This city could be described as spectacular, like a colossus. In the distance, ten hundred zhang tall statues stood around the city.
These statues were of the Shaman Spirit Kingdom’s Ten Shamans. Each one was realistic and true to life, exuding a divine might that came from ancient times. The city and the entire spirit mountain were one, with buildings lined up close, gates and avenues long and straight, and pavilions towering multiple storeys. The picturesque disorder surprisingly seemed more vast than other modern cities that Qi Lin had seen on his journeys. Indeed, the city was like an ancient piece of art forever frozen in time here.
The people of the Western Sea revered this city, “where the sun and moon enter, where hundred medicines thus grow.”
“This is the capital of the Shaman Spirit Kingdom, Ten Shamans City. Ten Shamans City has ten directions, ten markets, ten palaces, and ten paths. It can fully support ten million people.” Xu Fu was not surprised at Qi Lin’s astonishment. When she first saw Ten Shamans City, she was even more amazed than Qi Lin was.
“They say that Ten Shamans City has been around since the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court period. Back then, White Emperor Shaohao, who ruled the Great Primordial Western Continent, valued this place highly and established the entire Western Sea hundred medicines trade. She even built her own rest hall in the Fog Spirit Sea.” Xu Fu spoke at length about the history of Ten Shamans City. The Upper Five Emperors were the five emperors who ruled the Five Continents, and they were also the five highest leaders of the Immemorial Royal Family. The history books called them the “Primal Chaos Five Emperors,” and they were the five most capable sisters of Donghuang Taiyi. A location able to be favored by the Five Emperors was undoubtedly the naturally blessed place of the primordial.
Qi Lin also gasped in amazement. The Primal Chaos Heavenly Court of the time was so powerful, so unexcelled, yet such a formidable force surprisingly crumbled. Just what variables occurred within that led to such a fall, Qi Lin’s passionate archaeologist heart could not help but stir. Probably only the “Five Saints and Ten Ancestors” would know of the Primal Chaos Heavenly Court’s drastic changes; others would merely have misinterpretations.
A giant ship passed through the waterways and entered one of Ten Shamans City’s ten ports. Boats like this came from the Five Continents and Seven Seas, from every major power, sect, clan, and country.
Innumerable people flowed past, riding swords or using other flight abilities. Cultivators with magic treasures entered and exited the city from every which way in an endless stream. They all appeared very busy, and each had a Condensed Core Realm. In the barbarian lands, Golden Core cultivator were rare, yet here, they were a common sight; any person on the street was a Golden Core. According to Xu Fu, these Golden Core cultivators were training specifically at the Fog Spirit Sea. Countless mountains and islands were scattered across the million li of the Fog Spirit Sea, and they possessed endless mountain ranges, ruins, or rare treasures.
Ten Shamans City had the “Ten Markets.” These ten marketplaces were under the control of the Ten Shamans, and they regulated all trade. Whether it was exchanging jade or magic treasures, refining medicines or talismans, or even gathering information, this was a great convenience for cultivators. It could be said that a Golden Core cultivator needed only to be willing to stay for a decade to be able to cultivate from Bagua Golden Core to Primordial Infant Seven Stars Realm. Consequently, Ten Shamans City was also called the “cradle of Primordial Infants.”
The Immortality Boat docked at the fourth pier.
Qi Lin carried Qi Qi off the boat.
“Many thanks, Lady Xu Fu and Lady Wang Jian to be able to arrange for our arrival in the Shaman Spirit Kingdom.” Qi Lin gratefully said.
“Don’t mention it. We’ll be staying until the end of the Immortality Banquet. If you need to, you can come back here.” Xu Fu said.
“Sure.”
“Say thanks to that lady for me.” Qi Lin said.
Xu Fu mysteriously smiled, “I will certainly inform Xue Sha.”
“Xu Fu, I’ll stay with the Qi siblings until they accomplish what they need to. Can you take care of the banquet?” Wang Jian ask.
“Go on, go on.” Xu Fu already anticipated this, “Take good care of them, but remember to come back. Otherwise, I won’t be able to explain this to Her Majesty so easily.”
“I understand.”
“En, I’ll go to Wu Peng1 now. The place still has a hundred Blackbird Guard and Her Highness, you won’t need to worry too much.”
“Fine.”
After giving thanks again, Xu Fu explained a few other matters. Qi Lin and Wang Jian mingled in with the dense stream of people, and their figures very quickly vanished. Xu Fu turned, and with a step, she arrived at the loading bay. She stood beside the white-clothed girl. “Your Highness, the Qi siblings have gone.”
“I saw.”
Xu Fu showed a regretful expression. If not for the trouble that was Yang Jian, she would actually be quite fond of the siblings. However, since they were targeted by Yang Jian, it was not convenient to keep them aboard the Immortality Boat. To avoid bringing too much trouble on this trip, both sides very tacitly avoided bringing up this point.
“If they are unable to leave the Fog Spirit Sea as quickly as they can, they will be discovered sooner rather than later, given Yang Jian’s Divine Energy.” Xu Fu did not harbor high hopes for the pair.
“Life and death follow destiny, victory and defeat lie in Heaven…Leave him be.” The girl gently said.
Xu Fu grunted. Looking around the large port: “Many forces came this time around. The Immortality Secret Elixir won’t be easy to obtain.”
…
“Jue’er, you don’t have to come with me. You also know that Qi Qi and I are ticking time bombs right now.” Qi Lin knowingly smiled at Wang Jue’s kindness.
Wang Jian did not understand what a ticking time bomb was, but she knew she could not just stand and watch. “At least…I want to see you leave safely.”
“Relax, I’ve got a life-saving magic treasure that Prince Changqin gifted to me. I’ll use it at the critical moment.” Qi Lin reassured her.
“Prince Changqin’s magic treasure.” Wang Jian was a bit astounded.
Qi Lin summarized the events of the Four Seas Seek Phoenix Song. Prince Changqin was also a famous Star Name in the Western Continent. Legend said that her music could reach the Thirty-three Devas, move even the saints. Since Qi Lin had her gift, Wang Jian was very relieved. “Qi Lin, I, Wang Jian, have never admired a man, but you truly impress me.” Wang Jian sighed.
“Don’t I just charm you?” Qi Lin chuckled.
Wang Jue also smiled and asked back: “Do you want me to be charmed.”
“I do.” Qi Lin did not hesitate to answer.
Wang Jue grunted and changed topics: “What are you planning to do next?”
“I’ll first find a safe place to live. Then, I’ll look around Ten Shamans City for some medicines. I need to enter Golden Core Realm soon.” Qi Lin had already thought up of a plan. Since Ten Shamans City was a major hub that was easy to enter and leave, he would see if there were any boats headed to the Eastern Sea. If he was actually unable to find any, he would have no choice but to go buy his own boat and set sail himself.
“Jue’er, you’d better go back and look after the Immortality Boat first. I’ll feel more relieved that way. If you stay by me, that would be even more troublesome on the contrary.” Qi Lin feared that third eye of Yang Jian was already locked onto him.
“At least let me see you to safety.” Wang Jian categorically refused.
Qi Lin was helpless.
Qi Lin carried Qi Qi and walked with Wang Jian around the wide and long avenues. They first arrived at the location they were arranged to live at. Ten Shamans City had countless cultivators coming and going, but not all cultivators were willing to station outside the island. On the one hand, it was very dangerous, and on the other, it was also bothersome. Thus, Ten Shamans Kingdom had many mountain-shaped pavilions called “Heavenly And Earthly Paradise Pavilions” that were dwellings opened specifically for cultivators to reside in long-term. Not only were the cultivators safe, they also absolutely would not be disturbed.
But upon asking for the price, Qi Lin was left with no option but to leave.
One night cost more than three thousand jade bei.
“This three thousand jade room is but supreme quality. Not only does this store gift a ‘qi replenishment pill,’ it also offers the service of maids, a defensive array, spiritual power absorption, and facilities to cultivate magic treasures. It is absolutely a great value.” The owner looked down on Qi Lin, an expression of contempt.
“Anything cheaper?” Qi Lin frowned. He had a total of less than 2000 Shang jade bei, and adding on his other possessions, he had about 3000 in total. If he included the materials that Li Hezi had plundered, he probably was around a hundred thousand jade bei.
“The cheapest is 1000 Wu jade for a night.2 We can guarantee your safety, but there will be no service.”
“Can’t you go a bit lower?” Qi Lin was sullen. He never expected Primordial World’s money to be so important.
“Cheaper, this is already the cheapest. If you don’t have money, go to the Tenth Market and live at the ‘Fallen Soul Inn.’ That place is cheap, one night for five hundred Wu jade. But nobody will care if you’re alive or not in the morning.” The owner waved Qi Lin off.
“We’ll take a room. Here’s a hundred thousand Qin jade as a down payment. We want the best room.” Wang Jian took out a bag of jade bei. As one of Ancient Qin’s Four Great Generals, she had no shortage of jade bei.
The owner’s eyes lit up as he looked it over. He then calculated on his abacus again, “Ancient Qin jade bei, huh. Not bad, a hundred thousand Qin jade can be exchanged for eighty thousand Wu jade. Forget it, since this is your first time here, I’ll make an exception to house you for thirty days.”
The owner immediately changed to a wide grin and called out loudly: “Ruhua, come receive our guests…and serve them well.”
“If you dare make a woman serve me, I will flatten this establishment of yours.” Wang Jian coldly said.
The owner was confused and awkwardly smiled.

- 巫彭 To be frank, this arc is going to cause me enormous headaches with names since 巫 “Wu” is a surname, but it can also be a title that means “shaman.” The text isn’t clear on when 巫 is being used as a surname, title, or even a place-name (i.e., Shaman Spirit Kingdom could instead be Wuling Kingdom, Ten Shamans City could be Ten Wu City, etc.). What this means on my end is that there’s going to be a lot of flipping back and forth on the TL, so please bear with me. ↩
- Wow, even the currency is differentiated as Wu. ↩
SO MUCH WU!
I like Wang Jue! She screams WIFE! Actually m9st of the girls with m9re than f8ve seconds of screen not hellbent on killing Qi Lin, being sus af, and/or plain not interested scream good wife material.
Granted, that’s basically been Yangjun, Wang Jue and Qi Qi but still….
Wang Jue really seems to be the ride-or-die type. Hell, she even rented the room for Qi Lin with her own funds.
