Several months later.

Northern Primordial, where rain cut like a knife.

The ten thousand li Northern Primordial was comparable to the bottomless Eastern Sea, with countless strange and towering peaks that were like a series of giant beasts looming over the wilderness. The cries of strange beasts occasionally came from the peaks, reaching into the Nine Firmaments and shaking all directions. As far as the eye could see, it was like entering a cage full of ancient giant beasts. In truth, this was more or less the case. Of Primordial World’s Four Primordials and Five Provinces, there was a saying that the “center province has spirit, the east province has wine, the west province has jade, the south soldiers, and the north beasts.” The saying that the northern province had beasts meant that the Great Primordial Northern Province contained the most beasts in Primordial World.

Immemorial Terrible Beasts and High Ancient Fierce Beasts could be said to be innumerable in the Northern Primordial. Each peak was ruled by a Fierce Beast that was at least comparable to Transforming God Realm or higher.

Because the terrain of the Northern Primordial was complicated, the peaks fraught with all manner of Strange Beasts, the people of the Northern Primordial mostly followed a type of ancient tribal custom; they were far less bustling than the other Great Provinces that already had flourishing city-states and capital cities.

The Northern Primordial was more like an abandoned immemorial wildland.

QI Lin followed Yu The Great to the Northern Primordial and was awestruck by the vast scene of wilderness in front of him. The Western Primordial’s Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded felt truly insignificant in comparison.

“Master was right, the Northern Primordial is Primordial World’s most primitive region.” Nezha watched these beast-like peaks, amazed at this scene that stretched into the sky.

“The people of the Northern Primordial are no different from those in the other provinces. To describe them as ‘primitive’ is merely your prejudice.” Yu The Great calmly replied.

Nezha stuck out her tongue.

“I actually can’t see any flooding here.” Qi Lin looked around.

“This is only a very small part of the ‘Eight Desolate Mountains.’ We are still at least ten days away from the flooded regions.” Yu The Great explained.

“How is the flooding situation right now?” Qi Lin inquired.

Yu The Great explained as they traveled. Ever since the Register Of Deities activated, the lands suddenly flooded. The Northern Primordial had a major river known as “Eternal” that spanned the entire region, and the river had ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine tributaries, of which many already overflowed, causing flooding and bringing disaster down upon the people.

The Northern Primordial had never seen flooding of such magnitude in all its history.

“The Central Plains Divine Court isn’t concerned?” Nezha asked.

“Although the Central Plains Divine Court has unified Primordial World in name, why would they bother with outside matters. To them, alleviating the floods in the Northern Primordial offers them no benefits. The Northern Primordial’s nations have already requested aid from the Divine Court, but we have not received a response.” The woman hung her head in dejection.

“The you’re the only one who wants to control this flood?” Qi Lin looked at her.

To be frank, in Primordial World, Divine Names were all high above, and they remained relatively uninvolved with disasters in the Three Realms. Particularly after the Register Of Deities activated, Divine Names were even less likely to waste their Divine Energy to commit to some meaningless matters. However, to think that Yu The Great wanted to control the floods, Qi Lin felt this was quite reasonable.

“I could never just look on as the floods devastate the people of the Northern Primordial.” Yu The Great calmly answered.

“Then we should first investigate just what this flood is.”

This was a torrential downpour, the droplets of which were the size of beans and like concentrated bullets dropping from the sky, enveloping the mountain range. The downpour was endless and quite exasperating.

According to Yu The Great, this rain had been falling for a full ten years. “Ten years of rain. Not even the Eternal River could handle it.”

Qi Qi loathed water. Even rainwater caused her to show an impatient expression.

After several more hours of flying, they suddenly heard the immense sound of a torrent. Below, the river surged over the banks, submerging the tribes and forests that were along the way.

“It is getting worse.” Yu The Great was miserable.

Passing by several more peaks, the environment grew increasingly hostile. The rain was severe, each droplet hurtling mercilessly down like they weighed a thousand catties. Qi Lin needed to use his magical energy to be able to resist. The higher the altitude, the stronger the storm. It was like an enemy magic treasure, making QI Lin feel taxed.

Nezha, a bit frustrated by this rain, asked if they had arrived yet.

All of a sudden, melodious qin music came through the rain. This music was crisp and mellow, like pearls clattering onto a jade plate, sounding very pleasant in the rain. This music was so captivating that even the local beasts were enraptured. Hearing this beautiful music, Qi Lin could not help but recall when he first heard Prince Changqin’s wind music, and he felt the urge to see the musician’s face.

Yu The Great saw through his thinking and faintly grinned: “Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin, do you perhaps feel this music is beautiful?”

“That the Northern Primordial could have such wonderful qin music, she should be a beautiful Divine Name?” Qi Lin did not conceal his admiration.

Yu The Great faintly smiled, something indescribably graceful.

“What?” Qi Lin saw she was a bit smug.

“The one playing the qin is not a woman, and most definitely not a Divine Name…It is a very ancient Terrible Beast.” Yu The Great explained.

“Huh, Terrible Beast?”

Nezha was startled. The girl said, “Don’t fool me, what Demon Beast could play such beautiful music.”

“This mountain is known as ‘Hengtian,’ and a Terrible Beast known as the ‘Qin Bug’ dwells here. It is able to play wind music in perfect harmony, a sound beyond wonderful, and it does so specifically to lure cultivators in. If a cultivator were to think of seeing it in person, as His Distinguished Self Qi Lin did, then I fear they will have fallen into its trap.” Yu The Great explained.

Qi Lin sighed. He never expected such a Strange Beast to exist among the Northern Primordial’s oddities.

“Now that the Northern Primordial is flooded, many Strange Beasts have become increasingly ferocious. Be careful.” Yu The Great exhorted.

Qi Lin nodded, but Qi Qi disagreed as she idly fidgeted with the Jingu Bang.

The Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner that Qi Lin was currently cultivating required the conglomeration of many Immemorial Strange Beast souls. Right now, it was far from completion, and with this Qin Bug being so formidable, he considered finding an opportunity to take this Demon Beast’s soul.

Yu The Great’s nation was the “Ji,” but because the Eternal River was flooded, the majority of the Northern Primordial’s tribal nations suffered the deluge and were drowned. The people all fled and sought refuge at higher ground; the place Yu The Great was bringing Qi Lin to was Forebears Mountain.

Forebears Mountain was the tallest mountain in this wilderness. It had a forest that stretched across a thousand li, and it was very suitable for sheltering from the rain.

Nezha was already beginning to complain. The girl had originally thought that it would be very fun to come to the Northern Primordial, but as it turned out, the pouring rain was endless, making her body feel very uncomfortable. Even the air was saturated. Although she could use Divine Energy to shield herself, this was too wasteful.

Fortunately, the group was already nearing Forebears Mountain after a few days.

They hurried through the rain when, all of a sudden, roaring thunder boomed in front of them.

A figure engaged three lion Demon Beasts in battle. Those Fierce Beasts were completely covered in flaming red fur, with serpentine tails and blazing claws. Even the heavy downpour was unable to quench the inferno on their bodies. These tigers had four eyes, each pair like raging flames.

“Blaze Eyes!”

Yu The Great froze when she saw these beasts.

The Blaze Eyes was a Transforming God Realm-level Fierce Beasts and were exceptionally ferocious. In the Northern Primordial tribes, in order to prove a warrior’s bravery, the fur of a Blaze Eye was often used as clothing and its eyes as decorations as evidence of glory. The more Blaze Eye pupils a warrior wore, the more respect they received.

The figure fighting the Blaze Eyes was too indistinct in the curtain of rain, but the three Blaze Eyes were sufficient to make a majority of Northern Primordial warriors shrink back in fear. Judgining from the situation, where there was surprisingly also a Blaze Eye corpse on the ground, the person battling the Blaze Eyes had fallen into a bitter struggle; even their skin had caught fire.

Generally, Blaze Eyes were solitary creatures. It was extremely rare for three to engage in a pack hunt.

That figure ripped apart the curtain of rain and revealed herself to be a young lady about seventeen to eighteen years old. Her shoulders were slender, and her waist was as thin as a ribbon. The girl’s hair reached her waist, and her profile was that of a picturesque beauty.

This young girl gripped a wooden excavation tool with two prongs. It was shaped like a fork, with a crank handle at the top and a plowshare at the bottom. Qi Lin recognized that it was a bit similar to the “plows” of China’s ancient pre-Qin period. Compared to the woman’s beauty, it was quite incongruous.

The girl wielded the plow against the three Blaze Eyes in battle. She was also formidable, cycling about between the three Fierce Beasts, calm and unhurried.

“Hou Ji.” Yu The Great was stunned and hurriedly rushed over.

Hou Ji?

Was that not the ancestor of the Zhou dynasty, the god of agriculture in ancient China?

Qi Lin felt chills. He also immediately hefted the Meteoric Iron Divine Staff and followed.

Qi QI had no interest in fighting a tiger, and she stopped Nezha from going: “Let Big Brother handle this himself.”

“Why.” Nezha was confused.

Ever since Qi Qi obtained the Ruyi Jingu Bang, she instructed Qi Lin in the Great Sage’s staff techniques. Now was the time to see the results.

The three Blaze Eyes saw the newcomers, and two of the Strange Beasts turned to face them. Yu The Great attacked with the Water Controlling Divine Staff and helped lift the siege on Hou Ji. The other Blaze Eye pounced towards Qi Lin. The Meteoric Iron Divine Staff descended like a meteor, thundering with a loud sound as it smashed apart the rain.

It clashed with the Blaze Eyes’ claws like they were made of iron. Then, flames spiraled out from the beast’s claws.

Qi Lin thrust the staff and used Weight Of Mount Tai.

The Blaze Eyes was suppressed, but the Divine Energy of Weight Of Mount Tai was not strong. In the Northern Primordial, the Blaze Eyes was already accustomed to the pressure of Divine Energy and shrugged off the move after a brief struggle. That snake tail struck, and it clamped down on the Meteoric Iron Divine Staff with its jaws.

Shit.

Qi Lin nearly let go. This Blaze Eyes’ strength was far stronger than he had imagined.

With the weapon locked by the snake tail, the Blaze Eyes immediately used its own power. The spiraling fire tore apart the rain, and the surrounding droplets became projectiles of fire and water that barraged Qi Lin. Hundred of fireballs struck Qi Lin. Any other Primordial Infant cultivator would have already been destroyed, but the downpour around Qi Lin suddenly exhibited a phenomenon, surprisingly gathering together to merge with the fire.

Fireball and waterball crisscrossed above Qi Lin, who extended his hands and formed a seal. The ball of water and fire then split apart like the Taiji.

“Dual Modes Seal: Fire and Water!” Qi Lin thrust out his hand.

The water and fire balls fused together and shot towards the Blaze Eyes, which was left covered in soot and dirt. The snake tail also loosened its grip, allowing Qi Lin to then attack with the staff, utilizing the Great Sage’s staff techniques and the Meteoric Iron Divine Staff’s strength to quickly strike the Blaze Eyes.

After a lot of effort, this Blaze Eyes was finally covered in wounds.

The flaming fur of the Blaze Eyes suddenly swelled, becoming a searing flame that attacked Qi Lin.

“Look out, that is Beast Fire Body Burn.” Hou Ji was alarmed.

Beast Fire Body Burn was practically the Blaze Eyes’ mutual destruction attack. It was extremely dangerous and once used on the enemy, even the Primordial Spirit would be incinerated. Hou Ji wanted to intervene to save this man, but she had just walked in front of him when that blaze was suddenly dispersed. That tiger was already in its death throes under Qi Lin’s foot.

“Many thanks for the concern, Lady Ji.” Qi Lin flashed her a bright grin.

The girl was taken aback and bashfully nodded.
