The shuffling of feet echoed through the quiet space of the corridor. A line of people followed behind Qi Lin, stopping and going, including military advisor to the Li Tribe, Gongyang Tu, previously the most famous man in the Northern Primordial. Also, there was Her Highness Nüba, princess of the Hong Tribe.

In the Northern Primordial, they occupied outstanding positions, and other people would have no choice but to behave deferentially upon seeing them. However, at this moment, they were like a crowd of students following behind Qi Lin. When he stopped, they stopped. When he moved, only then did they dare to step forward.

The bottom of Gongyang Tu’s heart was truly filled with extreme displeasure, but there was no other choice.

This Qi Lin said he had already solved Emperor Yao’s clue, that he had found the map of the so-called mystery. Gongyang Tu believed himself to be very bright, making considerable contributions in the Li Tribe’s annexations of other tribes, but he never thought that the jumbled mess of scratches on the wall would be related to leaving the labyrinth.

“This is nothing more than a deathbed struggle.” Gongyang Tu thought to himself.

Qi Lin focused on the labyrinth. He shut his eyes, not using his Divine Intent. Instead, he completely relied on his mental “map” to proceed.

Emperor Yao had etched the escape route to the Heavenly Evolving Corridor onto the wall. The eight palaces and sixteen walls together were a complete depiction of the labyrinth’s changes. Once the complete map was assembled, a route through the Heavenly Evolving Corridor would be illuminated. But just knowing the map’s depiction was useless. Inside the magic treasure, the paths of the corridors changed all the time.

The path in front could be a straight line one moment, but in the next, that line would slightly change into a spiral. To completely grasp the patterns to the labyrinth’s changes, Qi Lin still needed the crucial key. Still, this posed no challenge to him.

The Thirty-six Heavenly Spirits and Seventy-two Earthly Fiends were based on the stars in the heavens. Qi Lin needed only to find the pattern to the changes in these stars to be able to assemble the map, and he had also previously researched Purple Star Astrology quite thoroughly.

After a while, Qi Lin stopped.

Everyone also came to a halt.

Qi Lin had already completely unraveled the heavenly mystery map in his mind. With the stars as points, the 108 stars were linked in succession. Finally, he combined them with the eight maps together into one, and a vast star map appeared in his mind.

“The Earthly Leader Star is number thirty-seven. Thirty-seven seconds is the limit…One, two, three…”

Counting off thirty-seven seconds, only when this corridor shifted to the “Earthly Leader Star” in front of him did he step forward.

“The Heavenly Skilful Star is thirty-six. Time is on the right.”

Qi Lin walked forward thirty-six paces and turned right.

There was a thick and towering wall, no exit at all.

“One, two…”

Qi Lin continued to count.

“What is with his odd behavior?” Gongyang Tu could not make sense of this.

“This seems to be…Purple Star Astrology?” Nüba had luckily heard and knew some things from the Yellow Emperor. Qi Lin’s chanting seemed to be the Purple Star Astrology that shook Primordial World tens of thousands of years ago.

“Purple Star Astrology?” Gongyang Tu had also heard about this. He was stunned, saying in disbelief: “Impossible, is that not the power of the Heavenly Spirits’ and Earthly Fiends’ Purple Star God?”1

It was said that the stars of Primordial World were the thoughts of the heavenly way, and that the Purple Star Astrology Chant was cultivated using the will of the heavenly way. Practiced to its highest level, it melded into one with the heavenly way, surpassing even the sages. This power was originally created by a cultivator, but information regarding him was restricted in Primordial World, shrouded in more mystery than even the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court. Not even the sages were willing to mention him. All that was left now were some tall tales, and some people had even forgotten that such a cultivator had ever existed in Primordial World.

“But at the same time, it does not seem to be.” The Purple Star Astrology Chant that she remembered cultivated the Divine Energy of Primordial World’s stars, and QI Lin’s body did not have this aura at all.

“Of course that is impossible.” Gongyang Tu sneered, unwilling to believe: “It is said that the Divine Name of the Purple Star God is forbidden in Primordial World, that it must be slaughtered should it ever be reborn. The sages of the heavenly way do not even dare to think about it. How could he ahve cultivated it.”

Nüba nodded.

If Qi Lin truly had the Purple Star Astrology Chant, he could not possibly display it either.

“Thirty-six.”

Qi Lin completed his county of thirty-six, and afterward, something curious happened. This wall in front of them inconceivably disappeared. Then, a new corridor unfolded before them.

“What??”

Everyone was dumbfounded.

They used Divine Intent to sweep through it; this place should not have had an exit at all.

“Oh, Qi Lin, you really are amazing. How did you figure this one out.” Nezha blinked.

Seeing this exit appear, Qi Lin became even more confident. He continued to advance with Gongyang Tu and Nüba following closely behind, keeping silent all the way.

“Thirty-five, Heavenly Crying Star.”

“Thirty-four, Heavenly Savage Star.”

Qi Lin used the map formed from the combination of changes to the numbers of the Heavenly Spirits and Earthly Fiends with the nine other parts to very smoothly navigate the labyrinth unobstructed.

In the eyes of the other, they had never seen anything so unbelievable.

The winding corridors suddenly became a straight path.

The straight path then disappeared at the next intersection.

A new exit appeared at the dead end.

The further they went, the faster Qi Lin’s pace became and the faster the labyrinth changed. Some people were even too slow and ended up killed by the labyrinth’s transformation without any room for resistance.

Very quickly, Qi Lin took one final step.

Heavenly Strength Star.

The Heavenly Strength Star was both a long and narrow corridor, appearing very oppressive. There were no other branching paths in the surroundings, and the moment he set foot into the Heavenly Strength Star corridor, a heavy pressure even more terrifying than Mount Buzhou pressed down on his shoulder. Qi Lin’s shoulder sank, and he used the Dual Modes Lightness and Heaviness to dispel the weight. “Changxi, enter my Divine Womb.” Qi Lin immediately said.

Changxi did not hesitate. Her Divine Crest flashed, and her figure overlapped with Qi Lin’s and vanished.

“Nezha, Qi Qi, be careful.” Qi Lin exhorted. This Heavenly Strength Star Corridor was clearly different from the ones before.

“How am I so heavy.”

“Why did my shoulder break.”

Cries of pain came from behind. Several weaker cultivators and warriors were unable to resist the pressure and consequently screamed.

Heavenly Strength Star, one second!

After Qi Lin’s mental recitation, without warning, the corridor behind began to collapse layer by layer. Two injured warriors were caught in the collapse and screamed. Even their Primordial Spirits had been destroyed.

Everyone’s expressions changed.

“Let’s hurry and get out of here!” Qi Lin used the Heavenly Vertical Earthly Horizontal Escape. He tapped the ground with the tip of his foot, and with a whoosh, was already a hundred meters away.

“Hm?” Gongyang Tu was a bit astonished to witness Qi Lin’s escape technique. He had never seen the like, very indistinct as it was. It was like heaven and earth had flit by under Qi Lin’s feet. This stirred an even stronger desire to kill Qi Lin in Gongyang Tu, “Hm, this man’s escape technique is very extraordinary. Perhaps it is comparable to an Earlier Heaven-level escape technique. Kill him, and we will be able to rest easy.”

Thinking this to himself, Gongyang Tu also used his own escape technique to fly forth.

The others accelerated towards the exit of the Heavenly Strength corridor. Behind them, the passage collapsed bit by bit, faster and faster. Many warriors were caught in the crumbling space, their screams rising and falling in succession. In the blink of an eye, half of the cultivators and warriors that Nüba and Gongyang Tu had brought were dead or wounded, but Nüba did not have the time to pay attention to them.

Feng Hou used her ability, “Wind Passes Blue Sea.” A cool breeze surrounded Nüba’s body, hastening her speed even further.

One second.

Never before had it felt so long.

At last, Qi Lin stepped through the exit. He reached out and pulled Qi Qi and Nezha through as well.

Feng Hou, Nüba, Gongyang Tu, and the four in black armor arrived soon after.

Several Void Return Five Elements cultivators barely managed to burst out from the exit while several God Transformation cultivators struggled in their death throes, for the Heavenly Strength corridor’s powerful pressure had suppressed their magical energy.

“My lord, save me.”

“Lord Gongyang Tu, save me.”

“Princess Highness.”

Several cultivators behind them made heart-rending pleas.

Nüba and Gongyang Tu were expressionless. They stared at the crumbling space as it completely swallowed its unfortunate victims. Then, the space sealed, becoming a thick wall.

“You really are heartless.”

Qi Lin said.

“You can go save them if you have a heart.” Gongyang Tu spurned that so-called “camaraderie.”

“Benevolent endings are found only on epitaphs.” Nüba was helpless. “This Palace would like to save them, but that is not possible.”

“To think Emperor Yao would surprisingly place such traps.” Gongyang Tu sneered: “Her benevolence seems to be nothing special.”

“Emperor Yao is the most venerable of the Five Emperors. Benevolence without a bottom line is nothing but a kind of cowardice.” Feng Hou disagreed. “Our intrusion into Emperor Yao’s divine palace has already provoked her divine might. Our destruction would only be natural.”

Gongyang Tu pursed his lips, not wanting criticize her beliefs. He knew of the glory of “Yao and Shun,” so debating this was senseless.

“However, This Palace honestly must thank Young Lord Qilin. You actually were able to solve the mystery of the Heavenly Evolving Corridor. After we return, This Palace will certainly sing praises of you to mother.” Nüba smiled.

Exiting the Heavenly Evolving Corridor, they arrived at circular hall. The hall was extremely large, spanning several hundred square meters.

At the center of the circular hall was the gold sculpture of a woman looking down. Her eyes were so bright, outshining even the sun and moon, full of benevolence. Her left hand held an upright box while her right reached out as if in a gesture of mercy.

Even if this was a gold sculpture, it had an indescribable aura of might.

“Emperor Yao!!”

All of the Northern Primordial’s people knelt at once upon seeing this statue, devoutly saluting.

Nüba was unwilling, but upon seeing this statue, she still lowered her head in submission.

“So this is Yao.”

Qi Lin said under his breath as he stared at this statue.

The statue of the woman was graceful beyond compare, allowing them to glimpse the divine might of Emperor Yao from back then. However, Qi Lin noticed something a bit strange about the statue.

“Does Emperor Yao have a third eye?” Qi Lin asked.

“Of course not.”

“She’s not some perverted voyeur like Erlang Shen.” Nezha said.

Everyone was confused as to why Qi Lin would suddenly ask this.

Qi Lin pointed at the statue’s forehead, which had a small crack. From the shape, it indeed was very much like a closed third eye.

Eight platforms were in the surroundings, and each surprisingly had a differently shaped cauldron.

“So these are the so-called Earlier Heaven magic treasures, Emperor Yao’s Divine Cauldron?” Gongyang Tu was taken aback.

“Should be.”

Nüba said. The closer they got to the Divine Cauldron, the greater the pressure. It was obvious that even High Ancient Divine Realm could be easily suppressed.

A certain power emanated from the eight cauldrons and pressed down on the entire palace, which also suppressed everyone’s magical energy. Inside the divine cauldrons were pills, gold, silver, divine sand and various other treasures.

The eyes of the surviving Void Return cultivators gleamed. They had risked life and limb coming to Mount Tu for the sake of the treasures that Emperor Yao had left behind.

    1. I’m really hoping that this story doesn’t connect to 108 MOD in any way…Though Star Generals were referenced once or twice without any elaboration, I don’t know if they’re the same kind.
