After entering the territory of the Northern Continent, the weather suddenly turned for the better. On one side, black clouds that were as heavy as lead poured down torrents of rain. On the other, the blue skies were clear and stretched for tens of thousands of li. Although they were in the domain of the same continent, the Northern Primordial and Northern Continent were distinctly different worlds.

In all respects, the Northern Primordial was wild, with every manner of creature coming and going. Even just stepping on the ground had a kind of heavy pressure, but after entering the Northern Continent, Qi Lin noticed that pressure was gone, as if his body had received some form of release. This sensation was distinct and similar to releasing the Universe Origin Five Elements Shackles.

“What’s going on here?” Qi Lin asked the famous general of the Zuo Zhuan traveling together with him, Xian Zhen.

As someone familiar with the Northern Continent, Xian Zhen this time had spared no effort to request accompanying him to the Thunder Swamp this time. Other than being an additional helping hand, that she was very familiar with the tangled web of powers in the Northern Continent also proved to be extremely helpful.

“It is said that the Immemorial Royal Family was born from the Northern Primordial. After tens of millions of years of endless bloody strife, vestigial Divine Energy remained in the Northern Primordial, so cultivating in the Northern Primordial is more difficult compared to other Great Continents and Primordials is much more difficult by severalfold.” Xian Zhen said.

“So there was such a thing.” This was the first that Qi Lin had learned of it.

“En, the other Great Continents’ cultivators and Divine Names are not very willing to come to the Northern Primordial.”

No wonder the other Great Continents viewed the Northern Primordial as being extremely threatening. Those able to rise above others in cultivation here were a level above the rest.

A thousand miles later, Qi Lin and the team entered the Northern Primordial’s first city – Flowerless City.

Flowerless City was part of the Northern Qi Kingdom.

The Great Primordial’s Northern Continent had several dozen nations. Although they were known as kingdoms, the truth was they were the domains of lords, domains conferred upon Divine Names by the Central Plains Divine Kingdom. But the aggressive “Heavenly Decree Palace” was the sole core of the Northern Continent. The Heavenly Decree Palace’s influence extended to every corner of the Northern Continent, with most of the nations adhering to its faith.

Qi Lin had already seen the Heavenly Decree Palace’s true face. It was no exaggeration to describe them as arrogant.

It was said that the Heavenly Decree Palace loathed the Immemorial Royal Family to the bone, killing its members on sight, so Shaman Clan Divine Names were all very unwilling to come to the Northern Continent.

Qi Lin and the others disguised themselves in order to enter Flowerless City.

Flowerless City was an endless stream of people.

Although named “Flowerless,” the truth was that every kind of exotic flower was planted inside the city, and the air was filled with a fragrance. Study rooms, avenues, gardens, and more were full of every kind of flower and herb. Qi Lin knew from a glance these plants were not ordinary.

Flowerless City’s “Flower, Grass, and Grain” exchange was also considered a bit famous in the Northern Continent.

Besides forging the Divine Cauldron, Hou Ji also specially requested Xian Zhen to purchase some supplies on this trip to the Thunder Swamp.

The floods in the Northern Wilderness were already very serious. While Divine Names were capable of surviving without food, the hundreds of millions of normal people could not. The Five Grains planted by Hou Ji were already barely able to sustain the Ji Tribe, so Hou Ji requested  that Xian Zhen buy a type of grain called “Purple Tassel” from the city along the way to the Thunder Swamp. The “Purple Tassel” seed was said to not need sunlight or fertilizer, being able to grow just by absorbing ambient spiritual energy, and it could yield ten thousand catties per mu, producing one seed per month, which made it very valuable.

Hou Ji had already contacted seller in Flowerless City; the team only needed to complete the transaction directly.

“I will go find that seller first. We meet outside the city in three hours.” Xian Zhen said.

“You don’t need me to come with you?” Qi Lin asked with concern.

“No need. That seller has always been close to the Ji Tribe. All of the Northern Continent knows by now that the Northern Primordial’s floods are very severe, so trade on grain has become extremely strict. Bringing a stranger would actually be a hindrance, on the contrary.”

Qi Lin nodded. “As you said, things are very severe right now. Be careful, but I should have Nezha go with you? She is the Great Deity Of Three Altars And Seas, and she isn’t Shaman Clan. If something happens, she can help.”

Nezha pursed her lips, “This Great Deity is not a nanny, why do I have to go.” She wanted to look around this city more.

Xian Zhen smiled, then set out alone.

“Brother, I will follow her.” Qi Qi said.

“Sure, be careful.” Qi Lin exhorted.

“En.”

“Are you that afraid that something will happen to her? How truly sentimental for a man like you.” Nezha twitched her mouth.

“Being careful is always good.” For casting the ninth cauldron, he did not want anymore mishaps.

“That’s fine, it’s rarely just the two of us. Accompany This Great Deity for a stroll.” Nezha giggled and took Qi Lin by the hand, charging out of the gates.

Qi Lin had wanted to cultivate the Five-colored Fate-managing Chant, but seeing how particularly adorable little Nezha’s happy and excited appearance was, he was unable to refuse.

“This is a Sobbing Orchid, they say it sounds like it’s crying if the wind blows on it. Oh, it’s actually crying, that’s so cool.”

“Oh, Phoenix Eyes!! But they don’t look like phoenix eyes at all. They must be taking This Great Deity for a fool that has never seen a phoenix before.”

“Furious Feather. This grass really is weird, it looks like a feather. So ugly.”

“Creek Grass…”

Along the way, Nezha looked at some exotic grasses as if she was familiar with them. Qi Lin was also drawn in by these flowers; all of these flowers and grasses could be used as medicinal ingredients and were considerably valuable. For example, a stalk of Sobbing Orchid was worth five thousand Heavenly Decree coins.

Qi Lin thought to himself that he had yet to send Changxi some flowers and wondered whether or not to buy a bouquet for her. Changxi had recently entered a deep slumber in the Divine Womb, and Qi Lin could not sense her even with Divine Intent. These exotic flowers had various effects; Qi Lin wondered if buying one could help with Changxi’s recovery.

“Right, Nezha, do you know of any flowers that can absorb moonlight?” Qi Lin asked.

Nezha shifted her gaze from a disgusting “Monster Claw Grass.” “Is Elder Sister Changxi still recovering?” The girl was keen of mind, instantly figuring out his intentions.

“She’s not in danger, but she hasn’t regained consciousness. I want to know if there’s an herb that can supplement Yin moonlight in order to accelerate her recovery.” Qi Lin said.

This stumped Nezha. She knew of many Yin-type grasses, but according to what she knew, Changxi was the Moon Mother, the moonlight of Yin; the medicinal power of those Yin-type herbs did not even have the qualifications to shine her shoes.

“Let’s go ask around.” Nezha said.

Qi Lin agreed.

No flower was unknown to Flowerless City, but the strange thing was when QI Lin asked for such a flower, the people all became sheepish and hinted that they were unsure. Qi Lin did not hold on to any hopes. Yin Moonlight was extremely rare in Primordial World, let alone spirit-herb of this type.

Qi Lin and Nezha entered a courtyard full of flowers. Each one was raised extremely lush. It was obvious that the one who raised the flowers did so with meticulous care.

“Oh, this is a Thousand Star Spider Plant.”

Nezha pointed at an extremely gorgeous flower, her eyes agleam.

This spider plant was dotted with many tiny plump fruits that glittered like stars. Thousand Star Spider Plants required significant care, with each fruit requiring enormous energy and effort. After these fruits ripened, they could be directly ingested, and one could obtain Star Energy.

In Flowerless City, this was the first time that Qi Lin had ever seen such a beautiful Thousand Star Spider Plant.

The mistress of this court stepped out from inside a room at this time: “Customers, are you unsure of what flower to purchase?” She had combed her hair into a high bun. Stuck diagonally at the top was a gilded hairpin inlaid with gems and two layers of flowers and butterflies. The woman held a tree peony-gauze fan in her hand, and she wore a light-colored embroidered dress, making her appear particularly bright.

“Apologies for the disturbance. We would like to ask if there is a spirit grass that may nurture Yin Moonlight?” Qi Lin cordially asked.

The mistress of the flowers stared at Qi Lin.

“Is Young Lord deliberately mocking This Young Woman?” The mistress faintly grinned.

“No, I have asked others, but they are apparently unwilling to speak for some reason. We come from the Eastern Continent.” Qi Lin explained.

The woman had an epiphany as she scrutinized the pair.

“They are not unwilling to speak, but the spirit-flower that Young Lord seeks is about to blossom. They all feel that Young Lord is joking.”

“Really?” Qi Lin was taken aback.

“This flower is known as ‘Daydream,’ born of a particular phenomenon of the sun and moon. It blooms once every thousand years.”

“Born of a particular phenomenon of the sun and moon?” Qi Lin felt this sounded very familiar. Could it be…

“If Young Lord desires it, go seek out the Thunder Swamp. It is impossible to find in Flowerless City.”

As expected.
