Qi Lin, Qi Qi, Yu The Great, and Xian Zhen made haste towards Mount Tu, entering the Zhuolu region after a few days.
It was completely different compared to the Northern Primordial’s mountain terrain; Zhuolu was mostly fertile plains, and even the chain of mountains were draped in beautiful, verdant green. If it could be said that the Northern Primordial’s mountain ranges were untamed beasts, then Zhuolu’s were bashful young girls.
Mount Tu was Zhuolu’s biggest peak. It was said that Northern Heavenly Emperor Yao once held a banquet for heroes at Mount Tu, making celestial women dance, taking the sun and moon as food, using inconceivably gentle methods to easily subdue each of the Northern Primordial’s ancient powers, which spread her fame. Back then, when the Five Emperors were conquering the Primal Chaos Five COntinents, they mostly used bloody and cruel oppression. Even Shun, who was as famous as Yao, came to be so compared only later.
After this, Mount Tu became the location where the Northern Primordial’s tribal and national leaders convened banquets. Anytime there was a matter of importance to discuss, they would convene a meeting of the feudal lords at Mount Tu to adopt a resolution for the Northern Primordial. Consequently, when the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court was destroyed, the Northern primordial was extremely unified, thereby allowing the Northern Primordial’s Immemorial Royal Family to remain mostly intact.
Qi Lin and the others descended into Mount Tu, where they saw exotic flowers and plants vying for beauty, a display of magnificent color. The ancient underbrush was immersed in a hazy fog, lush, gloomy and mysterious. Thick moss accumulated on the floor of the forest while the fur and feathers of birds and beasts lay scattered all over. The forest brimmed with an ancient air, giving one a feeling of insignificance and isolation, as if they were in another world.
The boundless and vast primeval forest changed with the seasons, displaying all kinds of magnificent scenery.
It was no wonder Xuanyuan and Chiyou would struggle over Zhuolu. This kind of environment was far better than any other place in the Great Primordial.
“Whoever takes Zhuolu takes the Northern Primordial. Before the Register Of Deities activated, Zhuolu was the holy land of every tribe in the Northern Primordial, one that no one would dare encroach on, but ever since the floods, Xuanyuanshi and Chiyou have fought over Zhuolu in the name of seeking refuge. Now, this holy land is no longer very peaceful.” Xian Zhen sighed.
“This cannot be helped. While the Register Of Deities is active, every Divine Name wishes to pass their tribulations; they cannot remain stagnant and mediocre. On the other hand, the act of unifying the Northern Primordial is too great a feat.” Yu The Great gently said, her tone full of regret.
“Xuanyuanshi and Chiyou are the two strongest Divine Names in the Northern Primordial’s Great Shaman Clan. This General is only worried that their defeat will lead to the Heavenly Decree Palace taking advantage of the situation.” Xian Zhen was anxious.
Yu The Great was in firm agreement, but she was very aware of the temperaments of Xuanyuanshi and Chiyou. “They proclaimed themselves Queen Of the Northern Primordial and are determined to claim the Northern Primordial, refusing to heed the opinion of others.”
“Ai.”
Qi Lin listened to Yu The Great and Xian Zhen’s conversation, and he could not help but be even more curious about Xuanyuanshi and Chiyou.
The two entered Mount Tu’s summit. That place had an immense terrace, and on that terrace were ruins from when feudal lords gathered during Emperor Yao’s time. One could vaguely see the scene of the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court from back then in these old and dilapidated buildings.
The seating of the conference was a bit similar to an auditorium, appearing very relaxed, but at the top was a meticulously constructed platform. On it was a stone seat. Before Qi Lin had arrived, there were already several dozen Northern Primordial Tribes present. These tribes had Great Shaman Divine Names like Yan Fu as well as Great Shaman male cultivators with high Realms.
The heads of these tribes were all gathered together, discussing something with a woman.
When the Ji Tribe entered the summit, all the heads stopped their conversations and threw over puzzled gazes. Yu The Great’s determination to control the Northern Primordial’s floods was very well known, receiving the praise and assistance of every tribe’s leader, resulting in a very high reputation in the Northern Primordial.
All of the tribe heads acknowledged Yu The Great one after another, but Qi Lin noticed that most of their gazes were on him.
Qi Lin walked into the crowd and took a seat. He saw a woman sitting and drinking wine. That woman wore a wide-sleeved robe that dragged along the ground and a fluttering jade belt. Her black hair contrasted with her snow-white clothes, and there was a hint of arrogance on her brow. She treated the praise and fawning of the other heads with a bit of contempt.
Regardless, although this woman was very bossy and arrogant, she retained a kind of virtue and influence that seemed as heavy as the earth. Her every word and gesture, her every frown and smile, made one hardly unable to refuse her. On the contrary, her queenly demeanor seemed only natural.
“Yu The Great. Why have you summoned the lords for this conference?” The woman saw that Yu The Great had arrived. Her red lips parts, and her voice was like a morning bell, resounding and drawn-out.
“Elder Sister Xuanyuan.” Si Wenming gave her a faint smile.
Xuanyuan was the strongest in all of the Northern Primordial, occupying a majestic position. It was said that she had survived the Three Doctrines Register Of Deities period, that she shared drink and words with the Immemorial Royal Family. All of the Great Shaman Divine Names were required to call her Elder Sister.
“You address Us as Elder Sister, yet you still do not join Us to face that Chiyou wench.” A small grin flickered across Xuanyuan’s lips.
“Elder Sister is not unaware that the floods have harmed millions of the Northern Primordial’s citizens. The Heavenly Decree Palace of the Northern Continent’s Zhu Kingdom eyes the Northern Primordial covetously. We are plagued with trouble both internal and external. This really is not the time for internecine strife.” Yu The Great softly said.
Xuanyuan and Chiyou had fought hundreds of bouts at Zhuolu. Xuanyuan’s side had Cang Jie, Da Hong, Feng Hou, Li Mu, Chang Xian, Ying Long, and other powerful High Ancient Realm Divine Name subordinates, but Chiyou cultivated a “Nine Li Dragon-slaughtering Art” that was able to split herself into a multitude of copies. These copies received the blood of the Immemorial Royal Family, and each were as powerful as the original Chiyou. The other tribes did not wish to offend her.
“Hmph, We feel that the flooding of the Northern Primordial is a sign we are to conquer Zhuolu.” Xuanyuan said: “The Northern Primordial has been fractured for too long. The heavenly way cannot stand for this to continue, and only by unifying Zhuolu can the floods be calmed.”
“Elder Sister is mistaken. Wenming has already investigated the cause of the floods. That Wenming has invited everyone to this conference pertains to calming the floods. Otherwise, the consequences for the Northern Primrodial would be too horrible to contemplate. They are beyond even your imagination, Elder Sister Xuanyuan.” Yu The Great said.
“Oh?”
Xuanyuan’s curiosity was piqued, and she furrowed her brow.
“Is this man a guest of the Ji Tribe?” Xuanyuan’s gaze shifted back to Qi Lin again.
To be frank, when Yu The Great appeared, Qi Lin was already noticed. In Primordial World, Divine Names were honored; those able to receive the admiration of a Divine Name were as rare as phoenix feathers. Yu The Great was known as the king of one of the Northern Primordial’s Three Great Tribes, and to be able to receive her recognition was even more shocking.
“Your Servant is Qi Lin. This is my little sister, Qi Qi.” The Yellow Emperor was known as the ancestor of ancient China. Although she merely succeeded the Divine Name, as an archaeologist, Qi Lin’s heart could not help but feel reverence for Xuanyuan.
“This name is quite imposing.” Xuanyuan faintly nodded.
That a Primordial Infant cultivator could face her divine might without kneeling or becoming flustered was very impressive.
“This is Wenming’s elder brother. We became acquainted during our attempts to control the floods in the Northern Primordial. It was all thanks to Elder Brother that the cause of these floods was ascertained.” Yu The Great’s tone when introducing him was especially gentle, making the other tribe heads very astonished.
“Oh, this means the rumor is true? You, the grand king of the Ji, actually recognized a man as a brother?” Xuanyuan showed disdain.
“Oh, yes, Yu The Great, this act is too disgraceful to the face of the Great Shaman Divine Names.”
“How could you recognize a Primordial Infant cultivator as a brother, this is truly asking for trouble.”
“Yu The Great, has your mind become addled whilst controlling the floods.”
The other heads shouted in succession, showing discontent with this matter.
“Elder Brother Qi Lin saved Wenming’s life, and he was willing to help control the floods in the Northern Primordial. Calling him Elder Brother is only natural.” Yu The Great faintly grinned at Qi Lin.
“Hm? This Primordial Infant cultivator saved you?”
Everyone was even more shocked now, completely not daring to believe that Yu The Great would need saving, but they were also very aware that Yu The Great was honest and would never lie for a man. A Primordial Infant cultivator able to save Yu The Great…Everyone’s gazes naturally fell on Qi Qi, the girl beside Qi Lin.
Only a Divine Name with an Invested Deity Emissary had the qualifications.
Everyone present understood. The Northern Primordial respected strength, and since he was able to save Yu The Great’s life, let alone a Primordial Infant cultivator, even an actual infant could receive their respect. Thus, their attitudes towards Qi Lin also markedly improved. The Yellow Emperor asked Qi Lin how he learned of the information pertaining to controlling the floods. Yu The Great responded that they should wait for Chiyou before beginning the conference.
Qi Lin and these tribal heads chatted a while, and they more or less understood the situation.
While everyone was chatting, a heavy aura suddenly bore down on everyone present. Everyone’s voices stopped abruptly. A crowd of men and women walked up Mount Tu. The leading woman had bronze skin, a slender figure, disheveled black hair tied up in many braids. She wore a patterned, high-slit long skirt and fur long boots that were like bear legs.
Her gaze gave Qi Lin a kind of very odd feeling – empty, hollow, and arrogant.
“Is that Chiyou?”
“The leader of the Li Tribe truly is giving us face, to have made us wait for you so long.” Xuanyuanshi’s jade-like finger gently supported her chin while she looked down on the entourage. Pausing, she then sneered. “You make us wait for so long all for a projection of the God Of War.”
“My master has been preoccupied most recently and is unable to come forth. I hope the kings present can understand. This projection also represents the will and power of my master.” The man beside Chiyou faintly grinned, his attitude modest.
Northern Primordial men were mostly of tough and stocky builds, yet this man had a kind of grace that was as supple as jade. He held a fan and wore pure white clothes and a crown. His gait was bold and confident, very clearly demonstrating he was not of Northern Primordial blood.
“You, Gongyang Tu, are also the favorite of Chiyou. Since you are here, we may proceed with the conference of Mount Tu’s lords. Chiyou, evil Shaman Clan that she is, should not defile Emperor Yao’s grounds.” Xuanyuanshi was blunt.
“Xuanyuanshi, do not flaunt your power through your words. Next we battle at Zhuolu, This Lord will have you begging for mercy.” “Chiyou” shouted.
“That is for the best. We also tire of dealing with you.” Xuanyuan the Yellow Emperor cast her a sidelong glance.
“Elder Sister Xuanyuan, Little Sister Chiyou, please cease hostilities for now.” Yu The Great stepped forward and suppressed their killing intents. If not for Mount Tu being the holy grounds of the Northern Primordial, perhaps these two queen would fight until the sun went down.
“Hmph, Yu The Great, This Lord heard you recently recognized a male cultivator as your brother. How is he, This Lord wonders how he compares to This Lord’s pet.” Chiyou sat on her seat. The Li Tribe’s warriors also sat down, whereupon Qi Lin took note they were all bronze-skinned, appearing quite powerful.
The moment she spoke, everyone could not help but erupt into laughter.
“Pet?” Qi Lin frowned.
“She means Sir Gongyang.” Xian Zhen whispered.
Chiyou’s natural disposition was extremely domineering, annexing the Yang River Tribe with swift and decisive action, and executing rebels who did not submit. The pet she referred to was Gongyang Tu. Ever since this man appeared in the Li Tribe, he helped her with plans, stirred up trouble, and made up for the aspect that Chiyou’s barbaric methods were deficient in – wisdom.
“None other than Your Servant.” Gongyang Tu bowed like a young lord, showing no embarrassment. “I am the pet of my lord, a creature under Heaven, a subject of ridicule.”
Qi Lin went, “Oh.” He slightly grinned, thinking inwardly that this man was a bit unfathomable.

God… THESE EGOS!!!!!
They’re supposed to be kings/chieftains, so arrogance and pride only come naturally to them.
Doesn’t make it less insufferable
