One Void Return cultivator had only just entered the circular hall when he dashed towards the nearest bronze cauldron, but as soon as he stepped near, his body suddenly tumbled. A pressure more terrifying than before enveloped the entire hall.
Qi Lin apparently foresaw this and remained unmoved. “This Divine Cauldron is the reason why our magical energy is being suppressed. This circular hall must be even more formidable.”
“Seems this truly is an Earlier Heaven magic treasure, to think it actually can exert such powerful pressure.” Gongyang Tu’s expression slightly changed.
“What should we do?” Nüba asked.
This question stumped him. If this was a mechanism with a mystery, Qi Lin may have been able to think of a solution, but it was very clear that this was not a mechanism at all. It was purely the magic treasure’s suppression. Seeing that Qi Lin was also without a solution, Nüba directly used some of her most favorite brute strength methods.
“Break the forbiddance, and we will haul the Divine Cauldron out.”
Nüba and Feng Hou immediately moved towards two of the large cauldrons.
Nezha and Qi Qi also followed along and flew in front of two of the Divine Cauldrons. When they entered the circular hall, the pressure magnified. The girls circulated their Divine Energy to resist the pressure. Fortunately, the pressure that these Divine Cauldrons produced was limited to this. It completely lacked the formidable might of an Earlier Heaven magic treasure, so they were still able to respond.
Qi Lin was not worried. He stopped in front of Emperor Yao’s divine image.
The image’s expression was serene and benevolent, filled with a mercy that bemoaned the tragedies of the world. Those eyes were so lifelike, it was like the real Emperor Yao was staring at him. Qi Lin felt that something was a bit off. According to his earlier conjecture, Emperor Yao’s mystery was left for future successors. In that case, after the successor passed the Heavenly Evolving Corridor, what would she do then?
Refine the nine cauldrons?
Qi Lin vaguely sensed that this image was trying to tell him something.
Qi Lin was unable to figure it out and stopped thinking about it for the time being. There was little time left, so he also stood in front of one of the Divine Cauldrons. This Divine Cauldron was shaped a bit like the Prince Wu Cauldron from China’s ancient Chu Kingdom. It had three hoof-shaped legs, and it had two outward-facing rectangular handles along the rim. Six dragon-shaped beasts crawled along the sides while the belly was covered in coiled dragons and intricate patterns.
The inside of the lid was covered in complex inscriptions, however, Qi Lin did not recognize the script. He could not make sense of them, but this cauldron’s construction was very elegant.
The inside of the Divine Cauldron was filled with a pile of sand. This sand had underwent ten thousand years without changing, and it emitted a chilling radiance. This was Primordial World’s famous Divine Sand. Divine Sand was generally used for crafting and cultivation. It was a very precious material, and it was very rare to see this much in a place like the Divine Cauldrons.
Qi Lin pinned the pressure as he drew near the Divine Cauldron. Immediately, he sensed the pressure grow even stronger. An invisible wall resisted his approach, and Qi Lin used the “Dual Modes” to begin dispelling the forbiddance.
His “Dual Modes ability” was fused perfectly with the Four Yins And Four Yangs, and he was very easily able to break the forbiddance. Although the Divine Cauldron’s barrier was very powerful, in the end, it was an incomplete article not yet at Earlier Heaven. The Divine Cauldron had also stood guard in this divine palace for ten thousand years. No matter how powerful a magic treasure it was, its magical energy would weaken.
Gongyang Tu was shocked to see Qi Lin dispel the forbiddance so easily. He glanced at a few subordinates.
Two Void Return cultivators then knowingly attacked Qi Lin. They shouted: “This Divine Cauldron ought to be left to our ‘Li.'” Saying this, the pair wasted no time and activated their magic treasures.
Two copper spears flew forth. These copper spears whistled through the air, splitting open layer after layer of air, carrying an aura of Divine Energy.
The Li Tribe’s Chiyou was known as an ancient god of war. She was naturally talented in crafting divine weapons and tools out of copper. Each weapon was keener and sharper than even the most formidable magic treasure. Qi Lin saw the approaching copper spear and acted with composure. He pointed his fingertip, forming the Dual Modes Birth And Destruction with his palms, catching the two copper spears. He then pointed, and the two copper spears surprisingly peeled away layer by layer, disintegrating. “Did you two intend to harm Your Servant?” Qi Lin sneered as he asked with equanimity.
The two cultivators were shocked. They had thought that taking down a God Transformation cultivator would be a walk in the park, but they never imagined Qi Lin would be very easy. It was surprising that an ability was able to destroy the magic treasures. Their Divine Intents suffered damage, and they were inwardly infuriated even more.
“Tier Seven Ability: Fire Lotus Life And Death Brand!”
“Tier Seven Ability: Inextinguishable Conflagration!”
They roared furiously, and their anger surged. The duo used Tier Seven abilities, and all of their magical energy seemed to ignite, brimming with unimaginable explosive power. Void Return cultivators refined the power of the Five Elements into their magical energy, which was able to magnify the power of their magical energy even further. Each of the Five Elements of Primordial World had a distinct trait, and among them, “fire” was explosive in power. Void Return cultivators who cultivated the fire element could suddenly detonate their magical energy when they attacked, increasing their power by several times. The slightest mistake could lead to killing the enemy.
The Fire Lotus Life And Death Brand manifested an enormous lotus of flame that erupted suddenly from beneath Qi Lin’s feet. Layers of flame immediately blossomed, and even the divine palace’s ground surprisingly split apart and blasted under this explosive force.
Inextinguishable Conflagration was also incomparably powerful. That red cloud of flaming qi rolled, pouncing fiercely like a beast.
Inextinguishable Conflagration dropped the heavens while the Fire Lotus Life And Death Brand emerged from the ground. Top and bottom intertwined, their coordination extremely practiced. It was clear that this was not the first time they had done this. The two powerful abilities completely devoured Qi Lin’s figure, and the duo sneered.
This “Heaven And Earth Explosion” possessed incredible power, and they would not need to fear a Void Return cultivator a full level higher, let alone a God Transformation cultivator. Even if they had a contract, they would be severely injured.
The flame-like lotus burned.
But a bright light shot out from the inside of the flames, extinguishing the flames like a flood.
Qi Lin emerged intact. His body gained the clear radiance of a shining moon, rendering the Tier Seven ability surprisingly useless. Changxi had granted Qi Lin “Bathe Nine Moons, Cleanse The Heavens.” How could the Yin moonlight be incinerated by Tier Seven fire.
“Impossible.”
The duo were overwhelmed with shock.
“Since you are intent on killing Your Servant here, don’t blame me for showing no mercy.” Qi Lin already knew that Gongyang Tu harbored ill intentions. Seeing them make their move, he did not have any intention of being kind. His wrist produced the Blood Transformation Divine Blade.
When the Blood Transformation Divine Blade appeared, its baleful aura immediately surged.
“The Blood Transformation Divine Blade!!”
The color drained from the cultivators’ faces when they recognized this Approaching Heaven magic treasure.
Qi Lin grasped the sword. Without another word, he raised the blade and swung, its edge drawing a fleeting rainbow arc.
One cultivator activated everything he had, including his abilities and magic treasures.
“Flame Immortal Spell.”
“Devil Copper Sword!”
A ring of flame ignited on his body, forming layers of protective barriers that were completely impenetrable. His Flame Immortal Spell was a Tier Seven ability that gathered the power of the fire element onto his entire body. In an instant, immense destructive force emerged that repelled all attacks.
After using the Flame Immortal Spell, he also brandished a magic treasure, the Devil Copper Sword. The magic treasure increased in size to several zhang in length, red-hot as a brand as it emitted a sizzling sound on its way towards Qi Lin.
The Blood Transformation Divine Blade sliced apart the flames and split the Devil Copper Sword in two as easily as if it was paper. The Divine Blade’s evil aura killed all that it touched, and a Void Return cultivator was no exception. After being tainted by the Blood Transformation Divine Blade’s qi, his body was immediately corroded by the qi. He struggled with all his might, but death was inevitable.
The cultivator’s Primordial Spirit was instantly refined by the Blood Transformation Divine Blade.
“Ah.”
Before anyone else could react, his companion threw out “Lotus In Fire.” Several plate-sized flame lotuses hurtled towards Qi Lin.
Qi Lin used the Nine Fingers Of Hell, and demonic finger-shadows immediately poked apart the lotus flowers.
This Void Return cultivator did not expect that Qi Lin’s Realm would actually have reached such a level. To destroy his Void Return cultivation ability with just God Transformation cultivation, he knew that this Emissary was unfathomable. Not daring to provoke Qi Lin further, he turned around and fled towards Gongyang Tu.
“My lord, save me.”
The Blood Transformation Divine Blade followed Qi Lin’s will, and its power gushed as it slashed at the cultivator.
A cold gleam flit across the eyes of Gongyang Tu, who had been refining the forbiddance on a Divine Cauldron. He drew a long saber and slashed at the Blood Transformation Divine Blade.
The swords clashed.
The bloody and baleful blade-light instantly intertwined with ice-cold saber-qi.
“Hm?” Qi Lin was astonished to find his Blood Transformation Divine Blade was actually stopped.
Having escaped calamity, the Void Return cultivator was about to breathe a sigh of relief and give thanks Gongyang Tu when he suddenly felt stifled. A tyrannical power hurtled down from right in front of him, and before he could react, Qi Qi had already bludgeoned his head, killing even his Primordial Spirit on the spot.
Gongyang Tu recalled the long saber, stood straight, and raised his brow. He watched as his subordinate was beaten to death, yet he remained aloof.
Qi Lin also stowed the Blood Transformation Divine Blade. He could not help but be even more alert of the man standing in front of him.
“Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin, you truly are capable. To think you even are in possession of the Approaching Heaven magic treasure, Blood Transformation Divine Blade, it seems you have killed many on your journey. Can it be your flood controls are to atone for your heavy sins?” Gongyang Tu sinisterly said.
Qi Qi bared her fangs, for she was very angry from listening his mockery. Just as she was about to attack again, Gongyang Tu immediately took a step back in fright. This Great Sage Sun was a bit terrifying.
“Qi Qi, stop.” Qi Lin called her back. “Mister Gongyang, this saber of yours is also extraordinary, for it’s actually capable of stopping the Blood Transformation Divine Blade.”
“Of course, that is the Chiyou Saber.” Nüba smiled as she walked over.
“Chiyou Saber?”
“Chiyou is an expert in weapon forging. The sabers, swords, and staffs bearing her name are very powerful Later Heaven magic treasures, and when combined with the ‘Chiyou Martial Chant’ that she passes on, its power is sufficient to allow a cultivator to bridge a power gap of even several Realms.” Nüba captivatingly said, as if she intended to inform Qi Lin some of Gongyang Tu’s particular details.
Gongyang Tu knew she was being deliberate and could not easily lash out at her. He merely sneered. “Princess Highness, you have investigated very clearly, to even know about the Chiyou Martial Chant.”
“The Chiyou Martial Chant is a top-notch ability. Only one who has received the blood of Chiyou will be able to cultivate it. As the greatest enemy of Mother, This Palace is indeed a bit familiar with some of Chiyou’s matters.”
“Mister Gongyang, you have poured your blood and sweat out for the Li tribe for a hundred years. Presumably, it would be very normal to receive the recognition of Chiyou’s blood.”
“Hmph, Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin killed my subordinates. Are you looking down on my lord?”
“Brother Gongyang ought to be glad that I am helping you root out a few scourges. It is difficult to guarantee that a subordinate who would kill for treasure will not betray Chiyou for personal gain.” Qi Lin answered uprighteously.
Gongyang Tu sneered: “Is This Tu supposed to thank you?”
“No need to thank me, it was nothing.”
“Young Lord Qi Lin’s words are reasonable. This time, it was indeed your Li tribe that was in the wrong. This Palace had but witnessed them strike the first blow…It was thanks to Young Lord Qi Lin that we were able to enter Emperor Yao’s divine palace. We owe him a great debt of gratitude, yet your subordinates were so hostile. Even This Palace wanted to kill them.” Nüba said.
Gongyang Tu knew he was in the wrong and remained silent.
At this time, Qi Lin looked around the hall. Everyone had stopped their refinement of the Divine Cauldrons. Only when he asked them did he learn that this forbiddance was too powerful. To dispel it would require boundless magical energy, and theirs was already being suppressed. To refine it any further was honestly too taxing. Seeing Qi Lin battle the Li Tribe, they stopped what they were doing to think of another solution.
