The northern peak was one of Mount Hua’s main peaks. To the north was White Cloud Peak, and Palm Measure Mountain was close in the east. Above, the eastern, western, and southern peaks were linked. Below, the dangerous path through the gorges were connected. The summits were joined together by several immense boulders perfectly. The northern peak received its name from its position.

All sides of the northern peak were perilous drops, with the summit reaching into the clouds while a leyline ran below. The mountain was majestic and stood above the others, as if there was a cloud terrace. There was a stone tablet at Cloud Terrace Peak, and a verse was etched beautifully into it.

“Its palms opened the blue cliffs and cinnabar valleys, the three peaks seem about to collapse. The White Emperor churned primordial energy, turning stone to lotus flowers and clouds to terraces.”1

Chen Mo quietly read.

“This was written by the Poem Immortal.” Yingmeng cutely smiled. “The Poem Immortal also cultivated at Mount Hua in the past.”

“Li Bai?” Chen Mo asked.

“Exactly. She is a Spiritual Energy Star General capable of having outstanding martial prowess. That she was able to kill her way onto the Star Duels List is also very impressive.” Yingmeng showed an expression of envy, whereupon she sighed: “How regrettable…”

“Regret what?”

Yingmeng glanced at Chen Mo with an expression of reluctance.

“Right, Li Bai was able to rise rapidly when she cultivated at Mount Hua, yet you dwelled in seclusion here for so many years and can’t even handle one wild boar. Comparing you two really is lamentable.”

Yingmeng grew flustered: “Who said I was regretting this.”

“Is there anything else you’d regret?” Chen Mo inwardly laughed. To him, the girl was a bit too inexperienced to keep him in suspense.

“This Lady is merely regretting the decline of Mount Hua, the Western Moon.” Yingmeng twitched her mouth: “In the past, spiritual energy Star Generals were all able to leap into the heavens in a single bound here. Now, a hundred years have passed without any result. Others have even bullied Mount Hua about this.”

“Did something happen to Mount Hua?” Chen Mo discerned there was a deeper meaning to her words. “The current headmaster, Ancestor ‘Sleeping Immortal’ Chen Tuan, shouldn’t be weak, right.”

“Of course, the Sleeping Immortal is very strong, but she…” Yingmeng suddenly sensed that this man was leading her on. She raised her brow in annoyance. “This Lady won’t tell you.”

Chen Mo laughed aloud.

“How about we make a deal. I help you pick the herbs, you tell me some inside information about Mount Hua.”

Yingmeng pondered for a moment. This deal seemed pretty good, and she just so happened to need several herbs that lived in places with dangerous environments. Picking them herself would be very exhausting. If someone else was willing to step up, she would happily relax.

“Can you? This Lady is not the average medicine master. The medicines to be collected are all very dangerous.”

“I’ll do everything I can.” Chen Mo nodded.

“Good. Let’s first go to Azure Dragon Cliff. This Lady wants to collect ‘Cherished Spirit Drops.'”2

The two of them climbed up to a highland of the northern peak. In front of Chen Mo was a wave of green and a boundless sea of fog, as if this was an infinite void world.

This actually was amazing scenery, such that Milu and Daji stared fixedly.

“Where are the Cherished Spirit Drops?” Chen Mo asked.

“You, wait.” Yingmeng focused her attention.

Not long after, fog rose towards the sky with abundant immortal-light. An unbelievable scene then occurred. The endless ocean of fog suddenly flared, as if a Holy Beast had abruptly awakened within it. With life breathed into it, the enormous white mist flew towards the mountain like a giant bird. There was an indistinct cry, as if an actual divine bird had been born.

Chen Mo used the Deva Eyes to looked and finally discovered that white fog was actually formed from a flock of birds.

The white mist receded, and a cliff came into clear view.

The Azure Dragon Cliff of the northern peak was a precipitous one of Mount Hua. It was dangerous and lofty, like an Azure Dragon ascending into the heavens, extraordinarily majestic. A type of Spirit Bird dwelled at Azure Dragon Cliff. They looked like swallows, and their entire bodies emitted immortal qi like fog. They were named “Fog Spirits.”3 When they rested, their bodies released a mist capable of enshrouding the mountain, just like a privacy curtain, cutting it off from the rest of the world.

The nests that the Fog Spirits constructed were all invaluable items in Star World worth hundreds upon thousands of Astral Dollars. Among the Fog Spirits, there was a leader whose nest used care to obtain the best things in the world. With the spiritual power of the sun and moon in its construction, a type of spirit grass would grow each season. It was like fog yet also like a spirit, earning it the name Cherished Spirit Drop.

“When you pick the Cherished Spirit Drop, you cannot use any force. You must use gentle hand technique to be able to do so. If there is the slightest killing intent, the Cherished Spirit Drop will immediately vanish like fog. Do you understand?” Yingmeng’s expression became serious.

Chen Mo nodded.

Yingmeng watched the cliffside: “Soon, the Fog Spirits will leave to forage. This will be the best chance. In a moment, you’ll help This Lady together. Remember, you cannot have any killing intent at all. Also, the Fog Spirits will use ‘Fog Illusion Arts,’ so you’ll need to be careful.

Hearing the girl was still quite concerned about him, Chen Mo smiled.

Chen Mo gave Milu instructions, making her stay here for the time being. Then, he rode a Flying Sword up Azure Dragon Cliff. At this time, the two of them could not operate Flying Swords or use abilities to pick the Cherished Spirit Drops. In Yingmeng’s words, the Cherished Spirit Drops were very sensitive. Any magic energy stimulus would ruin everything, and they could not startle the Fog Spirits, either.

The Fog Spirits were extremely protective of their nests. If they sensed any hostility, they would activate their abilities. The illusion arts of a hundred Fog Spirits was powerful enough to knock out a Star General.

The sole method was to use the most mundane one, which was to lower a rope and hold their breath.

Yingmeng already prepared the necessary tools. She lashed one end of a rope to a boulder and tied the other to Chen Mo.

Chen Mo blinked, wondering what she was thinking of doing.

“I will go pick the medicine, and you will come, too. When the time comes and the Fog Spirits attack, you’ll help protect me.” Yingmeng said boldly.

“So you’re making me help by acting as your shield.” Chen Mo said.

“This Lady can see your very organs. Your marrow is like snow, and you’re already nearing a level where your heart is like a mirror and your mind like water. You possess the body of the Black Turtle. Furthermore, you cultivate a very peculiar Soul Technique. You will even be able to block some of the Fog Spirits’ illusion attacks.” Yingmeng spoke clearly and logically.

Chen Mo did not know whether or not she had piercing eyes able to see through everything at a glance.

“Sure, then you’ll have to first hide in my arms.” Chen Mo said.

Yingmeng was not coy at all. She naturally hopped into his embrace and huddled against his body, earnestly warning him: “Remember, even if you are attacked, you cannot use any magic energy or Star Energy. If you make a mistake, This Lady won’t forgive you.”

Chen Mo broke into laughter. “You just wait for the moment.”

When he finished speaking, he carried Yingmeng and walked along the cliff, carefully lowering themselves down.

Azure Dragon Cliff was precipitous, craggy with strange rock formations. The Fog Spirit nests above the cliff were constructed as individual clumps, like velvety clouds. From faraway, they were completely individual.

Yingmeng had already found the nest of the Fog Spirits’ leader. The pair needed only to scale down bit by bit.

Chen Mo used the Nose Locking Art and was very easily able to avoid the attention of the Fog Spirits. Carrying Yingmeng, Chen Mo slowly descended, however, the cliff drops were very jarring on the way down. Their bodies touched and bumped incessantly, causing Yingmeng to inwardly groan in regret.

As they drew closer to the nest, the number of Fog Spirits that acted as lookouts also increased.

Very quickly, one Fog Spirit flew in front of Chen Mo.

At such a close distance, Chen Mo found that this Fog Spirit was particularly beautiful. All of its plumage was like a curling wisp of smoke, covering its body. Its eyes were jadeite, very dreamy.

When that Fog Spirit spotted humans, it immediately let out a melodious cry.

A white light flickered past Chen Mo’s eyes. White fog billowed out from the Fog Spirit’s body and washed over his body. The cells in his body seemed to drift apart, giving his body a somewhat floaty feeling. Chen Mo activated the Bodhi Soul Technique to settle his mind.

More and more Fog Spirits gathered. When they were only a few meters away from the nest, Chen Mo had no choice but stop their descent.

The Fog Spirits used a mist to completely cover his body. These Spirit Birds had assimilated Mount Hua’s spiritual influence and leyline.  Even an Earthly Immortal would be in trouble in such an encounter. This was also why the value of a Fog Spirit Nest was maintained at a thousand gold so well.

More and more illusion arts gathered on Chen Mo in an attempt to control his Divine Intent.

Because Yingmeng had already instructed him that he was unable to use magic energy and Star Energy, Chen Mo could only rely on his body to resist. In addition, to protect Yingmeng from harm, he had to hug her tight.

Chen Mo grit his teeth and persisted.

“Little Brother, are you alright?”

All of a sudden, Chen Mo heard a gentle voice. He lowered his head to see that Elder Sister Chen Luan was currently in his embrace.

“Sister Luan.” Chen Mo lost focus.

“You need to rest a bit.” Chen Luan lovingly wiped the sweat from Chen Mo’s forehead.

“Sister Luan.” Chen Mo hugged her tightly, his heart full of longing.

Yingmeng was flabbergasted. This man’s strength was too great. Hearing Chen Mo’s gentle calls, the girl’s heart could not help but become curious, but following Chen Mo’s somewhat entrapped state, he hugged her even tighter. Only then did Yingmeng feel something was wrong.

Oh, no.

He was caught in an illusion and unable to free himself.

Several dozen Fog Spirits flocked their surroundings, their white qi already thoroughly covering every single one of Chen Mo’s cells.

Yingmeng did not expect Chen Mo to actually be able to persist like this, to still not use magic energy under such a difficult situation. However, she knew the Fog Spirits’ characteristics. The illusion art would grow stronger and stronger, even blurring fantasy and reality, making the afflicted feel genuine pain and even death.

Yingmeng was somewhat worried. The Fog Spirits’ “Fantasy Fog” was gradually beginning to affect her.

Fortunately, Yingmeng had some preparations that could barely handle this.

“Sister Luan.”

Suddenly, Chen Mo’s voice became hurried, and he lowered his head to kiss her.

Yingmeng’s face paled. This man would not be thinking of kissing her, right.

Just as their lips were about to touch, Chen Mo stopped, and his eyes regained their color, “You weren’t going to stop me from kissing you?”

Yingmeng came to her senses and angrily clenched her teeth.

“Let’s quickly go down.” Chen Mo’s figure moved, and he instantly left the Fantasy Fog, landing by the nest. Under the nest, a white four-leafed spirit grass grew. The center stamen in the middle emitted a wisp of clear qi, beautiful like a swallow holding a pearl. This was none other than the Cherished Spirit Drop.

The special spirit grass would only grow when there was a Fog Spirit nest.

When Yingmeng saw this, she did not lose composure. Rather, she acted neither rushed nor slow, gently picking it with light movements as if brushing a feather. Chen Mo thought that his own attitude was tranquil enough, his movements gentle enough, but he found that the girl was at an even greater extreme, as natural as water itself.

That Cherished Spirit Drop that seemed fragile enough to break at the slightest touch was softly picked into her hand. The girl used a fantastic hand technique to spin, and she gently collected the spirit grass.

Then, the girl’s hands closed together and placed the spirit grass into her medicine pouch.

Chen Mo watched and knew they already succeeded. He leapt upwards, stepping on the cliff and very quickly bounded up to the summit. The Fog Spirits also dispersed shortly after.

After they were finally safe, Yingmeng danced about in excitement.

“Ha, ha, ha, This Lady has finally collected the Cherished Spirit Drops.”

Seeing her so happy, Chen Mo also felt elated. However, when he recalled his elder sister’s figure in the illusion, his eyes hung low, and he brimmed with longing.
