“I won’t hold back during our competition in three days.”

After exiting the elder’s quarters, Shang Yangjun stared at Qi Lin, the warmth in her eyes gone. Her prior sweetness was merely because she was very gratified to see Qi Lin return, like family. However, after they became opponents, Shang Yangjun very seriously treated him as a contestant to defeat.

“Neither will I.” Against the tribe’s number one genius, Qi Lin did not cower one bit.

“Shang Xuan, you really are like a different person.” Before, Shang Xuan was very quiet in the tribe, an apparent yes-man. He did not dare even meet her eyes, but today, he already had the intention to kill Shang Ci. Such a thing was simply impossible before.

“Just treat me as if I’m someone who died and was reborn as someone else.” Qi Lin seriously looked at the girl, “I am no longer that Shang Xuan you knew.”

Shang Yangjun faintly smiled: “Very good, I’m looking forward to your metamorphosis.”

“Oh, right, Yangjun.” Qi Lin recalled something.

“Hm?” Shang Yangjun turned, standing straight as a lotus.

“It seems that Shang Ci wanted to kill me because I accidentally came to know some things that cannot be told to others. Have the elder be careful around Shang Wei’s family.” Qi Lin’s head slightly ached, unable to recall the concrete details.

“I will tell Father.” Shang Yangjun paused, then gently said: “Look out for yourself, too, okay.”

Shang Yangjun’s departing figure was delicate like an immaculate lotus in a marsh. This girl was beautifully gentle, her warmth making one’s mind sway. If not for being an Invested Deity Emissary, Qi Lin honestly would have been a bit reluctant to part.

Qi Lin walked towards the outskirts of the vilalge. Along the way, every person he met was no longer as friendly as before. There was generally a hint of reverence and envy in those stares at him. Qi Lin did not mind, for he was aware that the previous Shang Xuan’s good relationships in the village were due to his timidity. This type of extremely weak and lamentable “amicability” was something Qi Lin scoffed at. Now that he suddenly possessed power that was capable of defeating True Qi Sixth Deva, this was like a weakling had all of a sudden obtained an enormous inheritance and became rich overnight. Naturally, he would encounter every kind of discontentment and avarice.

Shang Xuan’s house was on a remote hill outside the village.

That was a considerably crude thatched hut, full of holes. Beside the hut was a skyscraping locust tree that would need seven or eight people to encircle. It was luxuriant, capable of shielding against wind and rain. Qi Lin barely arrived when Qi Qi swung down from where she had been hanging upside-down. Her tail was like a hook, caught on a tree limb.

“Big Brother!”

Qi Lin was startled, “Qi Qi, when did you grow a tail.”

“I refined the Destiny and just sprouted it. If Big Brother doesn’t like it, I can retract it.” Qi Qi somersaulted and landed perfectly on the ground. She rolled her shoulders, and her tail immediately vanished.

“Emissary, that girl from just now is unfathomable. It will not be simple for you to win against her.” A tiny white ape hopped onto Qi Lin’s shoulder.

“En, Shang Yangjun has already opened her Heavenly Spirit meridians, and her Primordial True Qi is very abundant. Even if I have the Dual Modes Seal, she won’t be easy to face. During these three days, I need to cultivate. I should be able to reach True Qi Fifth Deva.” The Pixiu Banner had the quintessence of the “Black And White Universe Origin Chant.” Having witnessed Shang Qi’s Black And White Distinction, Qi Lin knew that using the banner for cultivation would be enormously beneficial to his Nine Yins Nine Yangs; he needed to become the guardian.

“This is for you, Big Brother.” Qi Qi opened her mouth, and a ball of light flew out.

Then, the pair’s forehead Divine Crests flickered, becoming a golden bridge linking their minds together. This tiny light ball then followed this golden bridge into Qi Lin’s mind.

Qi Lin’s head ached, and then he felt an enormous flood pour into and nearly blow apart his head.

Activating the soul technique, he finally regained composure.

Qi Lin immediately sensed an odd object in his mind. He could not describe it, but it was very primal, very primordial.

“This is Huang Feihu’s Destiny. The Great Sage has already refined away part of its impurities and now given it to Emissary. So long as Emissary refines it a bit more, you can take control of her Destined powers.” The white ape explained.

After a Divine Name died, there would be a remnant of her Destiny. This Destiny contained the Divine Name’s most quintessential power. Other Star Names would consume and refine it in order to be able to take control of these powers. Huang Feihu was only True Ancient Realm, which was categorized as the weakest Realm of Divine Name Star Generals; she did not even touch upon “Divine Energy,” but her Star Name had extremely high potential. Someday, she would be the god of Mount Tai.

Even the True Ancient Realm ability “Weight Of Mount Tai” was very terrifying. Weight Of Mount Tai was able to unleash an enormous pressure, as if it had moved the primordial Mount Tai to crush the opponent. Qi Lin reckoned that if he used True Qi Ninth Deva, even a weaker Golden Core Bagua cultivator would be absolutely pulverized.

Shang Wei walked into the room. Laying on top of the bed, Shang Ci let out a shriek like a pig getting slaughtered. Two doctors plucked feather after black feather from his body. These feathers were like needles, but they were far more vicious. Shang Yangjun’s Water Wave Mirror had mercilessly reflected the Crow Feather Fan’s attack.

“You are dismissed.” Shang Wei coldly ordered.

The others immediately withdrew from the room.

“Father, avenge me, I must make that wolf child suffer a terrible death, one that he begs for, to taste my suffering a hundredfold.” Shang Ci cried, his eyes red.

“Trash.” Shang Wei cursed. His palm slapped Shang Ci’s face.

The young man was dumbstruck.

“I had Shang Kui help you, but you were unable to even kill just one wolf child. Are you trash or not.” Shang Wei was very frustrated.

“But This Son truly did kill him, he had stopped breathing for sure.” Shang Ci testified, “I even had him thrown to the Heaven Devouring Stone to destroy the evidence. Shang Kui can prove it.”

“Shang Kui…Hmph, I fear he has already been killed by that wolf child.” Shang Wei smirked.

“How is that possible, Shang Kui is Seventh Deva True Qi cultivation.” Shang Ci’s complexion became even paler.

“This wolf child mixes truths with lies, but that he received an exceptional opportunity is certain. I’m not sure if he’s aware of my collaboration with the Mandrill Tribe.”1 Shang Wei narrowed his eyes.

“Why was that trash able to get a lucky encounter, why not me!!” Shang Ci was unreconciled, the wounds on his body hurting even more.

“Strop screeching. Simply put, you have lost me face.” Shang Wei could no longer bear his son’s pig-like screaming. He spread his fingers, his palm hot as a branding iron. Shang Ci’s face contorted from pain. Though he was soaked in sweat, he did not dare make another noise.

After a while, the wounds from the feathers were completely absorbed and sublimated into Shang Wei’s palm. In addition, Shang Ci seemed to have died, his entire body shuddering from exhaustion. “Father, This Son has never seen this technique.”

“Hmph, this is the Mind-burning Seal, a technique of the Li Heaven Chant that I concealed. I will soon teach it to you.” Shang Wei said: “We must change plans for this banner guardianship.”

Shang Ci looked at his father.

“There have already been changes to the matter of Yin Shang’s dispatch for an envoy to Zhaoge. Just let Shang Qi’s daughter and the wolf child take each other out.” Shang Wei sneered.

“Please, allow This Son to do it. This Son must take revenge!” Shang Ci gnashed his teeth.

“En, if you bungle things this time, end yourself.” Shang Wei indifferently said.

Shang Ci froze, then nodded.

Oh, it wasn’t just me! Okay, so Qi Qi just refined herself a tail! Nice.
    Ooh! fight between family!
Gotta love the scheming. So, this Mandrill Tribe is what Shang Yuan found out about? Hm… hopefully, Qi Lin can make use of this info before it’s too late.
Dad was like, ‘if you fail, end yourself’. Oof.
Okay, he’s not quite as awesome as Su xing, but Qi Lin is way more likeable off the bat than Chen Mo was for me.
…And Qi Qi gets headpats… please don’t shatter my bones!
