Near Zhuolu, Mount Shishui.

The downpour assaulted the earth like bullets. Yu The Great watched over the Ji Tribe’s people, her gentle eyes filled with endless sorrow. She stood alone atop the mountain, the bullet-like raindrops around her forming ripple after ripple.

Changxi, Nezha, and Hou Ji had already returned. They brought good news that they had slain the Manman, but this piece of information was unable to smooth the Flood Control Human Sovereign’s brow.

“Huh? King Yu used the Divine King’s Blessing?”

Hearing this news, Hou Ji was flabbergasted while Bo Yi expressionlessly nodded.

Nezha did not understand what was so shocking.

Hou Ji explained that the Divine King’s Blessing was a kind of ceremony during Emperor Yao’s time available only to tribal leaders, whereby they transmitted their Divine Energy to the target to demonstrate their loyalty. In the Northern Primordial, that was very serious, for it was a hallowed ritual.

Nezha understood. Then, this meant that Great Yu seemed to have bowed her head in submission to a man? This is nothing. The little girl twitched her mouth. Didn’t they already become siblings? Hou Ji and Bo Yi remained silent.

Just at this moment, a bright light came from the sky faraway.

A wooden boat emerged from the storm.

Yu The Great’s gaze lit up. Her eyes that were as calm as a placid lake now rippled with light.

“This is the Wind And Rain Boat. It seems Young Lord Qi Lin has slain the Divine Beast Fuzhu.” Bo Yi breathed a sigh of relief.

Yu The Great did not dare relax. Only when the Wind And Rain Boat landed in front of her and a man leapt down from the vessel did the woman finally release her invisible tension.

“Changxi, Sister Yu, Hou Ji.” Qi Lin also breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the three woman. As the operation to destroy the flood formation had failed, he honestly worried that they had suffered an accident.

“And This Great Deity?” Little Nezha puffed her cheeks, feeling she had been ignored.

Qi Lin smiled: “It would have been strange if something happened to you…But many thanks for helping, Nezha…Come here…” Saying this, he gave Nezha a surprise hug.

“Huh?” Nezha was like a startled rabbit and leapt out from Qi Lin’s embrace as she hatefully glared at this man. “This Great Deity may look young, but you cannot hug me as you please.”

“How truly noisy.”

A languid voice interrupted the group’s conversation. Lü Dongbin disembarked from the Wind And Rain Boat and stretched herself, as if she had woken from a nap. There was no sign at all that she was still suffering internal injury.

Lü Dongbin swept a mocking gaze over all of them and teased: “Does a man like you have no shortage of luck? Seeing as how a single God Transformation cultivator could have so many Divine Names at his side.”

“Elder Brother, this is?”

Yu The Great skeptically asked.

“She is Lü Dongbin, I stumbled upon her and Bai Ze at the Fuzhu’s divine pond.” Qi Lin summarized the events.

Upon hearing Lü Dongbin’s Divine Name, everyone’s expressions changed.

The disciple of Grand Supreme Laozi of the Thirty-third Deva, the Deva of Partings And Regret. It was unknown how many people in Primordial World envied her.  Her Pure Yang Divine Sword, forged from the sun and imbued with the qi of Great Purity, possessed variations that outnumbered the Heavenly Spirits and Earthly Fiends.

“This King never imagined this would have caused Lady Bai Wanfang to suffer such danger. This King has made a mistake.”

Seeing Yu The Great accept blame, Hou Ji and Bo Yi both hastily reassured her.

Bai Ze was already mostly recovered. She wearily shook her head, the warmth that filled her eyes seemingly like the astronomy and geography she knew, able to reassure people. “This is what Wanfang ought to do.”

“These floods were actually the scheme of a some deity. To have endangered millions of people, this deity does not deserve to be addressed as such.” Hou Ji indignantly said.

The others were not as irate as she was. They were very aware that the moment the Register Of Deities began, the ambitions and desires of three thousand Divine Names were already active. For this moment all throughout the ages, even a sage could not remain indifferent.

“Just what is the current situation with the floods. Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin has already slain the Fuzhu, then the Ancient Eight Demons should have been exterminated.” Bo Yi was confused. From her perspective, among the Ancient Eight Demons, only the Fuzhu who received Emperor Yao’s favor and who could control the storms was the most powerful. If they could kill it, then dispelling the flood formation would be trivial.

Bai Ze explained: “No, there is is still the Lingling.”

“The Lingling? This demon is far from comparison to the Fuzhu. Li Yu and Qingjie should be able to kill it.” Bo Yi was taken aback.

“Sister Yu, convene a conference of the lords at Mount Tu for now. We must discuss the details.” Qi Lin suggested.

Yu The Great nodded. In fact, when the downpour became abnormal, she had already ordered Xian Zhen to transmit the news to all of the nations and tribes in the Northern Primordial, to summon them the chiefs to Mount Tu for another discussion on how to proceed. However, this proved unnecessary, for the other Divine Name chiefs were also rushing back to Mount Tu. Now, the Northern Primordial was already suffering from an unprecedented flood such that the Eternal River was inundated and already unable to stop it, drowning all things. Only Mount Tu remained intact, not suffering encroachment.

The Northern Primordial’s chiefs were coming to seek refuge at Mount Tu.

“Elder Brother must be tired. Rest well for now.” Yu The Great softly said.

“Yes.”

Yu The Great glanced at Lü Dongbin. She wanted to say something but stopped.

Qi Lin refined the Immortal-slaying Flying Dagger in his room, with the dagger emitting dark light that pierced through space. Without the gourd’s assistance, it was far from being as sharp as the rumors said, but if he could catch the enemy by surprise, he could still inflict kill in a single blow.

As far as Qi Lin knew, the Immortal-slaying Flying Dagger was Lu Ya’s1 magic treasure. He wondered if that red-robed woman was Lu Ya.

Qi Lin wiped his brow. Too many things had happened recently, making his head ache very much.

The words that red-robed woman left behind informed him that the floods clearly were only the beginning. Perhaps Primordial World still had even more calamities that would transpire in succession.

He needed to protect Qi Qi through to the end of the battle of the Register Of Deities, but his current strength and Realm were far from enough. Qi Lin sighed. Although he had cultivated from Qi Refinement Nine Turns to God Transformation Six Paths in less than a year, a rise in Realm that could only be described as an outsider as a meteoric rise, he was very aware that a Realm like this was insufficient for battle against a Divine Name.

Someone gently knocked on the door.

Qi Lin put away his thoughts and stowed the dagger in his void space bag. “Come in.”

The door opened, and Yu The Great strode into the room with a gentle pace.

Qi Lin stepped forward to pour her some tea. “Little SIster Yu, is this about Lü Qingxuan?”

Yu The Great smiled: “Nothing escapes Elder Brother.”

“I am not very clear on either Lü Dongbin or Laozi. Little Sister, speak with Big Brother.” Qi Lin invited her to sit down. The two of them took their seats and discussed with gusto. Whether it was the Western Primordial or Northern Primordial, Primordial World’s records were limited. Although he was very interested in understanding, he was not sure where to start. Many Divine Names and ancient matters were not very clear. Some legends could only be gleaned from everyday discussions.

Upon mentioning Lü Dongbin’s name, everyone’s expressions became grim. He wondered why this was.

“This is actually nothing noteworthy. Grand Supreme Laozi is the head of the Three Purities and assists Lady Nüwa. It is said that she is much more tolerant than other sages.”

“En, her disciple should not be bad.” Qi Lin nodded. Having gotten to know Lü Qingxuan over the past few days, other than this woman honestly being very talkative and fond of saying frivolous things that a Divine Name basically could never utter aloud, she actually was not particularly arrogant.

“However, does Elder Brother not feel this is very strange? For what reason would Lü Dongbin come to the Northern Primordial and just so happen to rescue Bai Ze?” Yu The Great was very meticulous.

Qi Lin had also thought of this question. The Northern Primordial was categorized as the most savage of the four continents. In particular, it was the grounds of the Immemorial Royal Family’s legacy bloodline, the Shaman Clan. The Three Doctrines’ Divine Names generally would not be willing to enter and provoke the Northern Primordial.

“It may be that Laozi has dispatched her disciple to investigate the flooding in the Northern Primordial.” Thinking of this, Qi Lin could only think of this reason. “Or perhaps the Demon Emperor’s plan has been seen through by Laozi, and she sent Lü Qingxuan to stop her.”

“Perhaps. But This King feels she may have come for Qi Qi.”

Yu The Great glanced at the girl sleeping sprawled on the bed, her limbs splayed out.

“Why? Because she is Sun Wukong?”

“Elder Brother is not aware that back then, the Ocean-calming Needle was conferred by Laozi to the Eastern Sea Crystal Palace as the palace-setting magic treasure.”

Qi Lin was taken aback. He did not expect there would be this detail.

“Qi Qi has seized the Ruyi Jingu Bang, which surely would have alarmed Laozi. This is why she dispatched her disciple, Lü Dongbin. She must have tracked you to the Northern Primordial, and it may be that she inadvertently encountered Bai Ze as the girl was being hunted. She lent a hand to save her, but realizing she was no match, she recalled Sun Wukong and thus fled to where Elder Brother was at…” Yu The Great explained at length, her analysis leaving Qi Lin dumbstruck.

Thinking carefully, Yu The Great’s theory honestly was very logical, for it could explain all of these coincidences. Qi Lin also was not very convinced that he would just happen to save Lü Dongbin and that the red-robed woman would let them go.

“This King asked Bai Ze, and Lü Dongbin only fled to your location after she inquired your whereabouts.”

Qi Lin’s expression became somewhat grave.

“Big Brother actually need not worry. The disciple of the Grand Supreme Laozi would not want to harm Qi Qi.” Yu The Great comforted.

“En, I know what Little Sister wants to say…Now that Qi Qi has caught even Laozi’s attention, there will be even more dangerous Divine Names eyeing her in the future.” Qi Lin’s gaze also looked to his little sister sleeping on the bed.

“En, back then, the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven caused trouble in the Heavenly Court and gained the appreciation of the Donghuang Taiyi. The details of her death later are unclear, with too many mysteries surrounding it. And Sun Wukong is a Divine Name that transcends the Three Realms and is outside the Five Elements, ignoring karma. In all of Primordial World, she is unique.”

“Can Little Sister Wenming speak at length with me about the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court? There aren’t many records about the incidents of Qi Qi’s previous incarnation.”

Yu The Great regretfully said: “This King is not very sure. Records about the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court are already scarce, and some of the surviving records are rumor. The disturbance in the Heavenly Court is apparently quite taboo for the Three Doctrines.”

“It seems if I want to truly understand Qi Qi, I’ll have to learn about what happened in that Heavenly Court disturbance.” Qi Lin frowned.

Yu The Great agreed.

After hearing Yu The Great’s analysis, Qi Lin’s desire to protect Qi Qi became even stronger.

“Right, I still have to thank Little Sister Wenming for blessing me…If not for Little Sister’s blessing, we siblings would have been separated by death.” Qi Lin recalled this. If not for the Divine Energy that protected him in that critical moment, he honestly would have been at risk.

“We siblings truly think alike, ha, ha.” Qi Lin happily said.

Yu The Great’s expression was a bit flushed as she faintly smiled: “Elder Brother, you are too formal. For controlling the floods and concerning yourself with all the people, let alone Elder Brother, even an ordinary person would have the qualifications to receive the recognition of the lords.”

Qi Lin gripped Yu The Great’s hand tight: “Alright. From now on, I won’t treat Little Sister Wenming so formally.”

They stared at each other.

This night was too fleeting.
