordial, and Zhuolu will henceforth be mind. If you swear fealty to Us, We guarantee the safe entry of your tribe into Zhuolu. Otherwise…”
“Otherwise you will annihilate us?” Chiyou sneered.
Xuanyuanshi smiled, this one incomparably arrogant and cruel.
“The Northern Primordial has been fractured for many years, and the Register Of Deities is already active again. We will not ignore the division any longer. If you do not accept, then face Us as you wish.” Xuanyuanshi rose and waved her hand: “We are weary…Consider Our words carefully.”
“In seven days, Her Majesty will invest as the Yellow Emperor at Yellow Mountain and unify the Northern Primordial. Those willing to submit are welcome to attend.” Feng Hou bowed.
The dragon carriage descended the mountain, leaving everyone staring at each other.
“Xuanyuanshi. You wish to become emperor, but you did not ask for This Lord’s opinion.” Chiyou disdainfully said as she cast a cold glare towards Gongyang Tu.
Gongyang Tu understood intuitively and promptly made an announcement to everyone.
“My lord, Chiyou, shall also invest as an emperor in the coming days, unifying the Northern Primordial for battle against Xuanyuanshi to the end. Everyone, please think carefully about whether to be wise in self-preservation, or if you will become enemies of my lord.”
Gongyang Tu coldly glanced at Qi Lin. Then, he followed Chiyou down Mount Tu.
IN an instant, the two great queens of the Northern Primordial, Xuanyuanshi and Chiyou, had already declared their intentions for battle. A war in Zhuolu was already unavoidable.
“Ai. Primordial chaos has not subsided, yet the Northern Primordial has already begun a civil war.” YU The Great lamented.
“There’s no helping it. Xuanyuanshi’s words are somewhat logical. Since flood control failed, then there must be a battle over Zhuolu.” Qi Lin said.
“Then can it be we must also fight?” Yu The Great was unwilling.
Qi Lin shook his head. He had neither these thoughts nor interest. There was no need for them to get involved in the war between the Yellow Emperor and Chiyou.
“Elder Brother, what should we do next?” Yu The Great asked.
“The Northern Primordial’s queen does not necessarily need to be decided through a life or death battle.” Qi Lin smiled.
Yu The Great was confused.
“Let them fight each other. Let’s continue controlling the floods for the benefit of the Northern Primordial’s people.”
“Can we still control the floods?” Yu The Great was already discouraged.
“Let’s talk once we descend the mountain.”
Qi Lin took Yu The Great’s hand and left Mount Tu, leaving countless even more astonished gazes.

Lol! Qi L8n was like, “Miss me with that shit. I’m out!”
But yeah…. Missed a demon… great. Wonder what they’ll do now?”
