Hou Yi’s Destiny was like flaring sunlight, entering Qi Lin’s body after circling around him.
Because Hou Yi left it behind willingly after death, it did not need to undergo Qi Qi’s refinement. Ancient Arrow Sovereign’s Destined “Sun-chasing Arrow” fused into Qi Lin’s blood vessels. His blood was boiling, and the inside of every blood vessel seemed to flow with scalding hot magma, making Qi Lin feel he was in a sauna, that his whole body was hot. But Qi Lin’s face was not at all delighted at this victory.
Even so, Lu Wu was much more gratified in comparison to him.
“Congratulations, Your Distinguished Self and your Divine Name have received the qualifications to meet Master Mother.”
Qi Lin looked at that gate, the hallowed Divine Gate.
That was the holy land that countless cultivators yearned in their dreams to reach.
He walked directly by, yet he carried Chang’s corpse. What happened afterwards surprised Lu Wu, for this young man did not push open the Divine Gate at all to enter the covered Kunlun Void. Rather, he turned and walked in another direction.
“Your Distinguished Self, those granted an audience with the Queen Mother are not permitted to step back…This is an affront to Master Mother…In light of Your Distinguished Self’s ignorance and Master Mother’s benevolence, we can give Your Distinguished Self one chance.” Lu Wu’s tone lowered, and her gentle eyes were like a frozen sheet of ice.
Her tone could kill.
Qi Lin stopped, but unlike what Lu Wu thought, he had no reluctance leaving the Kunlun Void. Lu Wu noticed that, at this moment, all of this young man’s thoughts were focused on the deceased girl in his arms – an audience with the Queen Mother was already meaningless to him.
“Do you wish to use the Mother Moon Xianyao to save her?” Lu Wu’s tone was still ice-cold, but like a spring breeze blowing through a valley, it was much warmer.
“Please apologize to the Queen Mother for Your Servant’s discourtesy. Your Servant has someone even more important to take care of.” Qi Lin calmly answered.
“Qi Lin, this is most unwise. As you are right now, you will not be able to cross the waters of the Mother Moon Xianyao’s immortal lake. Furthermore, even if you resuscitated this girl, only one person is permitted an audience with Master Mother. Your actions right now throw away everything you have done until now.” Lu Wu coldly rebuked. She was very impressed with Qi Lin, and she did not wish to see the rare promising young man renounce the Queen Mother’s reward like this. It was known that in Primordial World, even a Divine General like the Immemorial Royal Family’s Yi coveted Master Mother’s reward and had even betrayed her own Divine Spirit. If Qi Lin was able to obtain the peaches of immortality, he would someday become a cultivator not inferior to Primordial World’s Four Dukes in the future Register Of Deities.
Lu Wu helped Qi Lin analyze the benefits and drawbacks in the hopes that this youth could calm down.
Chang’s death was already unavoidable. To use the Mother Moon Xianyao for a resurrection was merely a way to console himself, and the result of this would be that Qi Lin had thrown away all the trials and tribulations he endured the past few days to receive the qualifications for an audhence with the Queen Mother Of The West when the end was just within reach.
Qi Lin nodded, showing gratitude before he dutifully carried Chang towards the cliff.
“Even if you are acting out of your own selfishness, you ought to think of your Divine General.” Lu Wu scolded.
But to Qi Qi, nothing was more important than being at her big brother’s side.
Watching this Invested Deity Emissary renounce the opportunity to enter the Kunlun Void like this, Lu Wu, the guardian deity of Western Kunlun, suffered an indescribable blow.
At death’s door, Chang had practically stopped breathing. Hou Yi’s arrow had cruelly severed her very life. However, Qi Lin still held on to this sliver of life. He already treated Chang as his younger sister in his mind. He could live without the Queen Mother’s reward, and he could also devise another way to reach the Eastern Sea. However, he could not fail to save his little sister’s life. Even if the price was his own, he would not stand and watch.
Using the Green Satchel Book to maintain Chang’s life, Qi Lin reached the cliff edge.
The cliff was empty, for the time was not right. The Mother Moon Xianyao only blossomed for that moment when moonlight shone upon it.
“Even if she was still alive, she would not hope that you save her.”
Lu Wu quietly appeared and watched from the side, aloof.
Qi Lin was somewhat annoyed with her incessant persuasions, “Lady Lu Wu, to me, my little sister’s life is far more important than the Queen Mother. I won’t just watch her die, stop talking.”
Normally, if someone were to blaspheme Master Mother in such a manner, Lu Wu would not have hesitated to terminate them. But this time, Lu Wu remained very calm. On the contrary, she was very impressed.
She remained silent as Qi Lin asked.
Chang’s body was already ice-cold. Qi Lin hugged her to maintain her temperature. When Qi Qi saw her big brother like this, she also felt very hurt and paced back and forth restlessly.
“Chang, say something.” Qi Lin called out her name.
But Chang’s breath was practically gone.
There was not enough time already to wait like this.
All of a sudden, the skies turned dark. The sun set, and the moon rose. In the blink of an eye, the Nine Divine Gates had already entered night. Lu Wu grunted and glanced in the direction of the Kunlun Void. Qi Lin felt a chill in his heart, for he realized this was the doing of the Queen Mother Of The West’s Divine Energy.
Moonlight fell upon the cliff. The Mother Moon Xianyao slowly blossomed out of thin air, petal by petal, inch by inch. A silver river of immortal water flooded the ravine.
“Even the Primordial Spirit of a cultivator will pay a heavy price for touching the water of the immortal lake!!” Lu Wu uttered one final warning.
Without even thinking.
Great Sage Equal Of Heaven Sun Wukong wanted to charge down to help her big brother pluck the flower, but Qi Lin stopped her: “Qi Qi, stop. Allow me.”
“Big Brother, you cannot go.” Qi QI stared.
Qi Qi was only Middle Ancient Divine Realm. Even with Ten Million Destinies, it would be very difficult to cross the water of the immortal lake. “I have a way. Qilin, oh, qilin, I’m counting on you.” Qi Lin lifted Chang, shut his eyes, stepped over the edge, and fell into the water of the immortal lake.
From the outside, the water of the immortal lake appeared magnificent, thin as a cicada’s wing, completely harmless. But only when he was in the middle of it did he discover that this immortal lake was like a thunder pond.
The water of the immortal lake wrapped around Qi Lin, who sealed off his hundred pores. A profound intent erupted from the depths of his body; that was the power of the Holy Beast Qilin’s heart, one of Primordial World’s Five Great Holy Beasts. The Qilin stood watch over the center and was known as the head of the Holy Beasts. The heart of the Qilin trembled with ka-cha, sound. The immortal water raged, and the thin membrane ripped. But immediately, the water of the immortal lake gathered into hundreds of droplets, like falling pearls. They suddenly swirled and flew towards Qi Lin’s pores.
“What is this?” Qi Lin was shocked when the water of the immortal lake exploded.
The water of the immortal lake was practically insubstantial. That was the concentrated True Qi of the Mother Moon Xianyao’s ten thousand years of Yin energy, yet it was also like a person’s will.
This will was tall as a mountain, vast as the sea. It was like Heaven, it was like hell. It directly assaulted Qi Lin’s soul; sealing his pores was useless.
No wonder it was said that even a Primordial Spirit contaminated by the water of the immortal lake could not recover. The Mother Moon Xianyao’s ability, “immortal lake,” could dissolve even pure Yang. Cultivators trained their souls, Primordial Infants, and Primordial Spirits, but these could not be free of the essence of Yin or Yang. Thus, it was very difficult for cultivators to withstand this will.
Qi Lin used the Dual Modes Seal with all his might to absorb the Mother Moon Xianyao’s power, but it was like an endless ocean. Though formidable, using the Dual Modes Seal was like dousing a flaming cart with a cup of water.
The heart of the Holy Beast began to weaken. The immortal lake’s will began to seep into Qi Lin’s acupoints.
“I must save Chang.” Qi Lin grit his teeth and swam through the Mother Moon Xianyao with all the strength he could muster. There was but one thought left in his mind – make Chang ingest the spirit medicine.
“Big Brother!!!” Qi Qi grew more and more frantic as she paced all over the cliff edge, but she was unable to approach this immortal lake. She had only touched it, but her Destiny was nearly subsumed by the immortal lake, scaring the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven, leaving her with no choice but to retreat.
“The Mother Moon Xianyao has been in Western Kunlun for generations. Even High Ancient Realm Divine Generals are unable to refine its primordial Yin. Even if you make her ingest it, so what? This feeble Divine General will be unable to absorb the medicinal power of the Mother Moon Xianyao and will become dust in the end. Qi Lin…there is no need to do something so futile.” Lu Wu sighed at his obstinance. Such an interesting man was a rare sight, but it was a pity he would die for personal feelings. This was honestly too foolish.
Qi Lin was already unable to hear anything. The Mother Moon Xianyao’s Primordial Yin True Qi began to invade his soul.
From his pores, to his nerves, through his tissue and even his skin and bones, the Primordial Yin True Qi began to slowly dissolve him.
Lu Wu already saw the ending.
In another moment, this young man would thoroughly dissolve into the immortal lake without even a skeleton left behind.
“There is no such thing as perfection in this world.” Lu Wu shook her head, not wishing to watch any longer.
Qi Lin was just one step away from the Mother Moon Xianyao when, in the end, he was nevertheless unable to proceed further. His body seemed to be dissolved, and he was unable to even feel his arms or legs. Qi Qi was in agony. She screamed as she charged into the immortal lake, disregarding the effect of the Primordial Yin True Qi on herself.
Just at this dangerous moment, a ray of white light descended from the sky.
That white light was like a sword that split Yin and Yang apart. The water of the immortal lake parted in an instant.
A beautiful woman with white hair, white pupils, white clothes, and white skin appeared beside Qi Lin.
Her arrival was so sudden.
Without warning like snow on a spring day, freezing to the bone, beautiful to the extreme. Even Lu Wu was caught off guard.
“We meet again.”
The woman who was as white as snow looked at Qi Lin, her gaze like ice.
“For whose sake are you throwing your life away this time.”
She looked at Qi Lin. Her tone was familiar, for she was none other than White Emperor Shaohao.
“Save Chang.”
Qi Lin could hardly get the two words out.
“Since is the case, I shall oblige your noble sacrifice.” Shaohao moved through the immortal lake. She raised her sword, lifted Chang, and instantly reached the Mother Moon Xianyao. Then, with lightning-speed, she placed this spirit medicine in Chang’s mouth.
As for Qi Lin’s life, Shaohao was aloof – there was always a price for saving a life.
The Primordial Yin True Qi had practically consumed most of Qi Lin’s body, leaving only a single thought. But somehow, Qi Lin felt an unprecedented feeling of release. He was clearly at death’s door, yet he felt free.
When Chang’s life force began to recover, Qi Lin was sincerely grateful.
Thereupon.
His last thought also vanished.
…
Qi Lin had a very long dream.
In the dream, he was caught in the middle of the ocean, the warm waters of which surrounded him, making him return to the very beginning moments of his life. Qi Lin slowly slumbered in the warmth, with all conflicts far from him.
Qi Lin felt he could stay forever in this ocean.
But a bright light appeared in the dark ocean, revealing a body as beautiful as a mermaid. A young lady wearing only a thin piece of silk to cover her lower half appeared in the sea. Around her were ten moons. These ten moons were so beautiful and bright, completely illuminating the dark ocean, bringing even greater warmth.
Qi Lin vaguely felt that this girl’s features were a bit familiar.
The girl swam in front of him, her beautiful body exposed, but she was not bashful at all. In those eyes that were more captivating than the moonlight, Qi Lin saw heartbreaking fear, worry, and tear stains.
“Don’t go.”
The girl’s voice gradually awakened Qi Lin from his hazy stupor, but nothing more. QI Lin was unable to feel his own body, and even his own existence persisted only because this girl was calling to him.
That is, until she kissed him.
His lips began to warm up, then his body, and finally he began to gain substance.
The girl passionately kissed him, to give her everything to this man.
“Please remember my name…”
“I am ‘Moon Mother’ Changxi.”1

Qi Lin nodded, showing gratitude before he dutifully carried *Qi Lin towards the cliff.
… Uh, you mean Chang here right?
I understand where Qi Lin was coming from, and it was a chad move, but bro! You also had Qi Qi to worry about! I kinda hope she slaps him…. I really do.
Speaking of Qi Qi… NONE of this can be good for her heart. Like, I shudder to imagine what she’d do if he’d died for real…. Yeah, she’d lose in the end, but man…
Thanks for pointing that out. I just don’t like how contrived the scenario is just to add a new member to the party. Qi Lin knew her for like a week, but he’s acting like they’ve known each other for ages.
