“Aren’t you afraid that you’ll all end up killing each other, that no one will be left to help the Great King set up the Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner?”

A chilling voice echoed over the drilling field. All of hollering fell silent.

Everyone turned their gazes. An elegant young man confidently stepped onto the grounds, feeling revulsion for the malevolent air surrounding him.

“Wolf child!! You finally came.” Shang Shiwu sneered.

“Qi…Shang Xuan…” Shang Yangjun wanted to say something, but she was knowingly stopped by Qi Lin. He looked at Shang Meng, who stood at the center of the field. That stocky and timid man had already metamorphosized. He was soaked in blood, and his eyes were filled with a desire to kill.

“Shang Xuan, ha, ha, did you see that? Three of the Pixiu Tribe’s members now hold banners. Our Pixiu Tribe is the strongest!!” Shang Meng was wild with excitement. He had completely forgotten that the Tiger Tribe’s youths were staring hatefully at him.

The blood-qi seeped into his marrow, converting blood into True Qi. Shang Meng currently seemed bold and powerful, insufferably fierce, but he was already beyond saving.

“Shang Xuan, I, Shang Xiongli of the Bear Clan, want to challenge you for the Pixiu Guardian Banner!!” A Qi Refinement Eighth Deva man stepped forth. His build was very bulky, and all of his muscles were like hills. The Bear Clan had a ‘Bear Bone Body Forging Technique.” Every man and woman in the tribe cultivated it, making their bones and muscles very robust, like iron. Even the most arrogant Suan’ni Tribe did not dare use brute force to face them.

The surrounding men and women eyed Qi Lin covetously, treating him like a delicious meal.

Qi Lin smiled. He had already cultivated Three Yins Three Yangs strength; no one at Qi Refinement Ninth Deva Realm could possibly be a match for him. Even if a Golden Core cultivator came, his True Qi had the qualifications to fight. Qi Lin was not fond of trouble, nor did he mind making an example of this challenger.

To these compatriots who would forsake their minds for power…Qi Lin already could not treat them as compatriots.

“Come at me.”

Qi Lin adopted a beckoning posture.

“Bear Power Splits Mountain!”

Shang Xiongli worked crimson True Qi into his arms, which were like two enormous machetes. The Bear Tribe’s “palm chop” was the strongest of the Twelve Tribes, capable of even splitting stone. Even the Pixiu Power Palm could not compare. Qi Lin inwardly sneered. He brandished a palm, using “Pixiu Drives Wind.” This technique was not as powerful as the Power Palm, as it was categorized as a low-level martial art, but Qi Lin’s use of it produced a fierce palm wind. The airflow seemed to gust from a concentrated bomb.

Huh?

Shang Xiongli only felt that the incoming palm-wind was like an enormous shockwave rolling through, surprisingly appearing more tyrannical than his Bear Power Splits Mountain.

It was simply like a divine power.

Amongst martial arts, the most ordinary technique could produce the results of a magical divine power. This was an ability that only Golden Core cultivators were capable of.

In this moment, Shang Xiongli sensed extreme danger. However, he was fortunately very proficient in his cultivation of the Bear Bone Body Forging Technique. All of his muscles and bones creaked like a decrepit machine. All of a sudden, his ears, eyes, and pores all shut to avoid being blasted by the shockwave. Subsequently, his arms both pushed forward, his True Qi erupted, and there was a loud bang.

His push was also incomparably fierce, the muscles in his arms quivering, exploding with a series of muted rumbles.

Force for force, he dispelled Qi Lin’s attack.

“Bear Heart Leopard Gut!”

Then, Shang Xiongli did not retreat but pushed forward. He used another technique, covering it in Eighth Deva True Qi. The Bear Heart Leopard Gut instantly invigorated his muscular strength. The Bear Tribe’s strength was formidable, but their weakness lay in slow speed. This Bear Heart Leopard Gut was a technique that combined the heart of a bear with the speed of a leopard to swiftly defeat the enemy. His body was like steel, the explosive airflow unable to push him back a step. He continued forward, pierching through the explosive wave. Shang Xiongli’s speed and power suddenly reached a peak, his usage of them leaving no trail to follow.

Qi Lin calmly stood in place, his face expressionless. He watched his opponent’s revolt, completely unfazed.

The bear’s might approached. Qi Lin raised a fist and smashed it down on top of Shang Xiongli’s head.

Bam!!

Power Palm!

At the moment this blow landed, Shang Xiongli suddenly heard another noise above his head, shaking his body such that even his bone marrow stung with pain.

Ninth Deva True Qi!!

Shang Xiongli’s expression changed.

Qi Lin’s Ninth Deva True Qi erupted. Without any technique, he used a “Power Palm” on Shang Xiongli’s cranium.

“Boiling Blood Qi Transformation!!” Shang Xiongli used a hand to resist, and crimson True Qi billowed.

Boom!

The two fists collided. Shang Xiongli felt like a mountain was pushing down upon him, and his own nigh impervious body was surprisingly almost shaken apart. Needles seemed to gouge his marrow, a pain so great, he wished he could die.

However, this was far from over. He had only just caught this palm when his chest throbbed intensely again. His True Qi gave way, surprisingly unable to withstand this.

Qi Lin’s True Qi far surpassed his expectations. Even a True Qi Ninth Deva cultivator could not possibly be this strong.

“Puff!”

Shang Xiongli finally could last no longer. A spurt of blood sprayed out from between his teeth. That tall, sturdy, tower-like body was blown away by the palm attack, spinning away like a kite cut off its string.

“Xiongli!!”

Two of the Bear Tribe were aghast. They hastily propped him up. They glanced at him, and the color suddenly drained from their faces.

All of Shang Xiongli’s muscles and bones were torn and severed; he was actually crippled.

Among the twelve tribes, the Shang Bear Tribe took the most pride in their body-tempering arts, and it was unexpectedly defeated in one strike!!

Everyone was shaken.

“How can this be.” Shang Shiwu was flabbergasted. Even if he used full power, he could not possibly turn a Qi Refinement Eighth Deva cultivator into a cripple.

“Anyone else want to challenge me?” Qi Lin raised his brow, as if this was just a warmup. Not a single drop of sweat dripped off his body.

The faces of the Twelve Tribes’ disciples were no longer scornful whatsoever. Everyone was in trepidation, turning away from Qi Lin’s gaze.

Qi Lin pursed his lips, smiling disdainfully.

“That is the disciple that Wang Xu has instructed?” Great General Feilian was expressionless. On her back was a massive axe, a weapon refined from a strange white bone. It appeared quite frightening. She was completely clad in white armor, adding a chilling air about her.

“That young man is very interesting, to actually be able to enter Qi Refinement Ninth Deva from Sixth Deva in twenty days. That Guiguzi is indeed unfathomable.” Elai maliciously grinned. From her perspective, that Qi Lin was able to have this body reformation was surely because of that woman, Wang Tingchan. Ever since she arrived in Yin Shang, Elai had hated her incompatible elegance.

Fei Lian grunted. “It seems he can act as the main banner bearer.”

Although she hated it, Elai had no choice but to acknowledge Qi Lin’s strength. Indeed, there was no one among the Twelve Tribes’ disciples that could compare to him.

“There cannot be any mistakes in this Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner. Gather them and begin drilling the formation.” Feilian said.

“Aye.”

Elai entered the field. The disciples immediately and respectfully formed ranks. She looked at the bloody qi on the faces of these young men and women. Elai was very satisfied.

The twelve banner guardians stepped forth while the other disciples acted as law protectors, supporting them from outside the array.

The Ten Thousand Beasts Unbounded Banner formation was actually not at all special. The Twelve Tribes’ disciples had already committed this to memory, and their training was perfect. The smallest mistake was met with reprimand from Elai and Feilian.

Qi Lin was chosen as the main banner bearer and thus became the array eye while Feilian acted as the array eye’s caster. The other eleven were at their respective positions in the array eye. They continuously alternated, guarding their banners with endless change. Slowly, the banners displayed the various phenomena of the wildlands and ten thousand beasts.

Qi Lin suddenly noticed that their positions were a bit familiar.

Upon closer analysis, they surprisingly corresponded to the reliefs on the coffin in the Taowu Tomb.

    1. I mean, “Ten Thousand Beasts” is in the name of the formation as well as the nickname for the marquis that made the Taowu tomb.

  1. To these compatriots who would forsake their minds for power…Qi Lin already could not treat them as compatriots.

What is he talking about? He never treatedthem as compatriots in the first place. He’s also doing his part to dehumanise the victims of this drug-related plot…

    1. True! The only person he values in this entire group is Shang Yangjun. As for the rest, he really couldn’t care about them. The Tear of Blood is a convenient way for the author to refocus the spotlight, it seems.
