Multi-colored light gathered in the sky, assuming the shape of a woman.

That woman had long, floating, multi-colored hair. She was extremely elegant, wearing a feathered skirt the beauty of which could not be described with words. Her skin was whiter than snow, her figure graceful, as if she was a natural masterpiece. Primordial World’s Divine Generals possessed overwhelming beauty. The word “beautiful” was already profuse in Primordial World, but for the first time in his life, Qi Lin felt the awe of “this woman is beautiful as a portrait.”

In particular, her eyes were brighter than starlight, changing between green, yellow, red, black and white, brimming with psychedelic colors.

She gazed at him with a personality of innate perfection. After a while, the multi-colored light grew increasingly bright.

“Big Brother.”

“Big Brother.”

Gradually the beautiful woman’s figure faded. Qi Lin focused, and Qi Qi’s worried expression came into view; the girl was slapping his cheeks.

“I’m awake.”

The others sighed in relief.

Qi Lin recovered a bit of his consciousness and saw that Qi Qi, Nezha and Yu The Great were gathered around him.

“Did I lose consciousness?” Qi Lin rubbed his temple, feeling as if something had sprouted in his mind, something indescribably strange.

“En. You must have worked too hard these past few days. Elder Brother Qi Lin, you should return to Forebears Mountain and rest for now.” Yu The Great said.

Qi Lin was puzzled. Why did he dream of a woman he was completely unfamiliar with, and one that was unexpectedly stunning. “Qi Lin, is this peacock’s tonight’s meal?” Nezha twitched her mouth.

Only then did Qi Lin notice the ashen phoenix asleep in his arms. Its body was warm, its feathers fluffy.

“Nezha, this is not for you to eat, I saved her.” Qi Lin saw that the peacock’s wounds were not completely healed and thus decided to bring her back to recuperate.

“Oh, this peacock is so ugly. Nezha would be unwilling to eat it.” Nezha twitched her mouth, her expression disdainful.

“Let us return for now.”

Yu The Great glanced at the peacock but said nothing.

The ashen peacock lay against Qi Lin’s chest and opened its eyes, showing an intelligent glint. Then, its eyes slowly closed.

A few hours after the group left, a black crow flew out from under the waterfall. It transformed into a spirit talisman that surged into the nine firmaments, and then it vanished from view.

Returning to the palace on lower Forebears Mountain, Qi Lin learned from Yu The Great the results of their water conservancy survey. Qi Qi’s Jingu Bang measured the water depth to help Yu The Great dredge waterways, but the results were not optimistic at all. The Eternal River had too many tributaries, and the Northern Primordial was incomparably expansive. Each and every tributary was an unimaginably immense engineering project.

Qi Lin also explained his perspective regarding the “Dragon Reincarnation” fengshui.

After learning that Qi Lin was capable of the Immemorial Royal Family’s geomancy arts, Yu The Great’s group was astonished. Although the Ji tribe was a legacy bloodline of the Immemorial Royal Family, there were not many in the tribe who understood geomancy. Yu The Great knew some things, but she had never thought to use geomancy to help survey the terrain.

“Elder Brother Qi Lin’s meaning is that this flood is not caused by the heavenly way but by someone else?” Yu The Great contemplated.

“According to geomancy, there is no mistake.” Qi Lin nodded. Primordial World’s fengshui was such that the heavenly way complemented earthly law; a situation that was contrary would not appear. Only an artificial factor could change fengshui.

“But as far as I am aware, changing the heavenly way and earthly law is not something the average Divine Name is capable of.” Yu The Great said.

“”This flood has submerged most of the Northern Primordial, which is indeed very strange. If we do not thoroughly investigate the cause, it will be very difficult to control the flood.” Qi Lin did not want to discourage her.

“I wonder how much the Xuanyuanshi and Chiyou know.”

“The pressing matter is to first prepare the Ji tribe’s people for the journey to Zhuolu, then investigate the circumstances of the flood.” Qi Lin said.

Yu The Great faintly smiled, calm as a lake lotus. Her smile could turn rainwater to dew.

“Very well. Thank you for the suggestion, Elder Brother.”

Over the next few days, other than cultivating, Qi Lin helped Yu The Great with the survey for waterworks. For some reason, the injured peacock always stuck itself to him. Hou Ji wanted to dispatch a tribesman to care for it, but it refused.

Ever since he inadvertently lost consciousness, Qi Qi was not very relaxed and made Nezha always accompany Qi Lin.

Nezha was increasingly interested in this ashen peacock. Pity that the gray peacock’s standoffish and aloof manner made the little girl’s twist in displeasure.

Qi Lin completed another survey. Based on his dimensional imagination, he drew up a network of waterways for Eight Desolates Mountain.

“Qi Lin, I think your peacock is too clingy. Even Qi Qi is jealous.” Nezha stared from the bank at the peacock clinging to Qi Lin’s chest. That comfortable appearance it had was too loathsome.

“It’s injured, and it seems that staying by me helps its wounds heal a bit better.” Qi Lin said.

“Have you named it?” Nezha asked.

“Name?” Qi Lin had not thought of one yet. However, seeing the peacock was so clingy, it apparently did not want to leave. “I’ll call it Baibai.”

“This name is so gross.” Nezha was speechless.

Qi Lin laughed. “You can see that Baibai doesn’t mind.”

The ashen peacock still maintained an aloof and cold goddess’ attitude and buried its head in comfortable slumber.

Suddenly, the peacock’s eyes opened, and a ray of light glowed. Changxi finally emerged from Qi Lin’s Divine Womb.

“Changxi, why did you come out.” Qi Lin promptly supported her.

“Brother Qi Lin, I am much better.” Changxi softly said.

“The rain here is heavy, you’d better rest in the Divine Womb.” Qi Lin saw that the Northern Primordial’s weather was inclement. The rain was a downpour, loud as it struck the ground.

Changxi refused and glanced at the peacock. She formed a soft light in her hand, using Yin moonlight to heal the peacock. Mother Moon’s Destined Divine Energy was inherently suited for healing. Across all of Primordial World, its “Yin Energy” was unmatched. The peacock was somewhat resistant at first, but after it sensed the power in the moonlight, it calmed down.

Changxi’s gaze was filled with a loving radiance. She stroked the peacock’s back, carefully soothing it.

The peacock, which had been very resistant to people other than Qi Lin, meekly allowed her to pet it.

“Big Brother, can this flood control succeed?” Changxi softly asked.

Qi Lin sighed; things were not very optimistic.

“If this honestly does not work, I will go back and ask Master.” Nezha said.

“Your master, the Tayi Zhenren, could not possibly succeed in flood control.” Qi Lin shook his head.

“But Master can find a sage.” Nezha snorted.

“Primordial World’s four provinces and the Great Primordial itself are all legacies of the Immemorial Royal Family’s power and influence. Whether it’s Yu The Great or Xuanyuan, they are all Divine Names of the Immemorial Royal Family’s remnants. That the Three Doctrines did not exterminate them so swiftly is already pretty good.” Having stayed some time in the Northern Primordial, Qi Lin was already aware of the general situation.

The Immemorial Royal Family of the previous era had honestly left a lasting influence on the Three Doctrines, but Divine Names were born in the heavenly way. They were eternal and indestructible, and they could never be truly destroyed. However, some were still worth quite a bit of apprehension. Perhaps this was part of the reason why the Middle Earth Divine Court was turning a blind eye to the Northern Primordial’s flooding. Furthermore, Qi Lin was even slightly suspicious that the floods were the scheme of some sage.

“Oh, then we can seek out Lady Nüwa.” Nezha blinked. “Lady Nüwa was the Divine Court’s sage back then and was even one of the Three Sovereigns of the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court’s Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. She’ll definitely be willing to help.”

Qi Lin glanced at Changxi. It was said that the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court had the top-notch Divine Names, “Taiyi’s Twin Consorts, Three Sovereigns, and Five Emperors.” “Moon Mother” Changxi was one of the Twin Consorts, and he wondered if she had any thoughts.

Changxi gently shook her head. Although she bore the powerful Moon Mother Divine Name, she was basically without any idea until she underwent her karma tribulation.

“Never mind. Back then, the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court’s destruction was somewhat related to Lady Nüwa. If she were willing, she would have already intervened.” Qi Lin did not want to think of this any longer.

Nezha grunted.

Seeing that this girl was downcast like a wilted eggplant, Qi Lin smiled: “If you feel that the flood control is too tiring and too boring, you can go back. Qi Qi and I will come visit you later.”

Nezha indeed felt that the rain-drenched Northern Primordial was much more tedious than she had imagined. The girl thought for a moment, but she still bit her lip and refused. “No, Nezha is not someone who gives up halfway. Master wanted Nezha to train the One Life Lotus, anyways, so returning like this will get me scolded.”

“Very well.”

Qi Lin, Changxi, and Nezha returned to Forebears Mountain. Hou Ji saw that another gentle beauty was at Qi Lin’s side and gawked.

“This is my wife…Changxi.” Qi Lin introduced her.

“Huh, wife?” Hou Ji was even more shocked.

Changxi blushed from Qi Lin’s introduction, but she did not refute it. Rather, she very kindly smiled. Qi Lin felt that introducing Changxi as a little sister would give the image he was obsessed with little sisters, and Changxi’s personality was inherently very virtuous. To say she was his wife would not be incongruous. Right now, she was injured, and it was inevitable that he would have to help her heal. Moonlight healing was generally very dubious, so he may as well just introduce her as his wife to save some trouble.

“Just call me Xi.” Changxi warmly said.

Hou Ji came to her senses and grunted, lowering her had to continue her work.

“How is the progress of your Five Crops?” Qi Lin asked.

“I am currently looking into going to Zhuolu. Forebears Mountain’s waters are too swift, already unsuitable.” Hou Ji answered.

“If you need anything, just tell me. Maybe I can help you.”

“Hmph.”

After night fell and Qi Lin helped Changxi heal, he lay on the bed to rest. The rain pounded the window, playing a melody like a pipa, but this tune was tiring to listen to. Qi Lin was also beginning to feel a bit irritated when he recalled that controlling the floods would perhaps not finish even after two or three years. But he had already spoken and even recognized Yu The Great as his little sister; he could not possibly give up halfway.

Qi Lin stroked the soft feathers of “Baibai” as his eyelids slowly turned heavier and heavier.

In the darkness, multicolored lights suddenly appeared. These five lights slowly assumed the shape of a woman. Qi Lin was taken aback. He forcefully blinked and pinched himself but felt no pain whatsoever.

A dream?

“Controlling the Northern Primordial’s floods is beyond human ability. I have a plan that can help you.”

The woman spoke, her voice clear, as if it was a tune from the genesis of Heaven and Earth, ethereal and distant.

“How?” Qi Lin asked.

“The Northern Sea has a body of water known as ‘Yunmeng.’ In this dream, there is a Divine Name aware of the feelings of all creatures. She illuminates the form of all things under Heaven, knows of the astronomy above, the geography below, things that have gone by and things that have yet to come. If you want to know the cause of the floods and the way to control the waters, you can ask her. She can help you.”

The voice disappeared, and the light slowly vanished.

“Wait, just who are you, why do you appear now in my dreams.” Qi Lin hastily shouted.

The mysterious woman left behind a proud laugh. Then, the dream ended.

Qi Lin opened his eyes and suddenly awoke.

The downpour outside was intense. Heaven and Earth seemed fast asleep, for there was absolutely no sound.

Qi Lin stroked the peacock in his arms, pensive.
