Zhuolu, Li.
Chiyou’s camp.
Chiyou sat upright on a scarlet beast chair. She perused the reports in her hand while Gongyang Tu stood ramrod straight behind her, his hands in his sleeves.
“These are all information that the specters gathered. Some time ago, Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan personally paid a visit to Yu The Great. The specific details of their conversation are unknown, but in the end, she apparently left on bad terms.”
The woman said nothing. She put the report down, her crimson pupils pensive.
As the strongest as well as only opponent they had in Zhuolu, the Li army had always monitored Xuanyuan’s every movement and action. The information from the specters was impeccable, and they were able to gather significant amounts of information. In war, military intelligence was clearly very paramount; she who knows herself and her enemy will never lose even a hundred battles.
If the Jiang and Ji were to form an alliance, this would be a very significant blow to Chiyou’s army.
“Did she visit Yu The Great for the purpose of an alliance?” Chiyou muttered.
Gongyang Tu shook his head: “Impossible. Given Xuanyuanshi’s prideful personality, she absolutely would not deign to go to an enemy camp to persuade Yu The Great for aid. Since she issued the proclamation for the Feng And Shan Ceremony at Yellow Mountain, to request aid would undermine her status even further.”
“Hm?”
Gongyang Tu knowingly smiled: “After learning this, I specially dispatched specters to investigate any recent anomalies at the Jiang River Tribe. As expected, there is a situation.”
“Speak.”
“Prior to this, a Divine Name known as Yu Shiqie fled the Ji Tribe and sought refuge with the Yellow Emperor’s Jiang Tribe. It was only after this that the Yellow Emperor sought out Yu The Great.”
“That Yu Shiqie Divine Name is insignificant. I dispatched people to intercept her, and after a bit of intimidation, she revealed the reason.1 My lord, you definitely would never imagine how marvelous the inside details are. This Tu has been in the Northern Primordial for a century and has never seen the like all my life.”
Chiyou showed impatience. Gongyang Tu knew she was not fond of suspense and thus said: “It turns out that Qi Lin cultivator’s Divine General is Sun Wukong. When he previously ventured to the Cloud Dream Pond to seek out Bai Ze, he rescued Yu Shiqie. Afterwards, he obtained from Bai Ze the information to exterminate the Demons…Subsequently, with the announcement of Xuanyuan’s coronation as the Yellow Emperor, Yu Shiqie sought refuge and revealed to Xuanyuanshi that Bai Ze was staying with the Ji Tribe.”
“Bai Ze is at the Ji Tribe?”
All of a sudden, a young voice echoed through the camp.
A little girl strode in like a shooting star. Gongyang Tu hastily bowed while the Chiyou projection also rose from her throne.
“Gongyang has offended you, to have disturbed my lord’s cultivation of the Dragon-slaughter skill.”
“Go on.” The girl spat.
Gongyang Tu accelerated his speech. He recounted the entire affair without leaving out a single detail, from Yu Shiqie, Bai Ze, Gongyang Tu, and even to rumors of the Divine Cauldron and flood control.
“This Qi Lin is honestly of unknown background, yet he is truly formidable. Not only did he find Bai Ze, he even rescued her. Even at this moment, he surprisingly thought to seek out the secret to the Divine Cauldron that Emperor Yao left behind and cast the Earlier Heaven magic treasure.”
In the camp, a Divine Name showed an impressed expression.
Gongyang Tu was very displeased to hear this, but he had no choice but to admit that Qi Lin’s conduct and actions left him feeling shamed of his inferiority.”
When a Divine Name on the level of Bai Ze, who knew Heaven, Earth, and all creatures, could be saved by him, his luck with women was honestly astonishing.
“How could an Earlier Heaven magic treasure be casted so highly. This is nothing more than the sleeptalk of fools. Besides, Emperor Yao has already been dead for ten thousand years. If she had any secrets, they would have already been discovered. It is not his place to find them.” Gongyang Tu was not very convinced.
“Tu, you are incorrect.”
The little Chiyou said softly.
Gongyang Tu nervously broke into a cold sweat. He lowered his head, unsure where he was incorrect.
“You envy him because he is more outstanding than you.”
“Does my lord truly feel he is more outstanding than I? Qi Lin is merely God Transformation Realm. Without his Divine General, I could kill him as easily as turning over my palm.”
“Well, then, This Lord will give you a chance to prove that.” The little Chiyou said nonchalantly.
“Your orders, my lord.” Gongyang Tu knelt down.
“Qi Lin wants to find the secret of Emperor Yao’s Divine Cauldron. This Lord believes he is likely capable of finding it, so This Lord shall give you a mission. You are to go contest him and seize for This Lord the secret of Emperor Yao’s Divine Cauldron.”
“Tu will definitely not disgrace my lord’s order, but that Qi Lin has the Divine General Sun Wukong…” Gongyang Tu was very afraid of this monkey; killing the Divine Beast Fuzhu was likely this monkey’s feat.
“This Lord will grant you a projection to accompany you.”
“Many thanks for the favor, my lord.” Gongyang Tu was delighted. To have been granted one of her projections for his use was undoubtedly a display of extreme trust in him. Having served Chiyou for so long, this was the first time he was able to receive one.
Little Chiyou flatly said: “Should you fail, This Lord has no desire to listen to your sour language any longer. Cut off your own head in atonement.”
Gongyang Tu’s expression slightly changed, “If Tu fails, I would have no more face with which to see my lord.”
“In light of your loyalty in following This Lord, This Lord shall confer upon you another magic treasure.” Little Chiyou appeared indifferent, but she was still quite gentle. She handed Gongyang Tu a banner that emitted crimson qi.
This was the “Chiyou Banner,” and it could be said to be an important treasure of the Li Army. In several clashes with the Yellow Emperor at Zhuolu, the Chiyou Banner had been crucial.
“But how will you face the Yellow Emperor’s army without the Chiyou Banner.” A subordinate was worried.
“She is holding the Feng And Shan Sacrifices, so a few days will be fine. Tu, do not fail to find this Divine Cauldron.”
Little Chiyou’s words nearly moved Gongyang Tu to tears.
“Tu faithfully obeys my lord.”
Pausing, Gongyang Tu said with self-confidence: “Tu will surely take and present Qi Lin’s head.”
Little Chiyou was very indifferent and did not answer.
“My lord, then what should be done about Bai Ze? Shall we dispatch someone to retrieve her from the Ji Tribe?” A subordinate asked. “If we let the Yellow Emperor obtain Bai Ze, we will be no match for her.”
“If the Yellow Emperor could not move her, neither can we.” Little Chiyou was apathetic.
“As you command.”
“Go, then. Prepare well.”
Little Chiyou commanded.
Gongyang Tu bowed over and over in thanks before finally departing from the camp.
As she watched the back of this man that had served her for centuries, Little Chiyou’s indifferent eyes suddenly fell a bit quiet.
…
Mount Tu.
After the lords dispersed, there was no one left on top of the mountain. The deathly silence was suffocating, and even the sounds of birds and insects were absent.
On this day, early morning.
Several figures entered Mount Tu. In the lead was a man with delicate features. He could not be described as being particularly handsome, but his eyes were very deep and mysterious. Beside him were three female companions. Two of them were budding young girls while the last was a gentle and wise woman, calm and relaxed.
At first mist, Mount Tu was silent.
“Brother, we’ve been looking for two days. We haven’t even seen a tomb, a cave or anything like those. Maybe it’s not here?” One of the girls yawned and rubbed her eyes.
The party was none other than Qi Lin, Qi Qi, Nezha, and Moon Mother Changxi.
“Yes, aren’t we looking in the wrong place. We’ve almost searched the entire area.”
Nezha was a bit bored. Ever since they found a clue to Emperor Yao’s Divine Cauldron, Yu The Great had dispatched people to search around Zhuolu. Qi Lin’s group had been looking around Mount Tu all this time, but after a few days, they did not see anything connected to the Divine Cauldron. While they had seen many an abandoned ruin, it was all to no avail.
“It should be at Mount Tu.” Given Qi Lin’s archaeological experience, Mount Tu was the best place to hide secrets.
On the side, Changxi wiped Qi Lin’s sweat: “Lord Husband, the sun is setting, let us descend the mountain.” Due to the curse of Mount Tu, everyone had descended the mountain before dark for the past few days.
“Changxi, you and Nezha go first. I’m staying behind.” Qi Lin had a new idea.
“You couldn’t find it in the morning, Qi Lin. You can’t be thinking that you can find it at night.” Nezha harrumphed.
“Can’t know unless you try.” Qi Lin recalled the aurora phenomenon after night fell at Mount Tu. Perhaps there was some mystery hidden inside.
“But I heard that Divine Names who stay the night have all met with misfortune.”
“If you’re scared, come into my arms, I’ll keep you safe.” Qi Lin joked.
Nezha looked at Qi Qi: “Sun Wukong, don’t you wanna beat a pervert big brother like this to death?”
“Ha, ha.”
