“Now that Fu Qi’s gu has failed,1 he knows that you will definitely search for him. He most certainly will not show himself so easily.” Qin Shaoxu felt that their situation was not at all hopeful.

“Right now, you are God Transformation Realm, so killing a Great Gu Master will not be difficult. But Gu Masters are most adept at remaining quiet, laying gu down in the dark. He absolutely will not appear before you in broad daylight.” As a Great Gu Master herself, Yeyao was very knowledgeable about a Gu Master’s psychology. If faced with a Third Layer Greater Thunder Tribulation cultivator, Gu Masters would always choose to avoid being at the front; they would never enter a direct confrontation, so luring Fu Qi out was not very realistic.

“What, Chen Mo, you entered God Transformation Realm?” Ting Nanyuan was startled. “No way, Shaoxu.”

“His Highness definitely cannot be compared to the average cultivator.” Qin Shaoxu actually was very calm.

Ting Nanyuan was speechless. She thought back to when she first saw Chen Mo at Azure Dragon Town. His cultivation was only Qi-blood Four or Five Turns, which was lower than hers. Now, he surprisingly had already seemed to soar into the heavens, entering Greater Thunder Tribulation’s God Transformation in less than a year. Her notions regarding the path of cultivation were about to be overturned.

“Nanyuan, you’re only fourteen years old. You can also enter Lesser Thunder Tribulation by the next Divine Warrior Examination, no need to be shocked.” In Chen Mo’s eyes, the current Wuyang Princess had not yet shed her young lady’s innocence and naivete.

“But you really are too fast.” Ting Nanyuan grumbled.

“Back to the main topic, how can we draw out that Gu Master.” Qin Shaoxu asked.

“He definitely is carrying out Emperor Tang’s command to come kill me, so he’ll need to finish the job before I subjugate Nan Jiang. Otherwise, by the time I leave Nan Jiang, the difficulty of killing me in the Great Chong Dynasty would be high as the sky.” Chen Mo thought rapidly.

Qin Shaoxu then inquired, “How will you do that? Subjugating Nan Jiang is not something that can be achieved in one or two days. This is a feat that even the Great Ancestor Emperor from the Great Chong Dynasty’s past was unable to accomplish.”

“Doesn’t Nan Jiang have the Head of the Nine Villages?2 I’ll beat every single one of them.” Chen Mo smiled.

The others stared blankly.

Yeyao furrowed her brow, her expression grave: “Chen Mo, are you serious?”

“Don’t tell me I’m not?”

Ting Nanyuan shouted: “Heavens, to be Head of the Nine Villages is to face the heads of each of the Miao Villages. Many of the villages have Star Generals on the level of Mangyachang, Jinhuan Sanjie, and Cave Master Dailai. How will you defeat them.” If these Star Generals formed an alliance, even the Human Sovereign would be powerless agaisnt them. Even if he defeated them one by one, there was basically no way a cultivator could possibly contend against a Star General.

Miaoling, who had inherited a Star Name the likes of “Meng Huo,” the Southern Barbarian King, was unable to seize any advantage in her first confrontation against Mangyachang.

“This is perfect.” Chen Mo cheerfully said: “The Star General I’ll have to face in the future is Huan Wen. Fighting a Star General like Mangyachang can increase my battle experience against Star Generals. This is an opportunity to challenge myself.”

Ting Nanyuan held her forehead. Heavens, she was completely unable to make sense of just what this ma’s brain was thinking. Challenging a Star General to increase his own fighting experience, what warrior would dare to utter such mad ravings.

“Not bad. You really are in need of chances for life and death battles like this in order not to get flustered when facing Huan Wen in the future.” Qin Shaoxu’s thinking was the complete opposite of Ting Nanyuan’s. The Magpie Bridge Immortal’s judgment was keen. She knew that the potential of the young man in front of her was immeasurable. In the future, he could perhaps shock Star World. Since Chen Mo was able to kill Great King Mulu back then, and now that he had ascended to God Transformation Realm, there was no reason for him to shrink back against a Star General like Mangyachang.

Yeyao said: “I will suppress the Blood Death Gu in that young lady’s body with all my might. However, I can only manage this for seven days at most. Once this limit is reached, I am afraid she will be powerless to recover.”

“I understand. I can only trouble you to do this, Senior Yeyao.” Chen Mo was solemn. He knew that Qing Wan’s life had to be saved within these seven days.

“Rest for tonight. I’ll help you learn the information regarding the chiefs of the other Miao Villages. Tomorrow, we’ll set out for Nine Heads Miao Village first.”

“Fine.”

Chen Mo and Qin Shaoxu walked down the stairs together. As their voices faded into the distance, Yeyao watched them and gently said: “Apprentice, you should be awake.”

The door creaked open, and a young girl walked out barefoot, the bell on her wrist softly ringing.

The kingfisher “Momo” cheerfully flew down and perched on her finger.

Miaoling’s appearance was exhausted. She glanced at the young woman resting serenely in the other room, and a trace of killing intent flashed past her eyes.3

Seeing her subtle expression, Yeyao was full of worry and suspicion.

Outside the Eight Receptions Miao Village, a green moth left the village and landed on a certain tree.

On this tree were two men. One of them was none other than Fu Qi, who Chen Mo was searching for. As a Great Gu Master, Fu Qi was full of craftiness and cunning. He was capable of controlling all kinds of gu, and he even had one to conceal his presence.

“That brat actually has such a good relationship with that Eight Receptions Miao Village woman.” Fu Qi spat out each word.

The Daoist in front of him wore green robes, an elder appearing around seventy years old. He was none other than Wu Tunan. “Is that woman you speak of the chief of Eight Receptions Miao Village, Meng Huo?”

“Meng Huo is still an immature brat. This High Master is referring to Yeyao, who is also a Great Gu Master.” Fu Qi’s eyes narrowed. “She is using her gu arts to suppress This High Master’s Blood Death Gu. Daoist, do you want This High Master to use full power. Making that girl die on the spot is not a problem.”

“High Master, the girl that your Blood Death Gu infected is an insignificant warrior. Her life or death holds no meaning to His Imperial Majesty.” Wu Tunan’s brow wrinkled slightly in great displeasure to his plan. “If you use full power, then handling Chen Mo will take some time.”

“This High Master sees that he holds apparently special feelings for that girl. Killing her first can break his heart.”

“And so what if you do. With Chen Mo’s status, he has too many women at his side. That one is not worth a mention.”

“Since the Daoist says so, then This High Master will reluctantly give up on seeing his heartbroken appearance.”

Wu Tunan expressionlessly said: “That girl perhaps can be useful later. However, just when are you preparing to take action, Gu Master? He is still in Nan Jiang right now, which would be a great help in setting your gu.”

“He is a God Transformation cultivator. We cannot rush this. This High Master still needs to some time to recover first. I just received information that he apparently wants to challenge the heads of the Nine Villages and become king of Nan Jiang. This is a good opportunity.”

“Challenge the Nine Villages?” Wu Tunan was startled. Things were beyond his expectations.

Fu Qi sinisterly grinned and said: “Daoist must also feel this to be inconceivable. A mere warrior actually dares to challenge Nan Jiang’s Nine Villages. The heads of the Nine Villages are mostly Star Generals. Perhaps, there is no need for This Gu Master to take action. Maybe that brat will die at the hands of a Star General.”

A fleeting light flashed past Wu Tunan’s aged pupils, “This Chen Mo has indeed surprised This Daoist. Fine, let us observe him for now, see whether or not he is capable of doing so in the end.”

“If he is able to face off against a Star Generals…Perhaps he has a bit of value to take advantage of.” Wu Tunan muttered to himself.

Tree Of God’s house, an expansive platform at the top of the tree.

Moonlight washed over Chen Mo’s body like a stream. He was as motionless as a statue under the moonlight, his hand gripping his saber’s hilt. The surrounding air seemed to be frozen, a layer of frost full of a chill.

Under Chen Mo’s silent killing intent, not a single bug was willing to get close.

All of a sudden, a bird flit past the cold light.

Chen Mo drew his saber, his draw speed fast enough to leave an afterimage in the air. The frozen atmosphere was shattered to pieces with a clang.

The saber sliced the bird, yet there was no impact as he had imagined. The bird passed through his slash, releasing terrible killing intent with a flap of its wings before finally stopping at Chen Mo’s forehead.

After the moonlight shattered, this bird was revealed to be a bird-shaped Flying Dagger.

“You are already very good.” An elegant voice praised him as the Flying Hawk Departing Thoughts returned to its owner’s hand.

Chen Mo breathed deeply, recomposing himself. He looked at the Northern Dipper Saber he wielded, not at all satisfied.

“As a cultivator, this saber of yours is something I must be wary of. There should be no problem for you in facing against Mangyachang and the others.” Qin Shaoxu gracefully walked over.

“But I still haven’t reached the power of a Dark Rank.” Chen Mo pursed his lips, running his hand over the flat of the blade. The snow-white blade reflected the image of Qin Shaoxu’s dashing phoenix eyes as she stood behind him.

Chen Mo and the Magpie Bridge were sparring to test his comprehension of the Dark Rank “Saber Draw Water Cutter” that Yanran had imparted to him, but it appeared he still had some ways to go. Even just now while using the Star Energy of the Star Manual Of Masters Gan And Shi, Chen Mo still was a bit dissatisfied.

“To a Star General, Dark Rank Techniques are very difficult to ascend. As a warrior, you absolutely cannot be impatient. A Star General’s ‘Heaven, Earth, Dark, and Yellow; Universe, Eternity, Flood, and Desolate,’ or even their ‘Heaven Earth Dark Yellow Skill’ cannot be comprehended through force at all. They require direct experience, and each technique must meld with your feelings. This is where the power of a Star General’s techniques lies.” Qin Shaoxu faintly smiled.

“Shaoxu, what you said is very true. I’m really a bit impatient.” Chen Mo sheathed the Northern Dipper Saber and smiled. Huan Wen over there was becoming more and more menacing, leaving him somewhat torn with anxiety. He wanted to quickly comprehend a Dark Rank capable of warding off Huan Wen.

Chen Mo and Qin Shaoxu continued to practice.

A commotion suddenly came from atop the tree house. Then, Ting Nanyuan and a crowd of Ancient Miao villagers walked up to the platform.

Chen Mo stopped brandishing his blade, so as to avoid injuring innocents.

The Ancient Miao people stared at Chen Mo. They knelt down, full of emotion, pressing their heads against the ground, “Many thanks to Your Highness for your help.”

Chen Mo was astonished. He promptly propped up the leader, an elderly man. “Ladies and gentlemen, what are you doing? I cannot bear this.”

“If it was not for Your Highness’ compassion, my Ancient Miao family would still be experiencing disaster for days to come.” Tears streamed down the Ancient Miao elder’s face, and he shuddered as he spoke.

“Your Highness, you served justice for us.” Several of the Ancient Miao ladies were sorrowful and resentful.

Chen Mo was taken aback.

Qin Shaoxu walked to his side and quietly spoke: “These people are families who suffered at the hands of some of the Southern Suppression Camp’s officers. You have rooted out the evil officers of the camp, and these people are expressing their heartfelt gratitude to you.”

“Even you know about it?”

“A Supreme General in charge of suppressing Nan Jiang who has also purged a thousand of the troops inside his camp. Nan Jiang’s Nine Villages have already spread the news about this.” Ting Nanyuan giggled.

“The Southern Suppression Camp also raised its hand against Nan Jiang?”

“En.” Qin Shaoxu nodded.

The Ancient Miao’s girls were naturally gorgeous. From a young age, Nan Jiang’s young girls had a particularly outstanding beauty. The Southern Suppression Camp’s soldiers colluded with some of the Ancient Miao’s gu masters frequently to kidnap the Ancient Miao’s young girls and send them to the camp as entertainment.

Even if the tribal girls reported them to the imperial court, the Great Chong Dynasty clearly would not care.

Ever since Supreme General Yu Huaizheng had been stationed at the Southern Suppression Camp for the past few decades, several thousand of Nan Jiang’s young girls had suffered harm. The Ancient Miao Nine Villages’ people were resentful of the Great Chong Dynasty, full of enmity.4

Chen Mo’s bold and decisive killing of a thousand Southern Suppression Camp troops as a warning to others not only shook Rivernest City, every family in Nan Jiang was in universal celebration upon learning of the news.

Chen Mo comforted them, also uttering some righteous and visionary words. In these people’s hearts, Chen Mo’s figure had immediately become like that of a sage.

After he turned down these people’s kindness with much difficulty, Chen Mo said to Qin Shaoxu: “Although I did do those things, the people here can’t have known it was me, right.”

“It was Shaoxu who had me specially disclose that.” Ting Nanyuan proudly stood tall.

“?”

Qin Shaoxu slightly smiled: “Since you want to conquer Nan Jiang’s Nine Villages, this status as savior of an Ancient Miao family can allow you to more easily receive popular will.”

“Qin Guan, you really are my perfect wife, to have thought so thoroughly about this for me.” Chen Mo joked. Even he did not think of this aspect.

Ting Nanyuan stared at him, for he actually called a Star General a perfect wife. She had never seen such a thick-skinned, shameless person!
