“Chiyou is actually using her body to cast the ninth cauldron. She truly is worthy of being called the Northern Primordial’s genius. She was surprisingly able to grasp the mystery of the Divine Cauldrons.”
On the way back, Qi Lin thought back to the information he just received and was a bit apprehensive.
“If we allow Chiyou to complete it, Yu fears the consequences will be unimaginable.” Yu The Great was very worried.
The birth of the Divine Name Chiyou in the Northern Primordial was very mysterious. Throughout Primordial World’s countless epochs and eras, this Divine Name had never been heard of, but in these times, she had been born capable of contending against the Yellow Emperor. Her ability to divide herself into eighty-one doppelgangers and the Dragon-slaughtering Arts gave Yu The Great, who was aligned with the Immemorial Royal Family, a very bad feeling.
“We need to hasten our plan.” Qi Lin thought it over: “I fear the Yellow Emperor has sensed that I know the secret of the ninth cauldron, and she ought to have dispatched someone to monitor me.”
If Xuanyuanshi were to interfere with the casting of the ninth cauldron, many more variables would arise, and he did not want to make another mistake.
He needed to think of a way to avoid the Yellow Emperor’s eyes and ears.
Pondering for a moment, Qi Lin had an idea. “Wenming, you follow the plan to relocate the tribe to Zhuolu. As for going to the Thunder Swamp, I can do it alone.” The fewer the people, the lower the risk.
“The Thunder Swamp is one of the Twelve Savage Regions, does Elder Brother not require Wenming’s accompaniment?” Yu The Great asked.
“No need, now is the critical time to relocate the tribe to Zhuolu. The Ji Tribe cannot be without your overwatch, King Yu. And if I go with just Nezha and Qi Qi, breaking into the Thunder Swamp shouldn’t be a problem.” Qi Lin was very confident.
Yu The Great nodded, a bit ashamed of herself: “Then Yu can only trouble Elder Brother again.”
“Little Sister, don’t mention it.” Qi Lin smiled.
Yu The Great also faintly beamed.
“Right, has Changxi recovered?” She noticed that Changxi had not shown herself all this time and was a bit anxious.
Changxi was heavily injured by Gongyang Tu’s Slash For The Ages and was recuperating inside the Divine Womb. She still needed some time to heal.
Returning to camp, QI Lin prepared arrangements for the trip to the Thunder Swamp.
Yet he found Qi Qi standing on a tree gazing off into the distance.
“Little Sister, what’re you doing?” Qi Lin was confused.
“Qi Qi said that Lingmeng flew away.” Nezha said.
“Lingmeng flew away? Could she have gone foraging?” Yu The Great was skeptical. These days, Lingmeng had always been stuck inseparable as a shadow to Qi Lin’s shoulder, serving to give him the stylish image of a noble young master. To be frank, Yu The Great was quite fond of this docile peacock.
This peacock seemed to bring great luck to Qi Lin, so it was unimaginable she would leave.
“Qi Qi, let’s go back. Lingmeng won’t be returning for the time being.” Qi Lin reached her side in a step and tugged her hand.
“Big Brother doesn’t miss her?” Qi Qi had thought this peacock was very important to Qi Lin.
“I do, but we’ll see her again in the future.” QI Lin smiled.
Qi Qi blinked, somewhat understanding.
…
Five rays of divine light flew over the Northern Sea. Already, there was nothing to see over the vast ocean.
The five divine lights gathered to form an absolutely beautiful woman. Her hair was in a slanted bun, and she wore a moon-white silken coat with a veil as thin as mist. She had phoenix eyes and a beautiful nose, appearing like a celestial immortal. The woman stood quietly over the sea and surveyed the surroundings.
“Zhunti, you truly are incorrigibly evil in your intentions. Is Your Servant worth your attention?” The woman softly chuckled.
Then, another woman dressed in a green long skirt stepped out from void space. Her pace was quick and nimble, shuttling through void space as if she was strolling leisurely through a courtyard. She seemed to have appeared out of thin air, yet her manifestation was not sudden but calmly and one with the world.
Zhunti quietly said: “Kong Xuan, Primordial World has been in strife for millennia. Why not follow This Daoist to the Pure Land and join the Western Sect, to become the Supreme Protector Of Sun And Moon, to cleanse Primordial World of this noise together.”
“Western Sect, Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss, sainthood in the next life. Your Servant has but heard it all. Compared to the Immemorial Royal Family’s promise that every person can become emperor, you are even more deceitful. However, Zhunti, while you may fool ordinary cultivators, how can you believe the same for Your Servant?”
This woman’s smile outshone the sun and moon and dimmed Heaven and Earth.
Zhunti was unperturbed: “Accusing us of deceit is to smear This Sect. This Sect merely seeks Primordial World’s Pure Land. With the Register Of Deities active, tens of thousands of deities will suffer the disaster of mutual slaughter. This Sect simply wants to end this tribulation, to bring equality to all things in Primordial World forevermore.”
“Do not flap your lips at Your Servant with that ‘equality of all things.’ If you truly care for the equality of all things, then do not use your power as a sage against Your Servant. How can Your Servant believe you if you are unable to achieve even this.” A sneer of provocation flit across the corner of Kong Xuan’s lips.
“As you say. If This Daoist takes you, then you will follow This Daoist to the Western Sect.” Zhunti nodded.
Kong Xuan smiled silently. A rainbow light abruptly emitted from her eyes, and five divine lights spread out from behind her. All of a sudden, the sky above the Northern Sea was covered in multi-colored lights, the endless expanse of which descended upon Zhunti.
These Five-colored Divine Lights could invert Heaven and Earth.
The woman was long prepared. She was aware that Kong Xuan’s Five-colored Divine Lights were forged from the “Five Elements” at the genesis of primal chaos, the source of the world’s Five Elements. Although she was not part of the Five Elements, the Five-colored Divine Lights were a considerable threat to even a sage.
She flicked her white hand. Time and space flowed at her fingertips.
The incoming Five-colored Divine Lights were immediately stopped by the flow of time and space.
Kong Xuan formed a hand seal, and the Five-colored Divine Lights transformed into five swords.
The yellow sword-light exploded with power, piercing through the existence of antiquity.
The red sword-light was like an ancient flame, burning the horizon.
The green sword-light was graceful beyond this realm, turning space to nothingness.
The black sword-light engulfed all “existences.”
The white sword-light silently solidified the deepest dignity.
When the Five-colored Divine Swords emerged, they could pierce through the Five Elements and the Three Realms.
Time and space completely shattered into dust. Sword-wind blew across Zhunti’s cheeks, severing strands of her hair. She remained calm, her stillness even more polished than before. The woman opened her eyes, and she produced a magic treasure in her hand.
This treasure was like a bamboo branch, about three chi and seven fen in length. It had seven sections, each a different color. With seven colors, its whole body sparkled, green as jade, bright as the stars,
She gently swung the magic treasure.
Multi-colored light was released, washing over the Northern Sea. Ten thousand zhang waves were quelled under its glow, and the Five-colored Divine Swords were also completely scattered, losing their edge and turning into five divine lights.
“Seven Treasures Miracle Tree!”
Kong Xuan’s expression changed. This was Daoist Zhunti’s most famous treasure, rumored to be comparable to a sacred treasure.
It was also an Earlier Heaven peak treasure.
Her Five-colored Divine Lights could surpass ten thousand treasures, but the Seven Treasures Miracle Tree was not one of them.
“In the end, you still use the Seven Treasures Miracle Tree. If not for this treasure last time, Your Servant would not have been wounded.” Kong Xuan said.
“You recovered very quickly.” Daoist Zhunti said.
Kong Xuan sneered.
She unleashed the Five-colored Divine Lights, which swept towards the Seven Treasures Miracle Tree.
Treasure-light glowed, and ten thousand wisps of auspicious qi floated over the Northern Sea, turning it into a sea of red clouds as far as the eye could see. Kong Xuan was aware of the Seven Treasures Miracle Tree’s might. It was said that this treasure had grown on Split Treasure Cliff. Not only had it absorbed the Five Elements qi that had arose from the genesis of Primordial World, it also had Yin and Yang qi. Consequently, it produced seven colors, two more than the five she had cultivated.
But Kong Xuan remained unflappable, unleashing her Five-colored Divine Lights.
Zhunti grunted. She suddenly noticed something was a bit abnormal; her Seven Treasures Miracle Tree was surprisingly unable to sweep aside the Five-colored Divine Light. Kong Xuan’s Five-colored Divine Light surprisingly entangled the Seven Treasures Miracle Tree, and two colors surprisingly split off to intertwine among the five.
“I see.”
Zhunti’s mind was clear as a mirror, deducing that Kong Xuan had, as she mended her wounds at that man’s side, absorbed the “Pure Yang and Supreme Yin” qi. These two types of qi not only magically healed her wounds, Kong Xuan had even surreptitiously refined them into her Five-colored Divine Lights.
But Kong Xuan’s Five-colored Divine Lights were of primordial chaos, not an ordinary Five Elements power. Only the Pure Yang and Supreme Yin that were equal to primordial chaos had the qualifications, otherwise, they would have been swept away by the Five-colored Divine Lights. In addition, even with this power, it was impossible to cultivate it so quickly into a fusion of Yin and Yang Qi.
Unless…
“Can it be, Kong Xuan, that you…” Zhunti grunted, a slight ripple surprisingly in her tone.
Kong Xuan did not let her finish and attacked with another power.
“Primordial Chaos genesis, Five Elements unfolded, Yin Yang Fortune, Lingmeng Dual Modes!”
A five-colored vortex swirled in midair, and ten thousand rays of auspicious light obscured Heaven and Earth. A massive Yin Yang pattern blocked in front of Zhunti like a gate. Zhunti wanted to suppress the Divine Energy, but was unable to use full power. Consequently, Zhunti had no choice but to use power of a similar level.
Yet this gave Kong Xuan her chance.
After the Seven Treasures Miracle Tree broke the Five-colored Divine Lights, Kong Xuan had already fled into void space, vanishing without a trace, save for one last mocking laugh.
“Zhunti, you cannot hope to catch Your Servant with the power of a half-saint.”
The Northern Sea recovered its calm. Zhunti’s face was calm as a lake, quiet and pensive.
…
On a nameless peak, under a lush pine.
A red-haired young girl sat upon a chair, crossing her slender, pure white thighs, an ideal appearance. Her finger tapped the armrest of this ruby chair; the speed of her tapping quickened with her mood.
“Thunder Swamp? Qi Lin wants to go to the Thunder Swamp to cast the Ninth Cauldron?”
Standing not far in front of Nüba was a plainly dressed girl. Her face was covered by a veil, yet her eyes stared into the distance. She had obscured both her figure and face, deliberately lowering her voice: “Qi Lin, Nezha, and the Great Sage Equal Of Heaven go to the Thunder Swamp to cast the Ninth Cauldron. He has obtained Emperor Yao’s gem and knows of the Ninth Cauldron’s secret. He will make use of the Thunder Swamp’s Earlier Heaven Qi in casting and realize Yao’s long-cherished wish.”
“This information is truly a timely rain. As expected, men cannot be trusted. Hmph, Qi Lin, you actually deceived This Palace. This Palace nearly believed in him.” Nüba was a bit angry as she recalled that remarkably perfect acting.
So it turned out men could lie so naturally.
“You are minister to Yu The Great, yet you inform This Palace of such information. What benefit do you wish to receive?” Nüba asked.
“I merely am unwilling to watch Emperor Yao’s Divine Cauldron fall into the hands of a man. How can the Northern Primordial’s fortune be put under the control of a man. If he succeeds, the Divine Names of the Northern Primordial would sink to become laughingstocks, the disgrace of a millennium.” The woman calmly answered.
Nüba thought for a moment. Indeed, the woman’s words resonated with her.
In Primordial World, Yin flourished while Yang decayed. The last man that could pressure deities by the droves, to make three thousand Divine Names feel inferior, could be traced back to the era of the Purple Rose Star God. Nüba was unwilling to let such a thing happen again.
“Then you are not afraid of my mother obtaining the Ninth Cauldron and unifying the Northern Primordial?” Nüba asked.
“The Yellow Emperor carries on the Northern Primordial’s fortune. If she can unify the Northern Primordial, we will be convinced.”
“Good. Based on your words, when Mother seizes Zhuolu later and becomes king of the Northern Primordial, you will definitely be conferred a rank and title.”
“No need, I am merely doing what should be done as a Divine Name.” She said.
Nüba said: “If Yu The Great could also see this, that would be even better. She should hand over Bai Ze and collaborate with Mother. Pity she has been led astray by a man.”
Her counterpart was unwilling to discuss King Yu’s affairs and turned around, descending the mountain.
Leaving one last word.
“A message for you. If Qi Lin successfully casts this Divine Cauldron, the Yellow Emperor’s fortune will be no more.”
“All because of one man?”
Nüba was disdainful, and smirked.
However, she was aware that Qi Lin’s strength was unfathomable. Gongyang Tu had the Chiyou Banner and was still unable to kill him. If she were to go seize the Ninth Cauldron, she likely would be unable to do so alone. But Mother’s injuries currently left her unable to mobilize. Furthermore, this matter could not be leaked out either, otherwise it would disturb Chiyou, leading to more variables. Perhaps, this would instead make Chiyou successfully forge her own Divine Cauldron.
Nüba pondered for a while, a bit at a loss.
“It seems This Palace can only ask for Elder Sister Ying Long1 for aid.”
She chanted, and the red chair she sat on seemed to ignite with flame. Then, it turned to ash and vanished without a trace.
