Immortality Boat, deck. Xu Fu was currently looking at a compass in her hand.
After Qi Lin cultivated and refined the first banner, the Immortality Boat traveled ten thousand li during the day. Having long left Langxie Canton, they had entered the wide expanse of the Western Sea. The surroundings were an endless stretch of ocean with no land in sight. The open sea gave one a distinct feeling of insignificance.
“Your Distinguished Self Xu Fu!” Qi Lin stepped forward and called out to her.
The woman lifted her eyes and faintly smiled: “Hm…Qi Lin…was it? Is something the matter?”
“It’s stuffy in the cabin, I came out to look around.” Qi Lin casually said.
“Indeed. This trip to the Shaman Spirit Kingdom will probably take three months, for it is especially far. Your Distinguished Self must acclimate.” Xu Fu grinned.
“Are you always at sea?” Qi Lin slowly shifted the topic in the direction he wanted.
Because these were some very ordinary chat, Xu Fu did not think too much of it: “I concoct medicines for Her Majesty. I indeed rush about over the seas, and I’ve visited most of the islands in the Western Sea.”
“I was just looking at a map and noticed that the Western Sea on it has no border. Can it be that the Western Sea is so vast that even Your Distinguished Self Xu Fu has not been to the end?” Qi Lin asked.
The woman could not help but laugh: “The Western Sea is vast, immeasurable. The power of man is as insignificant as an insect, and to reach its ends is the sleeptalk of fools. Only those outstanding High Ancient Divine Realm Divine Names can move uninhibited through the world. I have not reached such a Realm.”
I heard that the Eastern Sea has countless precious treasures, even a Crystal Palace. I thought I could see it.” Qi Lin sighed.
“The historical records indeed show that the Eastern Sea was a prosperous place, and I, too, would like to see it.” Xu Fu showed an expression of longing.
Qi Lin seized his opportunity and then asked: “Don’t tell me even Your Distinguished Self Xu Fu doesn’t know how to go from the Western Sea to the Eastern Sea?”
“I heard that there is an island of immortals at the edge of the Western Sea known as the Kunlun Mountains. If you can see this divine peak, there will be a Void Passage on it. I’ve heard that it leads to the Eastern Sea.” Xu Fu blinked and knowingly smiled: “Your Distinguished Self Qi Lin, it seems you have some interest in going to the Eastern Sea?”
“Yes, if possible. I’m very eager to go experience the Great Primordial’s Eastern Province.” Qi Lin said honestly.
There was nothing to hide. As the most prosperous Eastern Province, countless cultivators wanted to train there.
“May Your Distinguished Self find success.” Xu Fu sincerely said.
Qi Lin then chatted with her about her experiences on the sea. Perhaps because she never chatted with anyone before about these matters, but Xu Fu did not stop talking at all. Each of her experiences on the sea caused Qi Lin to gawk in wonder, but the woman was careful to avoid divulging a single word about the important details pertaining to the Immortality Banquet. However, Qi Lin was not very interested in this.
…
Nightfall.
The ocean waves turbulently rocked the Immortality Boat. Qi Lin woke from his sleep. “Big Brother?” Qi Qi was not very fond of water, and her spirits were a bit depressed as she rubbed her drowsy eyes.
“Just rest, I’m going out for a bit.”
Qi Qi grunted and put her head back down.
Qi Lin carefully closed the door. He sensed the acupuncture points in his body were stirring restlessly. He practiced the Dual Modes Fortune Body. Given the bodily reaction along “Heaven and Earth as the furnace, the sun and moon as the fuel,” this was the most opportune time to cultivate.
Outside on the deck, he saw that the surrounding seas seemed to be cloaked in a curtain of darkness. The deep night made one shudder, and in the sky above, a shining moon hung suspended in the sky just like a jade plate. That bright moon was brighter than he had ever seen at any moment in the Great Primordial. A pure Yin spirit-qi was being emitted, quietly sprinkling upon the sea. There was an old saying on Earth, that “foreign moons were rounder.” Although this was a preposterous saying deriding those who fawned over foreigners, Qi Lin nevertheless truly felt this way in Primordial World.
Qi Lin looked at the moonlight’s position and searched for the optimal location to cultivate.
As he walked, he came to the upper deck and found there was suddenly a contingent of Blackbird Guard who were on high alert.1
Qi Lin used the Heavenly Vertical Earthly Horizontal Escape to move past the guard and reached the deck.
Upon entering, he found something was not right.
As it turned out, there was a young lady masked by a silk veil who was in the middle of cultivation. Her eyes were closed in relaxation. There was a golden dragon coiled in a formation around her, and the Yin moonlight that descended from the moon in the sky shone upon her like a beam of light. Pure spiritual energy endlessly soaked into her body.
This woman’s presence was unfamiliar to Qi Lin. Seeing that someone had already seized the initiative to cultivate this Yin qi, Qi Lin did not disturb her. He observed for a while, but just as he was about to leave, that spirit-light in the sky suddenly contorted, turning into a python that constricted the girl.
Agony appeared in her eyes.
Although that Yin spirit-light was rare in Primordial World, cultivating it was not easy. Unless one was like Qi Lin, in possession of the Dual Modes nature that could use the world as a furnace, they would otherwise be completely unable to bear absorption of the Yin qi.
That girl clearly was not prepared to cultivate this qi and evidently did not anticipate as such. After the endless pure Yin qi entered her, her body’s temperature suddenly and dangerously plummeted. A cold pallor appeared on her snow-white skin.
The pure qi covering her body was continuing to concentrate due to the array, and so it grew only more intense. Furthermore, those guards outside had not anticipated this would occur at all, for no one had even sensed what was happening.
“This is bad.”
Seeing she was in danger, Qi Lin instantly rushed over.
The golden dragon formation roared. Qi Lin formed a hand seal and attacked with the Dual Modes Seal. He quickly reached the front of the girl, who was just like an ice sculpture, an intense cold radiating from her entire body.
“Dual Modes Seal – Yin and Yang!!”
Qi Lin’s hands used the Dual Modes Seal, absorbing the endless Yin spirit-light while shifting more from the girl’s body to his own. The pure Yin qi melded with his pores, and then there was a stinging chill. His pores and meridians seemed to freeze. Qi Lin immediately used the Yin And Yang Fortune Body cultivation method. Subsequently, this Yin qi slowly warmed and melted into his body.
Under the continuous tempering and conversion, this Yin qi’s ice-cold sensation quickly vanished.
“Hm?” Qi Lin suddenly noticed that along with the accumulation of the Yin qi, his Four Yins Four Yangs surprisingly progressed a bit. After Three Yins Three Yangs, the Nine Yins Nine Yangs Fortune Heaven Transformation could not break through using normal cultivation methods; it required reliance on outside methods. As it so happened, Yin qi and Yang qi was the crux of cultivating Four Yins Four Yangs. It was a pity that this moonlight’s Yin qi was meager; it could only make a bit of progress.
Sensing someone approach, Qi Lin glanced at the girl and immediately fled.
When he left.
Xu Fu ran in.
“…Xue Sha!”2
The girl opened her eyes; she was exceptionally weak.
“This pure Yin qi is formed by the combination of water bubbles rising from the Western Sea’s floor and the descending moonlight. I thought you wouldn’t be able to cultivate it, Xue Sha.” Xu Fu sighed.
The girl shook her head.
“I severely underestimated this Yin True Qi. My body is too weak, I almost went into qi deviation.”
“What, don’t tell me ‘Yin Spirit Qi Transformation Pill’ wasn’t any use?” Xu Fu was astonished. “However, I can see this Yin qi wasn’t all refined?”
The girl lowered her face, silent.
